Metallic Tops and Shorts With Green Mini 5-Zip Bag

Adding a little interest to simple shorts outfits with metallic tops this summer.

What I wore:

Jacket: thrifted no label tropical print tassel cover up
Necklace: thrifted wooden geometric bead necklace
Singlet: Jeanswest Maji metallic tank in soft green and silver
Shorts:  thrifted Kmart turquoise linen shorts
Shoesslim navy and pink Havaianas
Bracelets: the usual
BagRebecca Minkoff emerald green mini 5-zip rocker bag

Why I wore it:

This was another hot and humid Brisbane day and I had to go out for a couple of appointments. I went with this metallic tank and my comfortable linen shorts. They are great in the heat. I added the cover up for a little sun coverage on my bare shoulders, and I really liked the colours of the print with the turquoise shorts. The blue was a nice pairing with the turquoise linen shorts, with the green in the print as well I decided to go for green accessories. This Rebecca Minkoff green mini 5-zip bag and the geometric beaded necklace have been worn together frequently, it's a combination I really enjoy accessorising with.
Another metallic top and tee outfit! We decided to put one of the gift vouchers the kids got for Christmas to use and headed out to an indoor play area for an extended session. The boys loved it! I had my latest book in the reusable tote filled with their water bottles as well, as I got to sit and read and relax as they played and had a great time.

I thought this metallic gold tee was a nice choice, a little more dressy than a plain tee, and I liked it with the black printed shorts. Again I added green accessories, with the same Rebecca Minkoff green mini 5-zip bag and a different green beaded necklace. The sneakers were comfortable as well, and good for driving around a little after before heading home for lunch.

Last worn: metallic linen tee, green beaded necklace, black printed shorts, Nike Court Royale sneakers, Rebecca Minkoff green mini 5-zip bag (above).

Other ways to wearmetallic linen tee worn 2 ways, black printed shorts and graphic tee, Nike Court Royale sneakers and dress, Rebecca Minkoff green mini 5-zip bag and jeans.

Blue, Red and Yellow Maxi Skirt Outfits

Two different maxi skirt outfits, both colourful with blue, yellow and red for a couple of quiet days in the school holidays.

What I wore:

Necklace: handmade silver and gold faux pearl beaded necklace
Tee: Anko Kmart short sleeve slub v-neck tee in blu marine
Skirt: thrifted NWT Beginning Boutique Sahara red-orange maxi skirt
Shoes: Kmart tan crossover slides
Bracelets: the usual plus Vinnies blue and natural wooden bead bracelet stack
BagRebecca Minkoff yellow mini 5 zip

Why I wore it:

I got this blue tee from mum for Christmas and knew it would be perfect with this red tiered maxi skirt I thrifted last year. I really like blue and red together! I added a little extra colour with the yellow mini 5 zip bag. It's a fun pop with the red.

The necklace is one I made from some old thread I had. I had thrifted a faux suede threaded beaded necklace and it kept snapping, our climate is not great for faux leather as the humidity makes it disintegrate. So I rebuilt the necklace on thread as best as I could, but had these beads left over. Decided to make them into a little necklace of their own. I liked the simplicity of this resulting necklace.

Very colourful for a quiet day, just a couple of errands to run and an appointment in the afternoon.

Last worn: red tiered maxi skirt, bracelet stack, tan slides, Rebecca Minkoff mini 5 zip bag. First time I've worn the blue tee as it was a Christmas present and first time I've worn the necklace as I recently made it.

Other ways to wearred tiered maxi skirt and denim jacket, tan slides and dress, Rebecca Minkoff mini 5 zip bag and shorts.

What I wore:

Earring: candy cane hoop earrings
Necklace: thrifted chartreuse necklace
Tank: Jeanswest 'Hannah' print tank in paradise pink multi
Skirt: thrifted navy viscose drawstring no label maxi skirt
Shoes: Kmart tan crossover slides
Bracelets: the usual
BagRebecca Minkoff yellow mini 5 zip

Why I wore it:

This was a much hotter and more humid day than the one above, so I went with this super lightweight viscose maxi skirt. Like the maxi skirt above, it's an opshop find, and with the light viscose and the side slits it's perfect on a hot day. Again I added the yellow Rebecca Minkoff mini 5-zip bag, and went a little matchy-matchy with the chartreuse necklace. I think the pieces are far enough apart in my outfit that you don't notice they aren't a perfect match as much, and I enjoyed the two pieces together last time I paired them. I wore my coral brushstroke stripe tank, as it's also a nice light material.

We had a couple of errands to run and an event at the library for the kids. It was nice to spend some time in the aircon at the shops and at the library. We have attended a lot of library events over the school holidays, they had some really fun things on that the kids enjoyed as much as this session. Again I just wore these simple slides, it was too hot for closed in shoes.
