Printed Dresses And Rebecca Minkoff Love Too Teal Crossbody Bag: Weekday Wear Link up

Sharing some printed dress outfits for today's Weekday Wear Link Up with my latest purchase, the adorable Rebecca Minkoff Love Too bag in croc embossed deep teal. It's stunning and felt like the perfect touch with these pretty dresses. Works for two very different occasions too, as I was making the most of relaxed restrictions in Brisbane.

Why I wore it:

Wore this for my son's birthday party. Last year we had planned a party in the park with friends and family for his birthday, and then Coronavirus happened and we had to cancel it. So this year he was extremely excited to have a proper party! While it was a different theme from last year we picked the same park and invited all the same people and a few of his kindy friends along. He had a wonderful time!

I was extremely grateful that the weather held out - the park we chose is prone to flooding and the big wet was starting to set in. We are so lucky that the rain stopped the morning of the party, the park wasn't flooded yet and the rain didn't start again until we were driving home. It was such a good morning. Just so nice for him to have a normal party with his friends like we did before the virus - even if things were a little different with lots of hand sanitiser and individual food servings and cupcakes, rather than one big birthday cake and platters of shared food.

Wanted to dress up even though it was just a casual park party - this cute high-low mandala print maxi dress was overdue a wear, and with all the pretty colours in the print I thought the turquoise tassel earrings and necklace were good accessories. The teal Rebecca Minkoff Love Too bag doesn't match any of the colours in the print but I think it went really well together - and it fit all my essentials as well as my camera for the party.

Last worn: turquoise tassel earrings, mandala print maxi dress, turquoise tassel necklace, gold sandals. First time I've worn the Rebecca Minkoff Love Too bag as it's a recent purchase.

Other ways to wearmandala print maxi dress and denim jacket, gold sandals and blue dress.

Why I wore it:

This was another little return to normality! First time back in the office after over a year! After some big events at work our little team went into the office and had a team a lunch to celebrate, and I of course just had to wear my new bag I bought with my recent work rewards! I think the teal works so well with the blue and orange.

I'd been avoiding public transport since everything happened last year so it was strange being on a bus and being back in the office. It was rather unpleasant cleaning out all of the food and medication that I had left behind over a year ago, not knowing my last time in the office would be the last time! So nice to see people in person though and dress up in office wear again.

Had to go with this blue paisley print sheath dress, an office staple for me back in the day. And of course this orange blazer! That I bid for on eBay in 2020, won a few days later, and then by the time it arrived at my house I was already working from home in lockdown. Extremely poor timing! But good to get it out for a wear for the first time, over a year later.

Our office is open for people who want to work there, and has been for a while, although this was my first time venturing. A recent couple of cases outside of quarantine in Brisbane, and them being so close to when I was in the office as well as a brief lockdown a couple weeks later means I'm back to working from home for now sadly.

Last worn: statement necklace, paisley print sheath dress, gold mouse flats, Rebecca Minkoff Love Too bag (above). First time I've worn the blazer as it was an office purchase before the first lockdown last year.

Other ways to wearpaisley print sheath dress worn belted, gold mouse flats worn 30 ways.

Perfect for pregnancypaisley print sheath dress in second trimester, gold mouse flats in third trimester.

How You Can Wear It:

A handbag doesn't have to match your outfit to go with it! The teal Rebecca Minkoff Love Too bag works with both of these outfits, despite not matching any of the colours in the printed dresses.

Pink Tees, Maxi Skirts, and Louis Vuitton Bags

Easy autumn outfits - pink tees, maxi skirts and Louis Vuitton bags, for two very different days. A very warm and sunny day, and a very wet day!

What I wore:

TeeCotton On deep v tee in washed desert rose
Skirt: thrifted Crossroads black ruffle hem maxi skirt
ShoesNew Balance Coast women's running shoe in black
BagLouis Vuitton MM damier azur neverfull

Why I wore it:

Wore this on a hot day to visit another local trail with my parents and the kids. One we hadn't been to before, the kids loved it! It wasn't too long a trail for my knee and it was really quiet with plenty of space to distance from people. Was good for the kids to have a bit of a run around before the wet weather set in later that week too!

Kept it simple with a tee and maxi skirt - again with my New Balance sneakers, I need support for my knee when walking even though the trail was paved. I fit some snacks for the kids and all our water bottles in the Louis Vuitton damier azur neverfull tote bag too - this is the perfect carryall and doesn't get uncomfortable even with multiple water bottles in it.

The pink tee was a nice way to add a little colour too. I liked the tassel necklace even though I wasn't sure at first if it would work with the drawstring on the maxi skirt. Really liked this outfit and the day we had out in the bush!

Earrings: Kmart navy tassel earrings
Necklace: Lovisa blue leaf long necklace

Shoesthrifted Adidas Superstar sneakers
Bracelets: the usual plus Cora purpleheart and mother of pearl watch c/o JORD
BagLouis Vuitton Damier Ebene 30 speedy bandouliere

Why I wore it:

I'd planned to wear this outfit to bring a bit of colour to the wet week - a little colourful cheer in the big wet. We were lucky to avoid most of the floods so it was a regular day for us with the school run, a library visit, and sports in the evening. While it was a dry morning I quickly regretted my outfit choice when we got to the library - being petite this maxi skirt is a bit on the long side and it quickly started to get wet. Accidentally stepping into a puddle on the way home after sports was the worst!

Unsuitability for the wet weather aside, I did like the outfit! The pink tee is so perfect with the blue and pink floral print on the skirt, a really pretty and cheerful combination. The navy leaf necklace was a bit of matchy-matchy with the print on the skirt too.

How You Can Wear It:

A tee and maxi skirt is a staple outfit for mum life! You can use a pink tee to add more colour to a neutral skirt, or to bring even more colour to an already bright printed skirt. The pinks match so nicely in that last outfit!

White Tees, Shorts, Sneakers and Marc By Marc Jacobs Bags

Easy outfits for the hot days of autumn that are really just an extension of the summer heat and humidity! Pairing some white tees with shorts and my Marc by Marc Jacobs bags. Because even though fashion has moved on and the brand doesn't exist any more, I still love a classic bag!

What I wore:

white space dye tee, olive embroidered shorts, chunky platforms sneakers summer mum style | awayfromblue

Marc By Marc Jacobs Classic Q Fran bag with gold hardware in carob brown | awayfromtheblue

Tee: thrifted Kmart space dye cream and black longline top
Shorts: Jeanswest Tessa olive embroidered shorts
Shoes: Kmart white chunky platform sneakers
Bracelets: the usual plus Cora purpleheart and mother of pearl watch c/o JORD
BagMarc By Marc Jacobs Classic Q Fran bag with gold hardware in carob brown

Why I wore it:

This was the lightest outfit I could think of for such a hot and humid day - a soft slouchy printed white tee with loose pull on olive shorts. The chunky sneakers were nice and comfortable for a planned morning at the park after school drop off for my eldest.

I'd picked a new park to go to near a new tailor I wanted to try to get some maxi skirts fixed up. Unfortunately the park, while lovely, didn't have a shade cover. Not the best idea for such a hot day! Luckily the little one was happy to go for a walk round the park instead seeking as much shade as possible while he tried to "find a better park". Eventually the heat and lack of shade made us retreat back home to the aircon before school pickup in the afternoon.

I didn't need to carry much, a little snack and our water bottles along with the usual essentials, but I wore this big Marc by Marc Jacobs Fran bag anyway as I liked the way the carob brown looked with the olive embroidered shorts.

Last worn: space dye tee, feather necklace, olive embroidered shorts, chunky platform sneakers, Marc by Marc Jacobs Fran bag.

Other ways to wearspace dye tee and kimono, olive embroidered shorts and cardigan, chunky platform sneakers and midi dressMarc by Marc Jacobs Fran bag in the office.

Shorts: Jeanswest Heather Bermuda short in black
ShoesNew Balance Coast women's running shoe in black
Bag: thrifted Marc by Marc Jacobs Dr Q Convertible clutch in electric violet with Rebecca Minkoff Crystal Star Shoulder Guitar strap

Why I wore it:

This was a much more colourful outfit than the first one, and thankfully a much cooler day! I also had the benefit of working from home between the school run and not having to be out in the heat!

I've worn this pretty magenta Marc By Marc Jacobs convertible clutch with pink a few times since I first thrifted it, but I really wanted to try it with purple too. It was a great combination! This purple printed kimono has a few colours in the print which made it a nice topper with the otherwise monochromatic black denim shorts and white tee outfit. The white tee has a bit of texture to it that looks almost like a print, but it is so subtle it still worked as a good base with the colourful printed kimono. Decided not too fuss over my hair too much but it certainly looks like it could have done with a little straightening that morning 😂

Last worn: purple printed kimono, white v-neck tee, circle necklace, black denim shorts, New Balance sneakers, Rebecca Minkoff bag strap, Marc by Marc Jacobs convertible clutch.

Other ways to wearpurple printed kimono and matching jeans, white v-neck tee and culottes, black denim shorts with a dress, New Balance sneakers and midi, Rebecca Minkoff bag strap on love bag, Marc by Marc Jacobs convertible clutch with pink tee.

How You Can Wear It:

Shorts and a tee is a summer staple, perfect for mum life or working from home. For a little extra interest in your outfit you can pick a white tee that has a bit of print or texture, or add a bright kimono on top.
