Opshop Finds! What I Bought In November (And How I've worn It)

I did a little more shopping this month! Everything aligned for me to have some time to visit my favourite local opshop, and I couldn't resist picking up a few bargains. I went for a browse, hoping to pick up some necklaces, and found some great ones. I also got super lucky to get a dress I'd had my eye on that sold out last year!

Surprisingly, despite our annual girl's Christmas shopping trip falling on the black Friday weekend, I didn't buy anything for myself in all the sales, just finished my Christmas shopping for everyone else. The thrifted pieces are all I bought for myself in November.

What I Bought:

With the dress being just $1 and the necklaces being $2 each it was a bargain of a monthly haul, at just $7 in total!

Why I Bought It:

I got pretty lucky to pick up all these pieces at one opshop one morning! As I expanded on in the video, I'd gone looking for some necklaces and they had quite a few I liked, but I picked just the 3 as I felt they filled gaps in my wardrobe.

Had a browse of the clothes too while I was there and was so thrilled to find this fuchsia Kmart dress! Kmart also made a blazer and shorts in this material and colour last year that I still see pop up on Instagram now and then. This dress was everywhere in spring/summer last year, and has even been re-released this year in a different colour, so I'm so glad I got it for just $1! The size tag was cut out and I didn't have a chance to try it on as I had my little one with me and he was getting impatient as I browsed so it was so lucky this fit when I got home and tried it on. For $1 it was worth taking the risk on. The couple of times I've worn it has confirmed how perfect it is for hot days, really happy with this dress.

How I've Worn It:

I knew I was going to wear the dress with some of these necklaces - even the volunteer checking me out at the opshop commented how nice the colours were together! The linen blend dress is a bit of a pain to iron, as expected. It's lovely to wear though and I know I'm going to get a lot more use out of these pieces in future too.

Orange Outfits: Dresses With Statement Necklaces and Cream Chloe Mini Paddington Bag

Two orange outfits with dresses and my little Chloe mini Paddington bag I picked up back in October. One outfit dressed up for working in the office, the other for our annual Christmas family photos.

Shoesthrifted Adidas Superstar sneakers
Bracelets: the usual plus Cora purpleheart and mother of pearl watch c/o JORD
BagChloe small Paddington in 2006 blanc

Why I wore it:

I loved this combination! It's not the first time I've tried to make this casual skater dress a little more formal by adding a blazer, but I think this is my favourite resulting outfit! The orange really pops against the neutral grey. I let the blazer be the star of the outfit by sticking with a statement but still neutral necklace, and comfortable sneakers, because the office is still pretty casual with not everyone back full time there yet. It's still optional for us to attend the office on days that make sense, and this was a much needed office day with me having picked work from home days so often lately.

I really liked the little Chloe Paddington bag with this too, I'm finding this neutral cream goes with everything so I keep reaching for it over and over! The gold hardware and padlock complimented the gold in the necklace nicely too.

Last worn: orange blazer, wooden statement necklace, grey skater dress, Adidas Superstar sneakers, Chloe mini Paddington.

Other ways to wearorange blazer and printed dress, grey skater dress worn 2 ways, Adidas Superstar sneakers and jeans, Chloe mini Paddington and striped dress.

Why I wore it:

Again with the mini Chloe Paddington! To be honest I didn't really need a bag for this day - I had a big green Woolies reusable tote bag with me that had the picnic blanket and some props for our Christmas photoshoot, along with all our water bottles and some snacks. The Paddington bag ended up in there most of the morning! I'd just been running late and it was easier to grab this already packed bag I'd worn the day before than try think of what I needed to take out of it to put in the photoshoot tote.

We try get our Christmas photos early each year so I have time to pick my fave and get it printed into a Christmas card, but the weather felt Christmas-y enough. It was a very humid and summery 35 degrees (Celsius) despite being spring! I did try and curl my hair but as you can see that was a bit of a waste of time with the humidity!

I liked this orange tiered midi dress in the heat - nice and lose and flowy! Since orange isn't really a Christmas colour I went with the green necklace and the green and red bracelets. I'm pleased the combination worked, I feel I should try orange and green more often! How perfect is this orange resin bracelet too? It matches the dress so nicely. There were only a handful of photos where you could see my bracelets, but I was happy knowing they were there, ha! I did think of wearing my gold Christmas bauble earrings but thought I'd keep it simple and went with these gold heart earrings that worked better with the green necklace and complimented the gold sandals and gold hardware on the bag nicely.

Was really pleased by how our photos turned out, but of course as usual I won't share them as I don't share the kids faces online.

How You can Wear It:

Orange is a fun bold colour to wear and perfect for spring- in any shade! You can keep it simple and pair it with other neutrals like in the first outfit, or try a bold colour combination with green like I have in the second outfit!
