Navy Dresses And Cobalt Jumbo Love Bag

Two working from home days with some appointments for the kids had me reaching for easy and comfortable dresses. Both these navy dresses I accessorised with statement thrifted necklace, and my cobalt blue Rebecca Minkoff Jumbo Love bag. I like wearing different shades of blues together, and cobalt and navy are a great combo!

What I wore:

Necklace: thrifted burgundy and cream beaded statement necklace
DressAtmos&Here navy stripe tee dress
ShoesAdidas Superstar sneakers
Bracelets: the usual
BagRebecca Minkoff quilted jumbo Love bag in cobalt

Why I wore it:

I had an early start to my work day at home as I had to take my son to an appointment just before school started. As it was a little cooler in the autumn morning I wore this long sleeved navy and black striped shift dress. I did wish in the afternoon I hadn't worn something quite so cosy, when the sun came out!

I did like this outfit otherwise though - was nice for the appointment and comfortable for working at my desk the rest of the time. I like the cobalt of the Jumbo Love bag against the navy and black stripes, and the beaded necklace adds a nice contrasting bit of colour with the burgundy beads and neutral natural wood beads.

Perfect for pregnancynavy shift dress in second trimester.

What I wore:

Necklace: thrifted flat peach statement bead necklace
Dress: Kmart short sleeve tiered knit dress in indigo ink with pockets
Shoes: Kmart tan crossover slides
Bracelets: the usual
BagRebecca Minkoff quilted jumbo Love bag in cobalt

Why I wore it:

Another work from home and appointment day, another navy dress! This tiered one from Kmart is the best as it has pockets! Not that I needed the pockets with the jumbo love bag, it has enough space for all of my essentials and more.

With the cobalt blue and the navy tiered dress, again I felt like I needed a little extra colour, so I added this thrifted orange necklace for an extra pop. I really like orange and blue. Just added the tan slides for being comfortable - after school pick up I had to take the kids for an appointment but I didn't have to drive far.

Last worn: navy tiered dress, orange necklace, tan slides, Rebecca Minkoff Jumbo Love bag (above).

Tiered Linen Dresses And Cobalt Jumbo Love Bag

Two colourful, tiered linen dresses worn with my cobalt Rebecca Minkoff jumbo Love bag for a pop of colour.

What I wore:

Necklace: navy and silver circle pendant tassel necklace
Dress: Kmart short sleeve tiered frill mini dress in Papaya
Shoes: Kmart tan crossover slides
Bracelets: the usual plus silver and turquoise bracelet stack
BagRebecca Minkoff quilted jumbo Love bag in cobalt

Why I wore it:

This is such a comfortable dress! I love the bright papaya colour, it makes a beautiful statement on its own. I decided to add some blue with it this time when I wore it. The navy tassel necklace and silver and turquoise bracelet stacks are both different shades from the cobalt jumbo Love bag, but I think all the shades of blue worked well with the brightness of this dress.

The cobalt Rebecca Minkoff Jumbo love bag was a practical choice too! I had the school run, working from home, and then an appointment for my son in the afternoon. The jumbo Love bag meant I could easily bring a book along to read while waiting at the appointment.

Last worn: tiered linen dress, navy tassel necklace, turquoise and silver bracelet stack, tan slides, Rebecca Minkoff cobalt Jumbo Love bag.

Other ways to weartiered linen dress and pastel bag, tan slides and maxi skirt, Rebecca Minkoff cobalt Jumbo Love bag and jeans.

What I wore:

Necklace: thrifted blue statement beaded necklace
DressJeanswest Lilah tiered linen dress in orange
ShoesAdidas Superstar sneakers
Bracelets: the usual
BagRebecca Minkoff quilted jumbo Love bag in cobalt

Why I wore it:

More blue accessories with a bright citrus-y tiered dress! This orange linen dress is one my mum got me for Christmas and just like the more yellowish one above, I like wearing this orange dress with blue. Again, the necklace and bag are different shades of blue and not an exact match, but I liked the two together against the orange dress.

Unlike the first outfit, I wore this on a bit of a wet day so I wore my Adidas Superstar sneakers again. I liked the closed in shoes to keep my feet dry in the rain, although thankfully it did clear up a little later in the morning. I had the school run, working from home, and an appointment for my son so had a little bit of driving to do and comfortable sneakers were much needed for that.

Last worn: orange tiered linen dress, navy lozenge necklace, Adidas Superstar sneakers, Rebecca Minkoff cobalt Jumbo Love bag (above).

2 Ways to Wear: Orange Sherbet Zoe Tiered Maxi Dress in Geranium Print Pink

I picked up this beautiful Orange Sherbet Zoe tiered maxi dress at Gladrags Markets recently. It's been on frequent repeat since! The trio of friends running a stall let me try on a few of the pretty dresses that they had for sale, and it was so hard picking just one, but I'm so pleased with this. I do love a floral print dress, and the pinks and red in this dress work so well together! As it is winter I have had to do a little layering with this short sleeved dress.

What I wore:

denim jacket, cobalt Love jumbo bag with Orange Sherbet Zoe tiered dress in geranium print pink and sneakers | awayfromblue

Rebecca Minkoff quilted jumbo Love bag in cobalt | awayfromblue

Jacket: Bubblegum denim jacket
Necklace: Tiffany & Co silver 5th Avenue notes heart pendant necklace
Dress: Orange Sherbet Zoe tiered dress in geranium print pink
Shoesthrifted Adidas Superstar sneakers
Bracelets: the usual plus Mimco gunmetal twisted bracelet stack
BagRebecca Minkoff quilted jumbo Love bag in cobalt

Why I wore it:

I love pink and blue together, so a classic indigo wash denim jacket and cobalt Rebecca Minkoff jumbo love bag seemed like the perfect accessories to try out with this dress. I love the bright cobalt blue of the bag against the red and pink geranium print on the dress. And a classic denim jacket like this goes with everything! You can see 30 ways I've worn this denim jacket here.

The Mimco bracelet stack was also a bargain find from Gladrags Markets, and I liked having a bracelet stack on each arm. Picked my comfortable Adidas Superstar sneakers to wear as we had a kids birthday party at an indoor play area to enjoy that morning.

Why I wore it:

This is actually the first time I wore this dress. It was a really cold morning, with the school run and then working from home, so the perfect opportunity to wear some of the new pieces I'd picked up at Gladrags Markets that weekend. I got this coral necklace for just $2! I like the colour with the floral print on the maxi dress, even if it isn't a perfect match to the red or pink. The leather jacket was a super cosy and super cheap buy from the markets too - beautifully preloved, it's so comfortable, and I was very grateful for it and the ankle boots on this chilly day. I had a slip on under the dress as well!

Office Outfits: Blazers And Pencil Skirts With Converse | Weekday Wear Link Up

Sharing two pencil skirt and blazer outfits with Converse that I wore into the office recently for today's Weekday Wear Link Up.

What I wore:

Rebecca Minkoff quilted jumbo Love bag in cobalt

EarringsKmart blue fringe crescent statement earrings
Jacket
: thrifted Valleygirl navy jersey blazer
Necklace: thrifted wooden geometric bead necklace
TopJeanswest Elissa leaf print tank
SkirtAtmos&Here grey marle jersey pencil skirt
ShoesConverse Chuck Taylor All Star low in white
Bracelets: the usual
BagRebecca Minkoff quilted jumbo Love bag in cobalt

Why I wore it:

I felt this tank was overdue another wear. I haven't worn it since September last year. I've worn it to the office quite a few times (and also with this grey skirt previously). It doesn't get worn as much in my casual everyday wardrobe, when I really should wear and enjoy it more often. It was good to get it out again for another office day, and I felt the navy blazer dressed up the printed tank and casual knit skirt nicely.

The only downside of this tank is that it can get a bit crinkled - as you can see from the photos, where it popped out from the waistband of the skirt after a frantic and very humid morning as I was rushing around trying to get everything ready before running out the door to drop the kids off at school and driving to the office.

Thought I'd try this chunky wooden necklace with the outfit, even though only the navy bead matches anything. I liked it on the day, but looking at the photos now, maybe a different necklace would have worked better.

Last worn: navy blazer, geometric wood necklace, earringsleaf print tank, grey pencil skirt, Converse, Rebecca Minkoff jumbo Love bag.

Other ways to wearnavy blazer and sheath dress, leaf print tank worn two ways, grey pencil skirt worn two ways, Converse and dress, Rebecca Minkoff jumbo Love bag and jeans.

All The Blue Bags In My Handbag Collection:

What I wore:

Rebecca Minkoff mini MAC in aquamarine with python embossed leather

Jacket: Jeanswest Nadine 3/4 sleeve dusky pink blazer
Necklace: thrifted wood and marble bead thrifted necklace with white string (new purchase)
Top: thrifted Kmart dusty rose cami
SkirtWarehouse navy jacquard pencil skirt
ShoesConverse Chuck Taylor All Star low in black
Bracelets: the usual
BagRebecca Minkoff mini MAC in aquamarine with python embossed leather (get it in pink)

Why I wore it:

This pastel pink blazer was another piece I was looking at in my wardrobe and realising it hadn't been worn enough - so I paired it with this jacquard skirt for the office. It's been good getting into the office more regularly, even if just to wear pieces from the "corporate" section of my wardrobe which have been pretty neglected the past couple of years. This blazer is one that I have worn casually, but a blazer is definitely an office day staple for me.

I was surprised how brown the blush pink blazer made the tank look! I did really like the combination though. I do like the aqua of the mini MAC against the pastel pink of the blazer, but maybe another bag would have been better with this outfit as a whole, like a navy or black one. I'd just been using the mini MAC the day before and it was easier keeping all my things in it and using it for work, less things to get organised in the morning before the rush to the office! I'm also trying to be more open to different colour combinations, so it was good to give this a try, even if I wouldn't repeat it again with this outfit.

Last worn: blush blazer, dusty rose cami, jacquard pencil skirt, Converse, aqua mini MAC. First time I've worn the necklace as it was a recent opshop find.

Other ways to wearblush blazer worn 2 ways, dusty rose cami and shorts, jacquard pencil skirt and cardigan, Converse and jeans, aqua mini MAC with orange.

Orange Tops, Cobalt Bag, Floral Kimonos and Denim

Two bright and colourful outfits, wearing some orange tops with my cobalt blue Rebecca Minkoff Jumbo love bag. Although we don't really celebrate Halloween here in Australia, it being October seemed like a good reason to get these orange tops out again, and pair them with some other colourful pieces too!

What I wore:

orange cami, grey skinny jeans, converse, floral duster, cobalt jumbo love bag | awayfromblue

JacketJeanswest Melanie floral kimono
Necklace: thrifted blue statement beaded necklace
TopNew Look orange strappy cami top
Jeans: Jeanswest Cecile dove grey skinny jeans
ShoesConverse Chuck Taylor All Star low in white
Bracelets: the usual plus turquoise and silver bracelet stack
BagRebecca Minkoff quilted jumbo Love bag in cobalt

Why I wore it:

This was a very busy day so I went with the "clothing as armour" approach Sheila favours and dressed nice and brightly! I have worn this navy floral duster with orange before, but not this orange cami. I really think it popped, especially with the cobalt blue Jumbo Love bag. With the blue bag I just had to go matchy-matchy with the blue necklace too. I added another shade of blue against the bag, kimono and necklace, with the turquoise and silver bracelet stack as well! I kept the rest of my outfit neutral with the grey skinny jeans and the white Converse.

I had an appointment after school drop off I needed to bring some paperwork along for, so the Jumbo Love bag was a great size! After working from home and then doing the school pick up, I had an appointment for my son in the afternoon too. A very busy day! The Converse were good for all that driving around.

Skirt: thrifted Target black stretch denim skirt

Bracelets: the usual

Why I wore it:

This was not quite the outfit I had planned to wear!

Similar to the outfit above, I was going to wear jeans with this, as it was predicted to be a very wet Spring day here in Brisbane. However it was so hot and humid that morning I decided to go with this black denim skirt instead of my black jeans. Definitely a good choice, it was so humid on the school run, although thankfully hadn't started raining. Even when the storm and rain hit in the afternoon I was glad I'd picked the skirt over jeans as it was still quite warm while picking up the kids, despite the rain.

This kimono has a little bit of orange in the floral print with a few orange leaves. It doesn't quite match the shade of the marigold orange tee, but I thought they complimented each other nicely enough. And just like the first outfit, there was a little matchy-matchy with the cobalt bag too, as there are blue leaves in the print of this kimono as well.

Knowing it was going to be a very wet day I picked my most supportive shoes. I did regret that decision on the way home from school when I accidentally stood in a puddle and it soaked right through the perforated fabric uppers on these sneakers! Thankfully it was on our way home so I could dry off afterwards!

How You Can Wear It:

Orange and blue always look so good together, in any combination of the shades! If you're not sure about it, try it in small amounts, like a blue bag with an orange top, as I have in these outfits.

Dressed Up: Maxi Dresses and Rebecca Minkoff Love Bags

I hope you have a wonderful Christmas! While I've worn both of these dresses for Christmas before (here and here) I'm wearing a different dress for Christmas this year. I wore both these maxi dresses for a couple of events earlier in the month.

What I wore:

Jeanswest Sophia high-low colourful mandala print maxi dress with orange love bag for family photoshoot | awayfromblue

Dress: Jeanswest Sophia high-low maxi dress
ShoesRebecca Minkoff Georgina studded gladiator sandals in blush
Bracelets: the usual
BagRebecca Minkoff chevron quilted small Love crossbody bag in pale coral

Why I wore it:

I wore this for a family photo shoot. We did our annual family photos that we put in our Christmas cards back in November, but the in-laws had booked in some time with a photographer to get photos of their extended family. Couldn't decide what dress to wear as we hadn't been told to try coordinate or wear any particular colour, just to not dress too casually. Decided this colourful dress would work with whatever everyone else was wearing, with all the colours in the print. Thankfully we were well prepared with bug spray too as the photos were in the afternoon and there were a lot of bugs around.

As well as carrying my usual essentials with my phone and wallet, I decided to bring along a couple books for the boys and all our water bottles. Put all of that in the big backpack so it was easy to carry, and decided to wear this little peach Rebecca Minkoff small Love bag just for my essentials. Didn't really need it, just thought it would be helpful to have everything I needed close by and not have to rummage through the backpack when my phone went off. There isn't any orange in the print of this dress but I liked the contrast the orange small Love bag gave with it.

Kept it simple with the rest of the accessories that were actually in the photos, with these staple sentimental Tiffany necklaces and some earrings hubby bought me.

What I wore:

Earrings: Piper glass beaded chandelier earring in cream and gold
Dress: Jeanswest 'Sierra' embellished black maxi dress
ShoesWittner 'Jasmarie' studded sandals
Bracelets: the usual

Why I wore it:

Wore this for a fun family event my son was performing in. It was fun to get dressed up! After this big event in the morning we had lunch at home and then got changed for our trip to Movie World theme park that afternoon. I liked this outfit, just wanted something more festive for the Christmas experience at the theme park!

It's been a while since I last wore this maxi dress so it's either stretched out on the hanger or I've forgotten how long it was - with my flat sandals I felt I kept tripping over the long hem on this! Really need to get it altered to be a better length on me. With the beautiful beading on the neckline I couldn't decide what necklace to wear - decided not to wear one in the end and wear these big statement beaded earrings instead. The gold beads on the earrings coordinated nicely with the gold beads on the dress and when I tried it on I was pleased it didn't look as overly accessorised as I thought, it was a nice combination.

The big bold cobalt Love bag was a practical choice to fit all my essentials and my camera in it for taking photos and video of my son up on stage. Hubby had the backpack with everyone's water bottles in it too. It was a really fun morning, although I did feel overdressed when we stopped to do an errand on the way home, ha!

How You Can Wear It:

When you're not sure what to wear a pretty maxi dress is perfect - easy to dress up or dress down. And of course I can never resist adding more colour to an outfit with a bright bag!

I hope you have a very Merry Christmas on Saturday and get to enjoy time with family and friends! I'll have a post up on Monday for the regular Weekday Wear Link up as usual, and a few more scheduled posts over the Christmas season.

Bright Tees, Printed Jeans, Rebecca Minkoff Jumbo Love Bag

Two simple but colourful jeans and tee outfits I wore for spring, with my big cobalt Rebecca Minkoff Love bag, printed jeans, and bright v-neck tees. Easy mum life outfits!

What I wore:

pink leopard print jeans with purple tee, cobalt jumbo Rebecca Minkoff Love Bag and Converse | awayfromtheblue

pink and purple outfit with Rebecca Minkoff quilted jumbo Love bag in cobalt | awayfromblue

NecklaceZuriCollections blue polymer clay necklace
Tee: Spectrum basic v-neck tee in washed lilac
Jeans: Portmans pink leopard print skinny jeans
ShoesConverse Chuck Taylor All Star low in white
Bracelets: the usual plus Cora purpleheart and mother of pearl watch c/o JORD
BagRebecca Minkoff quilted jumbo Love bag in cobalt

Why I wore it:

This was a busy day! After the school run the little one and I stopped off at the playground for a run around, then it was on to the library. We were about to head home before they said they had a babies books and rhymes session and asked if we and another family wanted to join, and they would make it more of a toddler session. It's something I used to do a lot with the kids when they were younger, so we stayed a little longer for it. I was happy I remembered some of the nursery rhymes to sing along to, ha! I think the little one liked it too, lots of giggles. After that it was home for lunch, a quick appointment then the school pick up and sports in the evening.

I loved the blue, purple and pink in this outfit. I don't wear these leopard print jeans as much as I used to but they do tend to make an appearance or two every spring, they are really fun! I was so sure I'd worn this purple tee with them before but was surprised to look through my blog archives and see that I hadn't. Pink, blue and purple is a trio I love so the cobalt Rebecca Minkoff jumbo love bag was a great accessory with the colourful outfit.

What I wore:

BagRebecca Minkoff quilted jumbo Love bag in cobalt

Why I wore it:

Another bright outfit! I feel this orange tee always photographs a bit more neon than it really is - it doesn't seem as in-your-face in person! It was the perfect tee to wear to go along to another sports event at school and surprise my son. With the printed jeans and orange tee he had no trouble spotting me on the sidelines! I picked the jumbo Love bag to wear again as I needed a bag to fit both my essentials and my camera to take pics of him having fun on the day.

The one thing I did change about this outfit was adding a cardigan. It was a little breezy when I went out to take pics and hadn't settled down when I left so I grabbed a cardigan before I went out the door, and so didn't add sunscreen to my arms. Quickly realised that standing in the shade free sidelines a cardigan wasn't needed though, and sadly paid the price with some sunburnt arms! That explains the slight pinkness in the outfit above, which I wore the day after.

I had time for a quick little shop to pick up some Christmas presents and lunch before picking up my little one early and taking him to a special doctor's appointment. He'd been on the waitlist for a while and the appointment kept getting rescheduled with lockdowns and unavailable doctors and things so when they had a cancellation I took it! Such good timing for us as I'd taken the day off to watch my son compete and wouldn't have been able to take it otherwise.

Last worn: mango tee, tassel necklace, chevron print skinny jeans, New Balance sneakers, Rebecca Minkoff jumbo Love bag (above).

Other ways to wearmango tee and culottes, chevron print skinny jeans with pink and purpleRebecca Minkoff jumbo Love bag and dress.

How You Can Wear It:
Printed jeans are a fun choice over traditional blue denim, and they are easy to wear with a plain v-neck tee. You can try wearing a bright tee to add even more colour to your outfit.

Floral Kimonos, Colourful Tanks and Black Denim With Rebecca Minkoff Love Bags | Weekday Wear Link Up

Two spring outfits with floral kimonos, bright tanks and black denim for a couple of fun days back in September.

Rebecca Minkoff chevron quilted small Love crossbody bag in pale coral with floral duster and satin pink tank | awayfromblue

awayfromtheblue Instagram | satin pink tank with black skinny jeans floral duster kimono peach bag

Shoesthrifted Adidas Superstar sneakers
Bracelets: the usual plus Cora purpleheart and mother of pearl watch c/o JORD
BagRebecca Minkoff chevron quilted small Love crossbody bag in pale coral

Why I wore it:

This had been a much warmer than expected spring day so I didn't want to layer up too much for a BBQ at a friend's place that evening. Definitely needed to change my outfit to this though - after being at a playdate at the park in the morning I had some lovely little strawberry stains all over my tee courtesy of my little one!

This long duster kimono with the black Nobody Denim skinny jeans was just the right outfit to keep me cosy in the evening. I'm sure sitting near the pizza oven helped too. It did start getting quite cool after 8pm and I wondered if I should have gone for a cardigan but by then the kids were practically falling asleep, both having been at parties earlier in the day, so it was time to call it an early night at 9pm anyway.

This pink tank hasn't been worn in a while, and so was overdue a wear. I thought it was nice with the different shades of pink in the floral print of the kimono, and a nice backdrop for this clover necklace I thrifted last month.

Because we had our baby bag filled with toys and water bottles for the kids I kept it simple with the little peach Rebecca Minkoff small love bag - perfect for just the essentials like my mask, phone, wallet and keys. I really liked the orange and pink combination too!

What I wore:

magenta floral long sleeve cardigan with bright tank, denim shorts and Jumbo cobalt love bag | awayfromblue

Rebecca Minkoff quilted jumbo Love bag in cobalt with magenta long sleeve floral kimono | awayfromtheblue

JacketCotton On Leah kimono in Juddy floral cerise
Necklace: Kmart gold and navy beaded necklace
Tank: Jeanswest Maya gather back tank in mid turquoise
ShortsJeanswest Sara distressed hot short
ShoesNew Balance Coast women's running shoe in black
BagRebecca Minkoff quilted jumbo Love bag in cobalt

Why I wore it:

Similar to the outfit above - floral kimono, bright block colour tank, and black denim. But shorts this time as it was a really warm and sunny day. I picked this magenta long sleeve floral kimono to wear to keep my arms covered up from the sun, and because it's quite light and wouldn't overheat me. I appreciated the arm coverage in the cooler aircon too.

After a morning enjoying the beach and playground at Southbank we headed to the Lego Brickman exhibition at the museum. We'd been trying to get tickets for a while with a week or two notice but it was always sold out, so we took a chance and booked tickets a month out. So happy we finally got to go and Covid cases stayed at 0 so there were no lockdowns to change our plans! The kids loved it. There were some amazing Lego creations, and plenty of Lego around for the kids to try their own handiwork too.

I needed a bag that would fit my camera and the essentials in it - and this cobalt Love bag pairs so nicely with the blue in the floral print of the kimono. I liked how colourful this outfit was with the magenta, cobalt and turquoise together. Hubby had the backpack filled with everyone's water bottles and some snacks too, so I probably could have gone for a smaller bag for my things, but this just went with my outfit so well!

Last worn: magenta floral kimono, turquoise tank, beaded necklace, distressed denim shorts, New Balance sneakers, Rebecca Minkoff Jumbo Love bag.

Other ways to wearmagenta floral kimono and white tee, turquoise tank and maxi skirt, distressed denim shorts and stripes, Rebecca Minkoff Jumbo Love bag and jeans.

How You Can Wear It:

A bright block colour tank is easy to wear with prints. You can pair it with a kimono that has similar colours in the print, like in the first outfit, or contrast it entirely like the turquoise and magenta combo in the second outfit.
