Maxi Dresses And Kimonos With Ankle Boots And Louis Vuitton Neverfull Tote

I love layering my maxi dresses up a little for cooler weather. On Brisbane's mild autumn days, a little extra layer is all you need for the cooler mornings and evenings. A kimono is perfect!

What I wore:

Necklace: Kmart navy and gold beaded tassel necklace
Dress: Kmart Tropicana sleeveless tiered maxi dress
ShoesAcne pistol boots in "skin"
BagLouis Vuitton MM damier azur neverfull

Why I wore it:

Picked this maxi dress to wear for a family birthday dinner, but with the much cooler evening I knew I'd need an extra layer. I've worn my denim jacket with this maxi dress often, so I thought I'd try something a little different and picked this pretty crochet trim kimono instead. Being white I didn't have to worry about it clashing with the print at all.

I added the Acne pistol ankle boots for a little extra warmth. I tend to stay away from heels now with the boys but I used to wear these all the time pre-babies, they are quite comfortable and I figured dinner was a good way to reintroduce them to my wardrobe - not too much walking at all, haha!

The Louis Vuitton neverfull is a much bigger bag than I needed for dinner but it worked so well with the white kimono I had to give it a wear :)

Last worn: crochet trim kimono, navy and gold tassel necklace, Kmart floral maxi dress, Acne Pistol boots, Louis Vuitton damier azur neverfull.

Necklace: M initial silver pendant necklace

Shoes: RMK Chester black ankle boots

Why I wore it:

Since I liked the first outfit so much, I decided to wear something similar to church. I stuck with the Louis Vuitton neverfull tote as it was already filled from the day before and I usually carry a couple of books for the boys to read quietly during the service anyway. Perfect tote for that!

I picked black ankle boots but they kind of blend into the black maxi dress a little! The necklace pick I was happier with - I am sometimes a little unsure what to pair with this dress as it has the embellished neckline, but the sparkly M initial necklace looked great.

It's not the first time I've worn this maxi dress with a kimono, but it is the first time I've paired this floral one with it. I liked the navy with the black, and the cosy kimono kept my shoulders warm in church.

How You Can Wear It:

A maxi dress is not just a summer piece - it works well into autumn too with a few more layers! Ankle boots are an obvious choice to keep your feet cosy, and a light kimono can protect against some of the early morning or evening autumn chill in the air.
