What I wore:
Scarf: Marc by Marc Jacobs scarf in Island pine-print
Jumper: Topshop grey knitted scoop neck topSkirt: Izabel London Aztec print maxi skirt (C/O)
Shoes: Walnut Melbourne 'Ava' black lizard ballet flats
Bag: Marc by Marc Jacobs Little Ukita bag in Rock Lobster
Why I wore it:
Wore this to work from home and do the day care drop off/pick up. Nice and comfy! I'd had the idea of wearing this grey jumper and skirt together, but when I put it on it seemed a bit dull. I decided on this scarf to try add some colour, and the bright bag too.I really wish I could fold this scarf better. It's got a beautiful, colourful print in the centre but I always seem to show more of the cream border than anything when I wear it.
Last worn: printed scarf, grey knit, printed maxi skirt, ballet flats, Marc by Marc Jacobs Ukita bag.
Other ways to wear: printed scarf with pink and blue, grey knit and a third trimester belly, printed maxi skirt and a black tee, ballet flats and a pencil skirt, Marc by Marc Jacobs Ukita bag and a maxi dress.
More grey knits, under $50:
What I wore:
Scarf: red tartan scarf
Jumper: Warehouse grey bead front jumperSkirt: Target black and white striped maxi skirt
Shoes: Walnut Melbourne 'Ava' black lizard ballet flats
Bracelets: the usual
Bag: Marc by Marc Jacobs Little Ukita bag in Rock Lobster
Why I wore it:
Since I'd liked the grey knit and printed maxi skirt combination above, I wore a similar version again to run some errands and go to the doctors.I wasn't too sure about the beaded detail on the top and the print in the scarf, if it looked a bit too 'busy'. I changed my opinion back and forth a few times during the day, and I'm still undecided now looking at the photos. Probably not a combination I'd try again, even though I wouldn't call it a complete outfit fail.
Last worn: red tartan scarf, embellished jumper, striped maxi skirt, black ballet flats (above), Marc by Marc Jacobs Ukita bag (above).
Other ways to wear: red tartan scarf and jeans, embellished jumper and skinny jeans, striped maxi skirt and a blue jumper, black ballet flats and a printed dress, Marc by Marc Jacobs Ukita bag with a black outfit.

I love the beaded top of the second outfit. I think I probably agree with you that the pattern of the scarf is clashing a little too much especially as the beading is so lovely. But it's always good to try these things. The red is fantastic against the grey and black.
ReplyDeleteThank you! I agree, like you said it's always good to try something once. Especially with clothes, they are just clothes in the end :)
DeleteI like the red scarf and red bag combo! Your gray sweaters are making me so ready for fall.

Again I love both of these styles, but my favorite is the first one, that Aztec maxi skirt is TDF! The gray sweater is the perfect match along with the red purse.

I like both of these outfits - so cute!
ReplyDeleteWell I hope it warms up for you soon! Next week is officially fall for us, so I know you are totally ready for Spring over there. (; I love that scarves are pretty and functional. We totally just need them to work with everything, especially as these last few days start to cool off. I love that design on that second sweater and actually remember you wearing it before. Come to think ,I'm pretty sure it was one of your first posts I ever commented on! (:
ReplyDeleteI am so glad our spring weather is here at last, it's only taken a month to arrive...sheesh! haha.
DeleteThat top is a very memorable one, I like it, just a shame I didn't wear it more while the weather was cooler! :)
I didn't really even notice the beads on your sweater at first so I don't think it looks too busy at all! You look great!

Thanks! It's a subtle but lovely design :)
DeleteI'm looking at your maxi skirts and am feeling totally inspired to use my maxi dresses as a skirt, and dress the top part… thank you for the inspiration ;) which I am in such a need for!
ReplyDeleteGlad I could give you some inspiration Lorena! :) Maxi skirts and dresses are great, I love wearing them! :)
DeleteI really love the pops of red in the second look. I understand your frustration at folding scarves. I can never seem to get it quite right.
ReplyDeleteI wish there was a way to learn, haha! I'm always never getting it to look how I want!
DeleteI love the styling of the scarfs, mine always look like I've wrapped a tea towel round my neck. And another to die for bag! What is your secret?! Have a lovely week and I hope the toddler is better soon. :)
ReplyDeletehaha thank you! I have a pretty shocking handbag habit, that's the secret ;)
DeleteI love tartan scarves and flannels! It's just turning into autumn here in the UK and I am practically living in all the tartan stuff!

I love both of these looks--you're right, the scarf and bag in the first look really add so much to the overall look. It really works! You have some great maxi skirts, and scarves for that matter!

i swear you have the best bag collection! i love that red scarf so.
ReplyDeleteMica, weathers are getting crazy and even we're living in different countries, we're also complaining about the heat and in your case--the cold of winter hihi..
ReplyDeleteDon't worry, with more practice you can showcase the loveliness of that scarf designs eventually :)

I love how well you wear your scarves! I live a scarfy life vicariously through you, because I for the life of me cannot wear or manage scarves! I have 4 to be exact, which usually hang out in my closet :(. Love the layered look, we are starting to have to layer here since fall is coming..its still pretty unseasonably warm( not that I am complaining) but soon I will become a disguised penguin, and that wont be fun!
ReplyDeleteI have way too many scarves, haha! I think everyone has something they collect a lot of, mine happens to be scarves. Easier to justify another scarf purchase than another handbag purchase ;)
DeleteI'm just starting to incorporate scarves into my wardrobe. I use to think they were a hassle, but they're easy to take on & off throughout the day depending on the weather. You look lovely in the photos!
ReplyDeleteZ · HELLOZAUNI.COM
They are great layering pieces, definitely! :)
DeleteI love the pop of colour your bag provides!
ReplyDeleteThese outfits are so you, Mica. I love both of those gray jumpers.
ReplyDeleteEnjoy the weekend!
Those sweater tops and maxi skirts look really good paired together.

looking lovely Mica. I hope you had a nice week. Bron x
ReplyDeletesuch cute maxi skirts! Haha I know what you mean about being undecided about an outfit...I hate it when I can't make up my mind if something works or not and then I just end up feeling really self-conscious the whole time. It looks great though, and I love the pops of red! :)
ReplyDeleteMetallic Paws
Yeah, it's not nice being unsure and unconfident. But at the end of the day, it's only clothes, so not the end of the world, we can change afterwards and forget all about it, haha!
DeleteThank you all for your kind comments :)
ReplyDeleteLove how you combined these sweaters with maxi skirts! They both look so elegant and beautiful! Very simple but gorgeous outfits!
