Dress: Jaase Celine autumn leaves mini dress

Why I wore it:
This was an exciting day! I had the usual school run, helping out in my sons classroom, and working from home before school pick up. But after school the kids had an award ceremony at the library for completing the winter reading challenge, with some delicious cake to celebrate after the medal and certificate ceremony. They have been doing the challenges since they started school, back in 2020, but this is the first time they have been able to have the traditional ceremony. I thought it would be fun to dress up a little for it, and I was really just looking for another excuse to wear this pretty Jasse dress again, I love it.
With the navy dress purple accessories seemed right - even if the pastel purple statement earrings are a different shade from the deep purple of the Balenciaga raisin work bag. I didn't need such a big bag, I didn't have a lot to carry, but I wanted to give this bag another wear. I liked how the purple worked with the autumn colours in the print of the dress.

30 Ways to Wear: Purple Balenciaga Work Bag
What I wore:
Dress: Atmos & Here Willow printed tee dress
Shoes: RMK Chester black ankle boots
Bag: Balenciaga raisin purple 2009 giant silver G21 hardware work bag
Why I wore it:
This floral tee dress is a firm favourite and I was trying to think of different ways to wear it. As I'd gotten the purple Balenciaga work bag out for the outfit above, I wondered if the green would work with the purple. I was pleasantly surprised that I like the dress and bag together, although I'd been dubious at first, as purple and green isn't a colour combination I've worn in the past. I really liked it in this outfit though!I picked the black leather jacket again to help ease into the purple and green combination, and of course I went with black ankle boots. Unlike the day above, it was a colder start to the morning, and I wasn't sure I should have gone without leggings! Thankfully it warmed up in the afternoon for school pick up.
Last worn: black leather jacket (above), floral print shift dress, black ankle boots (above), Balenciaga purple work bag (above).
Other ways to wear: black leather jacket and maxi dress, floral print shift dress and yellow cardigan, black ankle boots worn 30 ways, Balenciaga purple work bag and little black dress.
Perfect for pregnancy: floral print shift dress in second trimester, black ankle boots in second trimester with the same dress.

How You Can Wear It:
Leather jackets and ankle boots are cold weather staples. For a matchy-matchy look with a black jacket and boots, you can easily add more colour with a printed dress and a big bold bag like I have here.

Yes it was really nice to be able to have the ceremony for the first time! :) And it has been great leather jacket weather, although it's definitely warming up here now!
DeleteYou look great.. the leather jacket gives your outfits a cool rocker chick vibe.
ReplyDeleteThe juxtaposition of leather and floral is such a fun look!
ReplyDeleteIt is, it's a shame it's no longer leather jacket season here so I won't get to try it again for a few months!
DeleteNot sure what the deal is with my computer so using my phone foe blog comments! Love both of these and it reinforces my decision to look for a black moto jacket this fall while thrifting hopefully. Love the edge it gives to both outfits.

Those are two cute moto jackets! Now that it's officially fall here, I'm loving that moody floral dress! (Even though I have no need for dresses with WFH, haha!)
