Wearing Breastfeeding Clothes After You've Stopped Breastfeeding: Colourful Jeans and Blue Tops

Even though I'm no longer breastfeeding, I'm still happily wearing the maternity/nursing pieces I have in my wardrobe. The two blue tops below are perfect for breastfeeding. The blue tank is a specially designed nursing piece that I got while pregnant with Toddler T, and the wrap top is just a regular top I bought after Baby Boy was born. Both valuable pieces for breastfeeding, but also nice enough to wear afterwards!

Why I wore it:

Despite loving blue and purple together, this is the first time I've worn this navy tank with the purple skinny jeans. I really liked the combination and I'm surprised I haven't worn it before. Nice and simple outfit for a morning at playgroup and then running errands in the afternoon. The Converse were great for all the running around I did!

I'd forgotten that it was Superhero dress up day at daycare that week so I was that mum rushing around the stores in the afternoon trying to find super hero costumes! It seemed like everyone else had already done this a few days before as there were no little kids costumes to be found. Fortunately, a couple of masks and some superhero clothes the boys already had worked nicely for the day in the end.

The silicone teething necklace and the purple skinny jeans match beautifully together, so this was a good outfit for the 'matchy matchy' style challenge on Instagram.

It was nice to just wear a tank without a jacket - spring weather has been a little erratic lately but it's good to take advantage of warm days like this. The benefit of this tank and other specialised breastfeeding pieces that have hidden breastfeeding access is that you wouldn't know it was a breastfeeding top just by looking at it - definitely something that will stay in my wardrobe a long time!

Why I wore it:

Another breastfeeding friendly top, another pair of brightly coloured jeans. Unlike the tank above, this is just a regular wrap top that has the bonus of being perfect for breastfeeding in. And it's so soft and cosy. There might not be many more opportunities to wear it with our warmer spring weather having arrived, so it was good to get it out for another wear before I start to pack it and the rest of my winter things away.

Just like the outfit above, I was surprised to find that I hadn't worn this wrap top with the red skinny jeans before, and loved wearing them together. Again, I wore this to meet the day's style challenge on Instagram. This top was perfect for the 'wrap star' theme!

As I was wearing colourful clothes, I went with my usual fail-safe metallic silver accessories. This silver mini MAC bag goes with everything, as do the metallic bow detail ballet flats. They often get worn together!

You don't have to get rid of all your breastfeeding clothes once you're finished with breastfeeding! Specifically designed nursing tops with hidden access for breastfeeding look just like normal clothes and transition beautifully into your wardrobe for motherhood post-breastfeeding. Which is helpful at reducing cost per wear, considering they are usually quite expensive to buy!
And of course wrap tops, v-necks and button ups continue to work in your wardrobe just like they did before breastfeeding.

Colourful Skinny Jeans and Graphic Tees with Silver Mini MAC

A little while ago I wore my purple jeans and a graphic tee. I liked the combination so much I wore a similar formula again recently. Having a large collection of jeans and a few different coloured pairs means it hasn't feel too repetitive as I wore my jeans a lot over winter.

Why I wore it:

Wore this to go to playgroup. While we don't really celebrate Halloween in Australia, at the last minute the mums decided to have a Halloween picnic. I'd missed the email so arrived without food, but had put the boys in some of their superhero onesies for my annual Halloween photo so they were suitably dressed! I like the superhero onesies we have as they wear them outside of Halloween too.
I shared a pic on my instagram stories, it's nice to see the different "costumes" over the years. From Cooper alone to Cooper and Toddler T and now a trio with Baby Boy!

A few of the other kids were all dressed up and it made me wish I'd picked my "bones and skin" band tee to wear instead of this Oscar's Law one. With the bones on it it would have been kind of meeting the theme for the picnic. I do prefer this for feeding in though, and apart from briefly regretting that I wasn't wearing anything even even vaguely costume-like, I really enjoyed wearing this outfit.

Bit of a busy day when I wore this, so the simple graphic tee and jeans outfit combo was perfect to help me get out the door on time. I really liked the navy tee with the red jeans, and the silver mini MAC bag goes with everything. Last time I wore this tee it was with purple jeans and I wanted to try something different this time around so the red was a nice change.

This was a comfortable outfit for a morning running errands and trying to organise a few more Christmas gifts. Spent some time with my mum in the afternoon too.

SAHM Style in Winter: Skinny Jeans, Leather Jacket, Jumper and Scarf

Now, the outfits. More denim outfits, and again with this Jeanswest jacket. I went for a little while not wearing it and now it's back in heavy rotation. Winter weather makes me reach for jeans and leather jackets frequently. Add a bright scarf and you have a simple, easy winter stay at home mum outfit.

Why I wore it:

This is the second tartan scarf my sister brought me back from Europe. Thought it would look good with the grey top, and was a lovely way to add some colour. I actually took my jacket off during the day as it warmed up as we wear outside in the sun..

We went out with my sister to take baby T to a farm down the coast we had visited often when we were younger. It has delicious food, and also a petting zoo so he got the chance to pat and feed some of the animals. It was adorable seeing his little face light up!

It's been over a year since I last wore this top. I wore to give it one last wear, but I've decided to hold onto it. It's a great neutral so it's staying.

Colourful Jeans with Converse And Kimonos | Wear & Tear Video of Rebecca Minkoff MAM Bag

There is something about the simplicity of a printed kimono with skinny jeans. Add in some shimmery tanks and you have such an easy stay at home mum outfit! As I shared last week, I've been loving this kind of outfit formula before the cold winter weather arrived. Wore these outfits for two very fun days out and about with the boys, Converse were a necessity. As I had a few things to carry, I went with my trusty mini MAB bag. It carries everything!

Why I wore it:

I worried the purple skinny jeans and printed kimono together might be a little too matchy-matchy, but I'm so glad I gave this a go as I really loved the combination! I debated wearing my trusty Havaianas over my Converse but figured it could still be quite a cold day. It wasn't, and a few times I regretted jeans and wish I'd gone with shorts!

We headed down the coast with the boys to see the Gold Coast 'Monster Machinery' day. We'd never been before, but with two boys who love all kinds of vehicles, it was the perfect destination. Unfortunately it looked like most of the people on the coast thought so too, it was so busy! The council set up all their vehicles in a park, along with some emergency vehicles, boats, and Lightning McQueen and Mac from the Cars movies. The boys loved it! They ignored the biggest digger (although to be fair I wasn't going to push them to stand in the huge line!) abut they had fun clambering over everything including jumping into the big scoops and pushing the horns on some of the trucks and riding in the fire engine and ambulance.

I loved my outfit, we had a fun day despite the crowds and lines, the only thing I didn't love was my bag choice. I specifically chose this much loved Rebecca Minkoff MAM bag as it fits everything I need to carry as well as my camera, and I'd planned to vlog the day. I took a cute video clip in the car on the way down and noticed the battery was getting low. Not an issue, it's pretty good and usually warns in advance. We finally found a parking spot, walked the long distance to the event, the boys got excited to see the vehicles, and I whipped out my camera to get a good pic, to realise the battery was dead. Luckily I had my phone, but the people waiting behind us to take a photo next were not impressed by my fumbling around!

I then had to carry around a heavy camera, bag and the baby bag. I wouldn't have minded if I could have used the camera, but it was a bit frustrating carrying around something so heavy when I couldn't use it! 😫

Why I wore it:

Another outfit with the same outfit formula! Colourful skinny jeans, basic tank, kimono and Converse. This time I charged the camera the night before, so there were no surprises! I wasn't entirely happy with the kimono though - we had an early start and it was a bit chilly in the morning. Perfect for the rest of the day when it warmed up, but made me realise my kimono wearing days are getting less frequent now winter has arrived.

With toddler T's birthday coming up, we decided to take him and his brother out for a Pony Playdate. A local organisation runs it, they have a beautiful paddock and some farm animals. It's Horses In Mind (not sponsored) at Hemmant. The boys got to spend a morning on the farm learning about (and yes patting and chasing!) the chickens and ducks and guinea pigs. Then it was time to learn how to take care of ponies, and they got to use all the different brushes to get them all nice and clean. This was magical, I had a go too and it was so fun brushing this little pony together. They were such good ponies!

Then after they measured up my tiny boys for tiny saddles, they got to hop on and take the ponies for a ride around the paddock. We got so many good photos and videos, thanks to having the camera charged this time! It was such a fun day out.

The white Converse might seem like a strange choice for a day on a farm! I'd picked them to wear over my boots as they had been getting a bit dirty and I'd been planning to wash them anyway. Getting covered in mud seemed like the best thing to do before finally throwing them in the wash a few hours later.

Colourful jeans don't have to be tricky to wear! They can be just as versatile as your standard blue jeans. You can match the colour to something else in the outfit like I did with the purple jeans and kimono together in the first set of pics, or you can keep things simple and add a pair of colourful red jeans to a classic black and white outfit. Easy, fuss free dressing that's perfect for a day running around with kids.

Winter Skinny Jeans and Boots: Orange and Burgundy, Blue and Purple

Sharing what I wore on a cold and rainy winter weekend in Queensland. Ended up wearing coloured denim and boots both days...continuing on with the denim theme from my last post! I do love a good jeans and boots outfit in winter!

Being on maternity leave I'm home with baby T for the majority of each day, yet I seem to have a special ability to be out whenever there is a parcel delivery! Had to go out in the rain to go to the post office and pick up a parcel I'd missed the delivery of. It was an unexpected and cute little outfit someone had sent us for baby T, so worth the trip in the rain to go get it.

A couple weeks back (when I took this photo) I was doing the Style and Shenanigans texture challenge and had been wondering what winter items I had in my wardrobe for each day of the challenge. The first day was wool, and I remembered I have this awesome vintage wool jumper that hadn't been worn all winter. It was such a cold and rainy day, it was perfect for it! Being in tropical Queensland, it doesn't often get cold enough to need wool. Thought I'd be a little more adventurous and pair the orange knit with some burgundy skinny jeans. Not a colour combination I've tried before, but I really liked how it turned out.

Expected it to be as cold and rainy as the previous day, but it was actually dry and quite warm in the sun. So left the jacket behind, just needed a jumper and scarf. Was funny wearing this ombre jumper - when I last wore it, I was overdue and wondering when baby would arrive! (He didn't wait long to make an appearance!)

To be completely honest, this is not the outfit I wore all day, it's just what I wore in the afternoon for our walk. We had visitors over so jeans, jumper and a scarf seemed like a nice thing to wear. After getting dressed and cleaning up the house, there was no time for an outfit photo before everyone arrived. I decided to wait and take the photo later in the afternoon when our visitors were gone and we went out for a walk. Right before we were going to leave, baby T decided that he didn't like the blue jeans that I was wearing, and made his opinion clear by peeing all over them! As they were the last pair of clean blue skinny jeans I had, I quickly changed into these purple ones instead so we could go out. I do like blue and purple together! Thankfully the purple jeans survived to the end of the day. Life with baby is many things, but it is always messy ;)

Statement Denim Outfits - Blue and Purple, Metallic Gold and Mixed Print Shirt. Monthly Purchases

Just like Monday's post, getting a little uninspired with my outfit choices and I wore jeans twice in a row! Coloured jeans for a bit of interest, but still sticking with the comfy denim!

Here's what I wore to spend the day with my mum:

Wore this to spend the day with my mum, and a slightly grouchy baby T! It was a cooler, overcast day so I layered up a little with this sheer stripe tee over a tank. First time I've ever worn this tank without a baby bump! I was in my second trimester last time I wore it.

I really like wearing blue and purple together, I've worn this combination before frequently with these jeans. The one thing I didn't like in this outfit was the stripe tee. It was one of my July purchases, right back when I started sharing my purchases and trying to be more careful to only buy things I'd actually use. Since July, this is only it's third wear. While I do like it with jeans, much more than it worn with maxi skirts, it was a bit warm despite the cooler day. With the weather warming up more too it's unlikely I'll get a lot more days to wear it this year, so it would be sitting in my wardrobe for a long time before it would get worn again. Given the limited ways I can wear it, and the limited time I'll have left to wear it, I don't think it's going to be a frequently reached for piece. I did consider this in my purchase review after wearing it twice, but I held onto it then, thinking I might still get lots of wear out of it. Today it's leaving my wardrobe, going into the donate pile, and serving as a lesson to myself to really think things through before I buy them! Not a great cost-per-wear.

Slowly but surely, I'll work my way through wearing all the items in my wardrobe and end up with a wardrobe full of things I love to wear and can wear in multiple ways!

Unlike the previous outfit, I loved everything about this one! The sleeves on the shirt were a little frustrating to me through the day, but only as I was in a rush in the morning and hadn't taken the time to roll them up properly.

Wore this shirt for a busy day! Caught up with some of the ladies in my mother's group in the morning, and then had to run around fitting in as many errands as I could. No matter what time I go, there always seems to be a huge line at the bank.....thankfully we got home in time for my mother in law's visit that afternoon.

I really liked this outfit! I wanted to wear these purple jeans again - a fun pair I've already hit 30 wears with, but that were definitely overdue another wear! I like them with navy, and since I hadn't worn this navy v-neck tee with them before it seemed like and obvious choice. The white denim jacket lightened the outfit up a bit as well and gave me a little extra warmth.

I realised that morning I'd need to add a scarf to the planned outfit though! While the white denim jacket is more of a creamy white I think this white geo print scarf worked so well with the outfit, with the navy print and navy tassels against the navy tee. With the practical New Balance sneakers too it was a good outfit for a busy day, with the school drop off, helping in my son's classroom, and taking Cooper to the vet for a senior health check before school pickup and sports in the afternoon.

Even though the periwinkle blue Chloe Paraty doesn't match any of the navy shades in the outfit I think it compliments it well and this bag has been on heavy repeat lately! Big enough for the essentials, mine and my son's water bottles, and even a little snack for him.


Last worn: white denim jacket, navy v-neck tee, purple skinny jeans, New Balance sneakers, Chloe periwinkle Paraty bag. First time I've worn the scarf as it was a Christmas present.

Why I wore it:

Another double denim outfit, with my printed Sass and Bide Playman skinny jeans this time and a pale blue denim moto jacket. The lilac tee added the purple to this outfit, although just like the outfit above I'd realised in the morning I'd need to add a scarf too. 

I've mentioned before I struggle a bit wearing prints with these chevron print skinny jeans so I took a little extra time trying to find a nice scarf to wear with this. In the end I went for this fun hot pink textured one that I wrapped up around my neck like a snood to cover the v-neck of the tee and keep me cosy. I like pink and purple and blue together, so I ended up loving this last minute addition to combat the chill.

Again the New Balance sneakers for a day heavy on driving with multiple stops as we ran a few errands, and again stopping at the vets. My knee was definitely feeling it by the end of the day, especially after we had to go out again after school pick up to replace the clothes airer that had broken just as I'd been putting laundry on it to dry 😂
