Mid-October is possibly a little late for sharing what I bought in September, but dealing with school holidays and sickness at the end of September meant a little delay in putting this post together.

Since my last splurge all the way back in March, I haven't bought any fashion items at all. It has been a busy year, but I am impressed I could go without shopping for so many months - after it was such a challenge to try 6 months without shopping in 2017! Definitely made up for my lack of purchases over the past months with a couple of impulse buys!

As you can see in the videos above, I had a lot of fun picking out a couple handbags for myself when doing some Christmas shopping!

I also bought a bag strap I could use just for my Marc by Marc Jacobs bag that I'd been using straps from other bags in my collection with. And then I stumbled across a $25 dress reduced to just $2 at Kmart and scooped that up! With the warmer spring weather I have been wearing a few more dresses lately, and it will be so easy to get a good cost per wear with a $2 dress! I've already worn it twice, so it's $1 per wear without trying hard.

How I've Worn It:

I set myself a goal of wearing everything I buy twice in the month that I buy it, which was a little trickier last month when I bought a few things close to the end of the month and then we had to stay home for a while thanks to getting sick on the last week of school. Giving myself a pass on not hitting my wear twice goals for that reason! While I have worn everything I bought at least twice, it wasn't all twice in September.

The little mini Darren bag has been worn a lot - it's been great for days I don't need to carry much other than my phone, car keys, and sanitiser.

How I'm Tracking With My Budget:

In 2021 I spent just $580.36 on clothes and accessories. I knew I was never going to spend less than that this year, so I set myself a goal of spending less than $1,000 on fashion this year. I'm still under that budget, but getting close! With the last months of the year and all the extra sales coming up I'm hoping I can stay under the $1,000 budget I set myself.

For today's Weekday Wear Link Up, I'm wearing my Kmart tiered midi dresses again! Accessorised with denim jackets and black bags for some days out in the spring school holidays a couple of weeks ago. I really love these dresses! After noticing that Kmart had brought it out in coral recently, my mum bought it for me so now I have three of these gorgeous dresses in my wardrobe.

What I wore:

Why I wore it:

This was such an overcast day - my tote was overstuffed with snacks, water bottles, and an umbrella. Instead of attending the last day of school term the school holidays started early as I took my son and his friend on an outing to go see the animals. It was a lot of fun, especially because the rain stayed away for most of the day. It did rain a little driving there, but by the afternoon it had brightened up considerably, and I even took my denim jacket off.

Thought the white denim jacket went well with the comfortable Adidas superstar sneakers, for all that walking around and for the long drive there and back. It was a lot of fun though, and this dress was the perfect easy light outfit to wear as despite it being a cloudy day, it wasn't cold.

With the black Rebecca Minkoff tote bag with this outfit I went with a black necklace and black bracelets for a bit of matchy-matchy.

Last worn: white denim jacket, beaded necklace, amber tiered midi dress, Adidas Superstar sneakers, Rebecca Minkoff black unlined tote bag.

Why I wore it:

This was a much sunnier day! Our school holiday plans had been a bit upended, but we still managed to make it to the beach thankfully. It was a cooler morning so I added the denim jacket over this fuchsia tiered midi dress, but definitely didn't need it by the time we got to the beach - it felt more like summer than spring, so nice after a few rainy days!

I only wore my little straw circle crossbody bag for my car keys, phone and wallet, as I had a big tote with beach toys for the kids as well as towels and a change of clothes. It was perfect as when the tide went out I had quite a walk from our towel on the sand to where the boys were playing, and it was good having everything important on me. It was supposed to rain later in the afternoon but we luckily avoided that, and just got to enjoy the sunshine and playing at the beach.

How You Can Wear It:

Tiered midi dresses are perfect for spring! For cooler days or cold mornings or evenings, a denim jacket is a great layer. And you can't go wrong accessorising with a classic black bag.
