What I wore:
Necklace: Target silver Alisha trinity pendant necklace
Tank: Atmos&Here 'Florida' tank in Aztec print
Jeans: thrifted ASOS petite green skinny jeans
Shoes: Converse Chuck Taylor All Star low in black
Bag: Rebecca Minkoff metallic silver mini MAC
Why I wore it:
Wanted to wear light and colourful layers as it was such a warm day, so this 3/4 sleeve cardigan and a printed tank were perfect. Surprisingly it's the first time I've worn this mustard tank with the green skinny jeans! I really like wearing yellow with these green jeans so I was surprised to look back on the blog and see I hadn't paired the two together before.
I was a little disappointed to see I hadn't worn this tank in over a year and a half too - it really needs to be worn more often, it's a comfortable swing style and goes with so much - last time I wore it with purple.
With the printed tank and bright green jeans I kept the accessories simple with the matching silver mini MAC bag and silver circle necklace. Just wish it had been a little warmer at the end of the day! This outfit was perfect for the school run in the morning and afternoon but I had to layer up with a thicker coat for my son's sports in the evening when it got really cold.
Last worn: grey cardigan, silver circle necklace, Aztec print tank, green skinny jeans, Converse, Rebecca Minkoff mini MAC bag.
Other ways to wear: grey cardigan and printed jeans, Aztec print tank and shorts, green skinny jeans and ombre knit, Converse and striped dress, Rebecca Minkoff mini MAC bag and maxi dress.
Perfect for pregnancy: Aztec print tank hiding second trimester bump, Converse in second trimester, Rebecca Minkoff mini MAC bag in third trimester.
Rebecca Minkoff Mini MAC Review:
What I wore:
Scarf: Alexander McQueen modal skull scarf in white/pink
Tank: Atmos & Here Oregon stripe tank
Jeans: Sass & Bide The Winning Day Lovestate jeans in magenta
Shoes: New Balance white and blue sneakers
Bag: Rebecca Minkoff Julian nylon backpack in bright blue (and Rebecca Minkoff 2012 sky grey mini MAC bag)
Why I wore it:
This was a really fun day! Spent the day with my sister taking her around our fave trail, enjoying the sunshine and the trees sheltering us from the worst of the wind. It was so nice to get out and treat ourselves to a takeaway lunch afterwards.Added this light scarf to try combat the wind a little. This neon pink Alexander McQueen skull scarf is frequently worn with stripes, I really like the combination and despite it being a different shade of pink with the magenta skinny jeans I think they worked well together. Surprisingly I haven't worn this scarf at all this winter! I have been living in loungewear since we go out so little though, hubby and I share the school runs so I don't go out every day.
Keeping up with all the colour I added my purple cardigan and blue Rebecca Minkoff mini MAC bag. I did say I'd be wearing this cardigan and these jeans together again last time I wore them - the purple is such a nice shade with the magenta!
As you can see I swapped to my Rebecca Minkoff Julian bag to carry all the water bottles and some snacks on our little hike, but I wore the mini MAC bag for the school run and a quick Kmart shop in the afternoon.
Last worn: purple cardigan, pink and cream skull scarf, black and white stripe tank, magenta skinny jeans, New Balance sneakers, Rebecca Minkoff mini MAC, Rebecca Minkoff Julian.
Other ways to wear: purple cardigan and maxi skirt, pink and cream skull scarf with blue, black and white stripe tank and maxi skirt, magenta skinny jeans and grey tee, Rebecca Minkoff mini MAC and floral dress, Rebecca Minkoff Julian with green.
Perfect for pregnancy: purple cardigan in second trimester, pink and cream skull scarf in second trimester.
How You Can Wear It:
A printed tank is a great combination with a pair of colourful jeans. You can add a light cardigan or scarf if it's a little cooler. Either stick with neutrals to balance out a colourful tank and jeans combo like I have in the first outfit with the grey cardigan, or layer up even more colour like I have in the second outfit with the pink scarf and purple cardigan.
Thank you for sharing how to add colors!!
ReplyDeleteI love both outfits, and they look so great for the school run!

Hi Mica
ReplyDeleteI also stay at home and only go out to take pictures in nature, away from the beaches crowds. But when I'm at home, I need to dress up, because otherwise I get depressed.
I really liked your looks, even though I don't have a lot of tank tops!

If I don't go out the house I'm in pyjamas or loungewear, haha! It's nice to do the school run or go for a walk and have a reason to get dressed!
DeleteI love your signature cardigan style! And those green jeans are so innovative. You don't really see people wearing such today. Absolutely love it!

They were a great opshop find! I didn't buy enough when colourful jeans were trending but I've gotten lucky to find a few in opshops since ;)
DeleteI am still trying to soak up as much summer warmth as possible over here, with autumn just around the corner it is bound to get chilly and rainy soon.
ReplyDeleteI really like your printed top in the first set of photos - makes me feel like maybe I need to add a few more printed items to my closet...

Okay. I am pretty much obsessed with that Aztec printed top. It looks SO GOOD ON YOU. What a fun and fabulous way to incorporate a print into your outfit.

That patterned tank is cute! It is funny how easily a piece can get lost or forgotten in the closet and not be worn for like you said a year and a half! I really need to go through my summer clothes and see what I haven't worn when I switch it over for the fall.

Yes it's a shame this hasn't been worn more!
DeleteLove all these colours, Mica! I nearly wore green trousers today, then remembered I had an unworn green skirt! D'oh!
ReplyDeleteGlad you are staying safe! Don't worry, we'll wear all our clothes out "in the wild" next year. :) Although if you get tired of any of those McQueen scarves, I'll take one off your hands! Ha!
I am hoping next year I get to wear a regular amount of clothes, definitely! Will be holding onto the scarves though ;) haha!
DeleteYou look so nice in both of your outfits Maya. I like how colorful they both are. You have such a nice collection of handbags too. Hope you have a nice weekend.
ReplyDeleteGreat styles, wish I looked this good in skinny jeans :-D
ReplyDeleteI hate when I find something & am like WHY DONT I WEAR THIS MORE?
ReplyDeleteYes! I so need to stop neglecting pieces in my wardrobe!

The sun seems to have disappeared here in the UK which is a shame as we've only just August really! So instead I'm very much dressing like you are in the pics, jeans and a big chunky cardigan! Especially loving your magenta jeans - gorgeous!

I like these colours of jeans but somehow I don't have these ones yet. It just brings cuteness to the outfits. Have a fun Father's Day celebration!

Thanks, hope you had a lovely Father's Day too :)
DeletePrinted top are a great pairing with coloured jeans. I love the printed top you wore with green jeans in the first outfit. Those jeans look great on you. I think they would look great with the striped top from second outfit. The cardigan you got on is also lovely and so is the RM mini bag.
ReplyDeleteI love the pink jeans in the second outfit. I like how you paired them with a scarf that has some pink in it...and the striped top is very pretty. I think these kind of striped tops look great everything.
The photo of you at the lake is beautiful!!!!
I'm glad you had a fun day with your sister.
ReplyDeleteI also love your outfits. The first one especially. I also really like how the jeans look with the yellow top.

I can soo see you wear that tank top in the first outfit with black and brown skirts. Also glad you got to see your sister.

How nice that you are able to enjoy some warmer weather even before spring actually arrives. We are still in the throes of the last days of summer and it's still hot. I'm kind of torn whether I want it to start getting cooler yet though.
ReplyDeleteSeeing your green skinnies always reminds me of the fact that I have a pair too, and what's more, I even took them on holiday last week, so they'll be making an appearance on the blog soon. It was too cold for tanks, though: in spite of the fact that it's still Summer, I had to wear mine with long sleeves! Your Aztec print top looks amazing with them. Love your magenta jeans too, which looks lovely with the striped tank! xxx
ReplyDeleteLoving these simple looks, especially the second one, that's the colour palette I tend to opt for. Slightly jealous of the phrase 'warmer winter weather' though. I was wearing a coat today and it's technically still summer x

I love the prints on both of those tank tops! I have a similar striped one and I wear it all the time! It pairs perfectly with cardigans and colorful jeans, as well! Thanks for sharing, I hope you had a great weekend! :)

Your scarves are so stylish. Love all these looks :)

I love both of these looks, the colors are so fun! I'd love to know more about how you keep track of when you wear things/how often. Do you use a spreadsheet to track, or what do you use? I think it is so cool how you know how long it's been since you've worn certain things!
ReplyDeleteI search through the blog archive! Because I use it as a daily outfit diary I am able to see what I wore and when and how many times I've worn things :) I am not organised enough for a spreadsheet, haha!
DeleteI love the picture of the lake !
ReplyDeleteAnd these outfits have a lot of lovely color :)
Thanks all for your lovely comments :)
