Coral Dresses, Blue Scarves and Leather Jackets

Two very similar outfits for winter office days - colourful coral dresses with black leather jackets, bright blue scarves and my Rebecca Minkoff Love Too bag.

What I wore:

Why I wore it:

I really liked this outfit! It was a colder day but with a slip under this dress, my cosy cobalt scarf and the thick leather jacket on top I didn't feel too cold from having my bare ankles popping out from under the dress. By the time I was back from the office and picking the kids up from school I was even warm enough to take the jacket off. Definitely appreciated and needed it on the cold morning commute though!

With the bright coral tiered midi dress I knew this blue scarf would look great. The deep teal Love Too bag is a different shade of blue with this outfit but I think it really worked with this colourful dress. I loved this outfit, colourful for a colder winter day.

Why I wore it:

This outfit I did not love as much as the one above. Very similar with a slip under a midi dress, a warm black leather jacket, sneakers and a cosy blanket scarf. This Louis Vuitton shawl is one of the warmest scarves I have. However I didn't really think this outfit through. I like this dress for work, I've worn it a few times, and the midi dress and leather jacket and cosy scarf combination worked well for the first outfit above.

With this midi dress being a wrap dress though, walking through the city in the morning to get into the office I realised the error of my ways as the wrap dress opens a little at the base as you walk, which left a lot more of my legs exposed to the cold than in the outfit above. I was glad to get into the heated office, and will be keeping this dress only for warmer days!

Printed Tanks, Black Jeans and Leather Jackets

Adding cosy winter layers and bright bursts of blue to two black jeans outfits I wore to the office recently. Layering was definitely needed as each of these printed tops are sleeveless tanks!

What I wore:

Why I wore it:

I felt that this pretty floral print tank was overdue a wear, it's been so long since I last wore it! Had decided to get it out again and layer a navy tank underneath to help keep me warm for an in-office day. At the last minute I decided to swap out the black leather jacket I planned to wear for this cobalt one. It's a firm favourite I've already hit 30 wears on that always gets me compliments and this day was no exception.

With the cobalt leather jacket against the white floral print tank and the black jeans and white Converse, I wanted to add a little extra colour so I went with this red saddle bag. Doesn't match the deep dark red flowers on the button up tank, but I did like how it brightened this outfit worn with the cobalt jacket.

Even though I layered up under the tank and this is a thick and cosy jacket, it was a very chilly commute to the office and I did wish I'd added a scarf to this outfit!

Why I wore it:

Unlike the outfit above, this one was a bit more neutral, with the brown printed tank, and then matching black leather jacket, black Nobody Denim skinny jeans and black Converse. I wore a black bag with this too, my little Mimco Mim-Mazing crossbody. 

I felt this big Louis Vuitton cobalt shawl made up for all the other neutrals in the outfit though - it's such a great pop of colour, and a very cosy scarf! Much like the cobalt leather jacket above, this blue scarf also gets a lot of compliments, it's such a great colour to wear. Kept me nice and warm on the early commute to the office.

Striped Tops, Jeans and Blazers With Blanket Scarves and Mimco Crossbody Bag

Adding some cosy blanket scarves for the cold winter commute to the office recently! Both of these blazer and jeans outfits have striped tops as well as the colourful scarves.

Why I wore it:

A cold and foggy morning had me reaching for jeans and this Louis Vuitton shawl that is one of the cosiest blanket scarves I own. I like the bright cobalt blue pop of colour it adds to the black blazer and black jeans outfit. The blue goes so well with the red stripes on my long sleeved top as well. Kept me nice and warm on the cooler commute to the office.

With the black blazer and black jeans I reached for more black and wore my little Mimco Mim-Mazing crossbody bag again.

Why I wore it:

Similar outfit combination to the one above, but much more colourful! I went with my burgundy jeans that hadn't been worn in a while and were overdue another wear.

The grey blazer is lighter than the black one above, and the colourful mixed print scarf helped brighten up the outfit more too. Even if, unlike the day I wore the outfit above, this ended up being a very warm day and I'd shed the scarf by the afternoon on my way home from the office.

Again I wore the little black Mimco crossbody bag. It looks just as good with this more colourful outfit as it does with the matching black clothes in the outfit above.

Pink Kmart Dresses, Blue Scarves and Denim Jackets With Chloe Marcie Bag | Weekday Wear Link Up

Sharing another great outfit formula! Pretty pink Kmart dresses, blue scarves, denim jackets, sneakers and my awesome neutral Chloe Marcie bag.

Why I wore it:

This was a bit of a busy day! While it was cold I decided to go bare legged as my mum and sister and I had a fun day out of shopping planned. Quickly realised when my son woke up though that he wasn't quite right, so it was a quick scrabble to find him a doctor and get him some medicine. Luckily there was a local doctor open with availability, and we could leave him to rest at home with hubby and his brother while we went out to shop. I didn't have anything planned to buy, was just looking forward to catching up with my mum and sister and having lunch, but it turned into a really productive shopping day and I started buying a few Christmas presents. We took much longer at the shops than expected, as we hadn't been planning to buy a lot, but it was nice having that time together, especially after the stressful morning. Some of the shops were very warm, so I was glad I'd gone bare legged, and I even took my denim jacket off not long after arriving at the shopping centre. The heart print scarf kept me cosy enough over the linen dress.

It's not the first time I've layered this Kmart linen blend dress up for winter, and once again I stuck to that familiar outfit formula like I'd worn before, with the scarf and denim jacket. Instead of ankle boots like I wore previously, I went with my Adidas Superstar sneakers, such a comfortable shoe for all the walking we did.

Why I wore it:

This was another fun day! I'm even wearing a couple of pieces that my mum bought for me on our day out shopping above. I just had to wear my new little resin earrings right away, I thought they went nicely with the coral pink Kmart tiered dress, even though they are a little hard to see because of my hair. I already have this tiered Kmart midi dress in fuchsia pink and in orange, but I loved this coral colour! As it was on sale Mum offered to get it for me along with the pink resin earrings, and another cute purple pair too.

The sneakers are a Kmart pair too, ones I hadn't worn in a while so they were due another wearing!

I layered the dress up a bit for a cold morning. I had the school run, a vet appointment for Cooper, and then in the afternoon I took advantage of having the day off to spend a couple hours at school watching the kids sports event. They did really well, very proud of them! It was such a warm day that I ended up taking the denim jacket off, although when we spent some time at the playground in the afternoon with my Mum I had pulled the jacket back on. It got cold quickly, even with this cosy wool blend Louis Vuitton scarf.

Jeans, Striped Tees and Colourful Cardigans With Chloe Small Paraty Bag

Skinny jeans, stripes, sneakers, and colourful cardigan outfits for winter days. I feel I wear jeans every single day, I've gotten a bit lazy with my winter dressing. At least the colour schemes of these outfits are a little varied!

Why I wore it:

I love purple and blue together, although this bright blue Louis Vuitton shawl does steal all the attention away from the cute purple cardi! Despite it being a rainy day it wasn't too cold - so this light cardigan over the navy striped tee was all I needed to stay warm. 

I had the school drop off, an appointment afterwards, and then worked from home until it was time to pick the kids up, and we had a quick shop at Kmart. Thankfully the rain stopped in the afternoon, although it was a little bit of a pain doing the morning drop off in the rain! This scarf is so good at keeping me warm though.

Wore my little Chloe Paraty bag in periwinkle blue, even though it doesn't match the navy stripes of the tee or the bright blue of the scarf, I thought it complimented those shades and the purple cardigan nicely. It also fit a library book for me to read while waiting at my appointment - had such a nice chat with the nurse about the kinds of books we like to read.

Why I wore it:

This was a particularly windy day - perhaps a thicker cardigan may have worked better! Maybe even tying my hair back - the wind wasn't kind to it even though I wasn't outside long snapping these pics!

Another quiet day with the school run and working from home. I wanted to wear this mustard cardigan with the navy striped Coca-Cola tee - both were thrift finds from a sadly now closed local opshop. Surprisingly I haven't worn them together before! I felt they were a really good combination and added a lot of lightness to this outfit that would have been a bit neutral otherwise with the white Stan Smith sneakers and the grey skinny jeans.

Again, the Chloe small Paraty bag doesn't match any of the colours in the outfit, but I thought it complimented the mustard nicely.

Printed Maxi Dresses With Colourful Scarves, Denim Jackets and Balenciaga Bags

Layering up some maxi dresses for a windy winter weekend last month where we attended two different birthday parties. Added ankle boots, denim jackets and some big colourful scarves to keep me cosy outdoors in the wind, and my Balenciaga bags for a bit of colour. Wore some statement earrings for the first time in a while too to feel a little more dressed up!

What I wore:

Why I wore it:

Knowing how windy it was going to be I added a grey tee over this floral maxi dress to keep me a little warmer. It was nice in the sun, but we spent the birthday party in the shade so we felt the worst of the wind and I was grateful I'd added the tee! The denim jacket wasn't as warm as I'd have liked but the big Louis Vuitton shawl is a wool blend and so was perfect for the breeze. The kids had a great time at the party, although there were definitely too much chocolate and lollies consumed 😂 Sign of a successful party though if you eat too much good food! Plenty of cake to go around too, even though the re-introduced COVID restrictions of 10 people gatherings announced the day before meant it was cut in half, to save some for the other guests who were coming in the afternoon!

I wasn't sure if the tempete blue Balenciaga day bag would be too much blue with this outfit, with the light wash of the denim jacket and the cobalt blue of the scarf, but I think all the blues went really nicely with the blue in the floral print of the dress. Even if the dress was picked up quite a lot in the wind and probably not the best choice for the day!

Why I wore it:

This was a really fun party! Our last one before the 10 people gathering restriction came into place, as we didn't know until after the party that the restriction had just been put in place that morning with immediate effect! The kids had a blast at a playground we hadn't been to before, running around with their friends and again eating lots of party food. It was nice to meet some of the parents of my kids friends I hadn't spoken too before too, as you can't really talk during the school run when you're trying to keep your distance.

With the blue maxi dress, navy statement earrings and indigo denim jacket this felt a bit too monochrome, so I added some pink accessories to brighten it up a bit! It's not the first time I've worn this hot pink scarf and pink Balenciaga sorbet city bag together before, I really like the combination and pink always works so well with blue.

Despite another windy day I was pretty warm as there was plenty of running around after the kids in the playground, and helping the little one with some things he was just a bit too small for. He gave it a good go though. By the end of the party I was wishing I'd picked different shoes! These ankle boots have the tiniest heel but it was hard work with my injured knee.

Layering Over Maxi Dresses With Cosy Scarves and Rebecca Minkoff Small Darren Bag

After a little bit of warm weather, the Ekka winds arrived in Brisbane and it started to get chilly again for the end of winter. I decided to add a few extra layers to my maxi dresses to combat the cold winds.

What I wore:

Why I wore it:

This was a big day for my eldest boy, as we all gathered to watch him compete for the first time. It was nice restrictions were relaxed so they were able to host a big sporting event, his first one after the restrictions had prevented any this year.

Wanted to be bright and colourful as I sat on the sidelines to support him, and so I wore my fave floral maxi dress, this tiered coral one from Kmart. Added the blue long sleeved tee over the top as I thought it looked better than underneath, and as it was still a little chilly I wore my cosy turquoise pashmina. I thought it matched nicely with the print on the dress and I loved how it popped with the blue tee.

The pastel pink Rebecca Minkoff small Darren messenger bag was picked as it was big enough for my camera and because I hadn't worn it with this coral dress before. It was a nice combo, I'm pleased I gave it a try!

Why I wore it:

I didn't like this outfit as much, I felt a little overdressed in this, but also under-dressed for the cold! Unlike the first outfit this was a fairly normal day with the school run and a regular sports class in the evening. By the evening though I was so cold I'd added a coat over this - it was a really chilly day!

Even with the white jumper over this blue printed maxi dress it felt a little too dressed up for such a quiet day, especially as I spent as little time outside in the wind as possible and most of it at home 😂

I did like the colour combo here with the blush pink Darren messenger bag against the blue and white, and I think the white knit broke up the navy printed maxi dress enough that the cobalt Louis Vuitton shawl worked well with it. Just not one of my favourite outfits.
