Our theme today is pearls. I have a few pearl accessories I like wearing a lot when the weather warms up, and it's been a very hot spring so far! Sharing two different outfits I've worn recently, a casual outfit with real freshwater pearls and a more dressed up one with faux pearls.
Jacket: Jeanswest Eliza summer poncho in yellow floral
Necklace: Roie Designs long freshwater pearl necklace with tassel
Tee: Atmos&Here charcoal grey v neck tee
Shorts: Jeanswest Tessa olive embroidered shorts
Shoes: Converse Chuck Taylor All Star low in white
Bag: Rebecca Minkoff MAB Camera Bag in almond
What I wore:
Necklace: Roie Designs long freshwater pearl necklace with tassel
Tee: Atmos&Here charcoal grey v neck tee
Shorts: Jeanswest Tessa olive embroidered shorts
Shoes: Converse Chuck Taylor All Star low in white
Bag: Rebecca Minkoff MAB Camera Bag in almond
Why I wore it:
This freshwater pearl necklace is a firm favourite and is one I constantly wear on repeat! It's been worn over 34 times since I bought it. I love the long length and the mix of textures with the leather tassel and the coin pendant. It just goes with everything and is a great touch with a casual outfit. Freshwater pearls are perfect for a casual outfit, you don't have to dress up in pearls! The olive embroidered shorts are so nice to wear in summer, being a soft pull-on style. I like wearing them with yellow and this yellow printed kimono is such a summery combination. As the kimono is so bold I went with a classic neutral grey tee as a base, and a tan bag. Even if this little Rebecca Minkoff MAB camera bag does struggle to fit both my things and my son's water bottle we brought along for our little walk on our fave trail after the school pick up!
Last worn: yellow kimono, pearl tassel necklace, grey tee, olive embroidered shorts, Converse, Rebecca Minkoff MAB camera bag.
Other ways to wear: yellow kimono and printed tee, grey tee and maxi skirt, olive embroidered shorts and stripes, Converse and jeans, Rebecca Minkoff MAB camera bag and floral dress.
Perfect for pregnancy: grey tee in third trimester, Converse in second trimester.
My Rebecca Minkoff Handbag Collection:
What I wore:
Necklace: Roie Designs faux pearl and black satin ribbon necklace
Dress: Jeanswest 'Chantelle' crochet detail blue printed maxi dress
Shoes: Marc by Marc Jacobs silver tuxedo flats
Bracelets: the usual plus faux pearl bracelet stack
Bag: Rebecca Minkoff Edie small crossbody bag in magenta
Why I wore it:
This is a slightly more dressed up outfit - although still just as comfortable for a hot and humid day! This time around I accessorised with some faux pearls. This necklace is fun and it ties with a long black ribbon in the back, so very comfortable to wear in spring and summer! I added the faux pearl bracelet stack too, again to try make my casual jersey maxi dress seem a little more pulled together. We had a playdate with one of my son's friends from school, which was really good. I'd expected to have more playdates this year but the virus has made it tricky! With the faux pearls and blue printed maxi dress I wanted to add a little extra colour so I went with this Rebecca Minkoff Edie crossbody bag in magenta. It really pops with navy and I like how the quilted style makes the outfit a little dressier too.
Had thought about wearing sandals with this but as all mine have buckles and I wasn't sure on the "shoes in the house" policy at my son's friend's place I decided on these silver slip on ballet flats instead so I could easily remove them if needed. I've worn them a lot with this dress in the past, it's a nice combination, especially with the silver hardware on the bag.
Last worn: blue printed maxi dress, faux pearl necklace, faux pearl bracelet stack, silver ballet flats, Rebecca Minkoff Edie Bag.
Other ways to wear: blue printed maxi dress layered with a knit, silver ballet flats and printed skirt, Rebecca Minkoff Edie Bag in the office.
Perfect for pregnancy: blue printed maxi dress at 39 weeks, silver ballet flats in third trimester.
How You Can Wear It:
Pearls are a really versatile accessory! Real or faux they are so easy to add to an outfit, no matter your style. You can try a necklace, bracelets, or even earrings and you can get pearl embellished clothing too!

Mica, you look fabulous! You know, I am really loving that kimono and the fun tassel necklace with pearls. How cool is that?! And the stacked pearl bracelets with your beautiful blue maxi dress are so fun, too! I love loading on piles and piles of pearls! This was a fun theme!

DeleteI love that you showed two different ways to wear pearls - casually and a little dressier. They are so versatile and it's a great reminder to take them out and wear them! You can never go wrong with pearls!

I love the idea of magnificent 8. I love the way you wore your pearls Mica. I can never decide with what color and dress pearls will look good. Most of the time I wear and take it off. :-) You are looking fabulous in the blue dress. That yellow kimono is so pretty on you. :-)

I am so glad it has been a warm spring so far! That must be really nice. (I am certainly jealous of that warm weather!) Both of these outfits are just stunning. Pearls always add so much elegance to a look.

I actually only have 1 set of real pearls but I never wear them because they feel too fancy. But I did recently get a single pearl necklace and matching earrings that I love! Super pretty.
ReplyDeleteI love how both of these looks are so different but wearable at the same time. The blue maxi dress is always a favorite of mine, such a great color on you

The pearls look lovely! I used to have some but Im not sure where they are. I'm not very good at accessorising outfits, I used to have loads of different bracelets and things but now I just wear the same necklace my partner bought me every day ha.

Apart from a handful of pearly brooches, I do have some pearl necklaces, inherited from my Great Aunt, who was a very stylish lady back in her day! I'm loving both your outfits here, the first one proving firmly that pearls can be worn in a casual way. And you look absolutely fabulous in your maxi dress worn with the classic string of pearls and magenta handbag! xxx
ReplyDeleteWearing pearl earrings and have some bracelets too, need to wear those more often. Love both of your necklaces.

Lovely outfits!
ReplyDeleteI love that pearl bracelet stack! I am actually looking at a pearl bracelet stack for my Apple watch of all things. :) I have just one single strand pearl necklace from my wedding and I don't wear it very often, but I need to!
