Matching Bright Bags to Skinny Jeans With Tees and Kimonos

Taking advantage of the spring weather to wear two blue kimonos. Wearing two different brightly coloured jeans that match the bags I chose to wear too. I like being a little matchy-matchy when wearing a colourful bag. I've shared matching bags to shoes, scarves and printed tees before too.

What I wore:

Jacket: Cotton On 'Gemma' cocoon kimono in Laos blossom navy print
Necklace: thrifted cream and navy statement flat bead necklace
Tee: Atmos & Here white essential v-neck tee
Jeans: thrifted ASOS petite green skinny jeans
Shoes: slim gold Havaianas
Bag: Rebecca Minkoff emerald green mini 5-zip rocker bag

Why I wore it:

Wore this for a warm spring day that quickly turned into a very hot day! I regretted picking this kimono a little, it's  a cosy cocoon style which was a bit too warm by the time we got halfway around the bike trail the boys were scooting and biking around.

I regretted the white tee choice too when we did some baking later in the afternoon. Luckily the cocoa powder stains came out in the wash!

I did like the colour combo in this outfit though, navy and green look so nice together and the little green Rebecca Minkoff 5 zip bag complimented the green jeans nicely.

Necklace: Kmart navy and gold beaded tassel necklace
Tee: Spectrum basic v-neck tee in grey marl
Jeans: thrifted Emerson red skinny jeans
Shoes: Converse Chuck Taylor All Star low in black
Bag: Rebecca Minkoff red micro Avery cross body bag

Why I wore it:

Sticking with the same simple outfit formula I wore above with a blue kimono, v-neck tee and bright skinny jeans. Went with red ones and picked my little red Rebecca Minkoff micro Avery tote bag as well. Just like the bag and jeans above, the shades don't match exactly but do compliment each other nicely.

Wore this on a day it was predicted to rain so we headed out to an indoor play place for the kids. It didn't rain but the boys did have a lot of fun, especially when the special guest arrived. Queen Elsa was very lovely and "remembered" them from Disneyland which made their day! Something a bit different for them and they really enjoyed it.

A brightly coloured bag can easily be matched to something else in your outfit, like these bright skinny jeans. Wearing them with other neutral pieces like the tees or pairing with your favourite colour like these blue kimonos makes for a simple colourful outfit.

Weekday Wear Linkup! Blue Printed Dresses and Balenciaga Bags In The Office

For today's Weekday Wear Linkup, I'm sharing two blue printed dresses I wore to the office recently with some silver giant hardware Balenciaga bags.

What I wore:

Jacket: Jeanswest grey jersey blazer
Necklace: thrifted black and grey floral crystal statement necklace (new purchase)
Dress: Shein navy flower print flowy dress (c/o)
Shoes: Walnut Melbourne 'Ava' black lizard ballet flats
Bag: Balenciaga part time in black 2010 with SGH

Why I wore it:

This floral swing dress is such a great piece to wear on a hot day, but this is the first time I've worn it to the office. With the longer 3/4 lengths sleeves and the long knee length hem, I think it's a good option for a business casual office like mine. The swing style makes it a little more casual so I added a blazer on top to make it a bit more professional. Kept the accessories simple too with the black ballet flats and the black Balenciaga part time bag.

The floral crystal necklace is one I picked up in my opshop haul as a possible accessory to wear to a glitter themed fashion show. I ended up wearing a thrifted glitter tank instead and so have just being waiting for an opportunity to wear this necklace. Delicate crystals seem a bit over the top for the playground and pointy edges aren't the best around the boys. The office was the perfect place to wear it and it goes with the floral print on the dress nicely I thought.


Last worn: grey jersey blazer, floral swing dress, black ballet flats, Balenciaga part time bag. First time I've worn the necklace as it's a recent purchase.

Why I wore it:

Unlike the swing dress above, this paisley print sheath dress is a frequently seen piece in the office. It's a go-to for me and a wardrobe oldie.See the first time I shared it on the blog back in 2012!

I'd actually planned another outfit to wear on this day, but the heatwave temperatures made me change my mind and so I wore this simple sheath dress instead.  It was a foggy start to the morning as you can see behind me, but warmed up to a super hot spring day. Accessorised with another thrifted necklace, this big gunmetal one was another option I bought at the opshop for the event I didn't end up using, but it also looks great worn to the office.

The purple Balenciaga work bag is often worn with this dress, I like blue and purple together!

A printed dress is a great option when you're feeling uninspired and you can wear one in your favourite colour for a bit of a boost. Blue is my favourite colour! If you're worried your dress is a little too casual for the office, just add a blazer.
