Well... I bought another bag 😂 Despite saying I didn't need or want anything this year I've managed to make an impulse buy or two every month. But this one was definitely worth it!
We have an internal recognition program at work and there's a little monetary reward associated with it. Which I was lucky to get, and immediately put towards getting this bag! I hadn't used my Christmas bonus gift card yet either which covered the rest.
I'd checked out the Rebecca Minkoff sale and gotten as far as adding this bag to my cart before I realised that even with the extra % off, the shipping cost and exchange rate didn't make it that much of a bargain. It's a style I'd been wanting to try for a while but didn't want to pay the $400+ it retails for here either.
When I later browsed eBay with that work reward in mind I stumbled across the exact same bag I'd been eyeing on the Rebecca Minkoff site. At $100 cheaper than I'd seen in the Rebecca Minkoff sale! Of course I had to buy it!
As you can see in the video it didn't quite go as smoothly as I'd hoped but the handful of times I've used this bag it's been issue free and I've really enjoyed wearing it!
How I've Worn It:
The seller on eBay was super sweet and shipped this bag so quickly, it arrived much sooner than I expected. Which let me wear it for the first time on my return to the office. We had a celebratory lunch planned related to the work I mentioned above. It was so good to catch up with my colleagues and empty out all the food I'd left behind in the office before lockdown last year! It was nice being back, although throwing out all that expired food that hadn't been touched in over a year was not a nice experience!
Enjoying the last warm days of summer back in February when I wore these, wearing some Kmart tiered dresses with some clutch bags. One a more dressy outfit for the Lunar New year, the other a more casual one for a day with my sister.
While it's traditional to wear something new and add a bit of red and gold for Lunar new year, I'd worn all my new clothes I got for Christmas or bought in January, so I went with all old favourite, this Kmart coral coloured floral print tiered maxi dress. Trying to get it closer to 30 wears, it's at 27 already. Not bad for a $25 Kmart buy, already under $1 a wear. While the dress wasn't new, the necklace was! I got it from my bestie for Christmas and I knew I wanted to wear it with this dress, it's such a good pairing for its first wear.
I wore my rose gold sandals and my champagne Rebecca Minkoff Leo clutch for a little touch of gold with my outfit - not that I really needed the clutch to go to the in laws for our traditional banquet, as we had the kids things in their usual backpack and I could have put my stuff in there. It just helped the outfit feel a little more dressed up to have a clutch. The red nail polish is the only touch of red in my outfit.
This was a much more casual day so I tried to dress down this fuchsia pink Kmart tiered midi dress with my chunky Kmart platform sneakers I'd got the weekend before. Was also a good excuse to wear my newly thrifted purple bag, this Marc by Marc Jacobs convertible clutch in electric violet. I got so lucky to find an authentic designer bag at the opshop, really pleased! Had to wear my old Marc by Marc Jacobs enamel bracelet too, a little bit of brand matchy-matchy although it matches the black and white in the Rebecca Minkoff embellished shoulder strap too.
I really liked the tiered fuchsia midi dress with the purple bag, and this was just the right thing for a busy day - I was parent helper at my son's school in the morning, then afterwards I went to the library and playground with my sister and the little one before lunch and picking up my son from school in the afternoon before sports in the evening. It was such a hot day so this loose oversized dress was perfect. Not so perfect for going down the slides with my son but it was hilarious to try!
A tiered dress is great for a hot day - and easy to dress up or down! With a pretty clutch bag for a family dinner, or add a strap to the clutch to wear it crossbody and put on some sneakers to make a tiered dress more casual.

Easy striped tank and shorts outfits with black and olive together, and my Louis Vuitton Speedy Bandouliere bag. While I wore these outfits back in February while it was still summer, there was some cooler autumn weather so I layered one outfit up a little with a light jacket.
This black and white striped tank is one you're going to see on repeat lately - it's so close to 30 wears and I'm eager to get it there so I can put together a post on it in the next couple of months. It really is such a wardrobe staple. The black and white stripes look good with the olive shorts.
It was a strange kind of day, more rain but not a lot of humidity - a clear sign of autumn weather starting to arrive. I picked the Louis Vuitton speedy bandouliere to wear as it's waterproof, and added the jacket on top of my light tank and shorts outfit as it was cooler than I expected when we headed off for the school run in the morning. After the school run the little one and I headed out to look for decorations for his upcoming birthday - he'd picked a theme at last but we were struggling a little because despite visiting four different stores there was very little to pick from overall in the party sections. I guess it doesn't make sense to have a lot of stock if the restrictions can change at the last minute for parties! Determined to let him have a big party this year though after we had to cancel at the last moment a year ago with the restrictions.
By school pickup the humidity had returned too and our jackets were unnecessary, but I still liked this outfit. The shoes were good for all the running around we did between different stores, but I swapped to my my supportive New Balance sneakers for school pickup as my knee was starting to complain from all the walking and driving.
Summer weather had returned on this day, so no extra layers were needed! Again I stuck with black and olive, with this old grey and olive striped tank that was definitely overdue a wear and my black Bermuda denim shorts. An easy and comfortable outfit for a day out shopping with the kids and my mum - I did pretty well, picking up a new pair of shoes, as did my mum! I wore my supportive New Balance sneakers as I felt they went well with the outfit and they also help my weak knee. I'd been rushing around a lot that week and was starting to feel more pain, these shoes are so helpful at reducing the pain. I stuck with the Louis Vuitton speedy bandouliere as I'd worn it the day before, above, and it meant I didn't have to swap out my bag as it went with this outfit too.
Wanted to dress it up just a little so added some rose gold accessories with the filigree heart necklace and the heart stud earrings. Was a really nice day out!
Olive and black are great neutrals together. To prevent a neutral outfit feeling too bland, try introduce a bit of a print - stripes are my go-to, as you can see here.
