What I wore:
Shoes: New Balance white and blue sneakers
Bag: Rebecca Minkoff Micro Bedford zip satchel in twilight
Why I wore it:
This striped tee dress is a firm favourite of mine but doesn't get worn as much as the other ones I have as the thicker fabric and longer sleeves make it a little warm for much of the year here in Brisbane. It was perfect on this colder autumn morning though, as I left the kids with hubby working from home as I went out for groceries. I try go get groceries early in the day so that the crowds will be smaller. Doesn't guarantee that there will be more stock there, but does mean the store is quieter.I do like wearing this dress with my Converse so these sneakers are just another take on that, even if I think they are a bit uglier than my Converse! I'm sticking to the same accessories each time I leave the house so I don't need to contaminate things by bringing them back inside to change them over. It did create a very monochromatic outfit with the navy bag and navy striped dress together, and I did wish I'd have picked a different colour of bag as my go-to over for grocery shopping 😂 maybe a pink one, I like wearing pink bags with this dress!
Last worn: Atmos&Here striped tee dress, New Balance sneakers, Rebecca Minkoff Micro Bedford bag.
Other ways to wear: Atmos&Here striped tee dress and ankle boots, Rebecca Minkoff Micro Bedford bag and maxi skirt.
Perfect for pregnancy: Atmos&Here striped tee dress in second trimester.
What's In My Bag: Rebecca Minkoff Micro Bedford
What I wore:
Shoes: New Balance white and blue sneakers
Bag: Rebecca Minkoff Micro Bedford zip satchel in twilight
Why I wore it:
Like the striped tee dress above, this isn't frequently worn. It's a great shift style but hasn't gotten a lot of love as the length makes it a bit tricky to wear around the kids. Even though the striped one only has a slightly more dipped hem in the back, this feels a bit shorter. Perfect for a solo trip to the grocery store though, again with the same shoes and bag as above. I have to say my knee is loving only wearing these supportive shoes every time I go out in the car, driving is the thing that hurts my injured knee the most.Unfortunately, unlike the striped dress above, this dress is not as stretchy and forgiving and highlighted to me the high levels of chocolate consumption going on in home isolation here, ha! Always tempting to sneak a bit from my secret pantry stash when I'm getting the boys yet another snack... 😂
Last worn: printed shift dress, New Balance sneakers (above), Rebecca Minkoff micro Bedford bag (above).
Other ways to wear: printed shift dress and Chucks, Rebecca Minkoff micro Bedford bag and shorts.
Long Sleeved Dresses Under $50:
How You Can Wear It:
A long sleeved dress is a great option for a cooler day, and a print is a fun way to add a little more interest to your outfit.Linking up with On Mondays We Link Up, Monday Runway.
I love the navy dress with the stripes. I like how you paired it with a navy bag. The sneakers are lovely as well. Such a great monochromatic styling. The second styling with the printed shirt dress is also lovely. Thank you for sharing.
ReplyDeleteI love a good sneaker- dress combo! And I totally relate to the certain areas of my body growing a bit with this whole pandemic, ugh, some of my clothes just love to hug those areas! Have a great weekend Mica!
ReplyDeletexo,
Kellyann
haha yes, it was inevitable with all the chocolate consumed during those working from home / teaching the kids at home days, haha!
DeleteYou wore again perfect looks for your grocery shopping and both dresses deserve it to be worn more often! Good that you have even in Brisbane cooler days now!
ReplyDeleteHave a wonderful and happy weekend!

You look fantastic in both version of the outfits. This color is your perfect match.
ReplyDeleteHere in Poland kids are still out of the school.
Have a lovely weekend Mica xx
Hope you are doing okay - it's hard work helping the kids with online learning!
DeleteI also love wearing long sleeved (+ over the knee) dresses with sporty shoes and cross body bags. Blue looks so good on you, Mica! xx

I really love both these dresses - and pairing them with sneakers is perfect for running errands and getting groceries. My snacking habits in the midst of all of this are just totally over the top!

Just iso life I think! My kids were eating more too!
DeleteThese are both pretty dresses, Mica! I don't own any long sleeved dresses. I should invest in some! I hope you have a wonderful weekend, Mica! :) XXX
ReplyDeleteThey are a great option for spring and autumn I find! :)
DeleteI love a good long sleeved dress! Both of these are beautiful but I especially love that first one. You are stunning!
ReplyDeletethe creation of beauty is art.
I love a good navy! These monochromatic looks are great! Isn't it funny how dresses can be shorter but feel longer than a longer dress...I have a few like that too
ReplyDeletehttps://www.closet-fashionista.com/
Oh, tell me about the chocolate consumption - same here! I have to try to limit myself to only on the weekends!
ReplyDeleteI love that first dress - the deep blue really looks good on you. I'm not a huge fan of the second dress, as this is one of those prints that looks "muddy" on screen. Small, delicate patterns tend to do that, I've found. Nothing to do with how it looks on you - although I do feel you on the length and non-stretchiness!
Yes it doesn't photograph well at all, it's a lovely mix of colours (even pink!) in person!
DeleteBeautiful look.
ReplyDeleteI love both of those dresses! I hope the weather warms up a bit here soon so I can wear a few dresses too, I need a change from my usual jeans and leggings!
ReplyDeleteAll of the at home time has me snacking big time too! Or rewarding myself by getting through certain school subjects with my oldest with a treat! I love that navy dress especially! The colors in the print on your second dress is beautiful! I am glad you can see it more in the photo with your bag!
ReplyDeleteI think that getting through online learning definitely deserves a treat though, haha!
DeleteThese dresses are perfect for a day of errands like that Mica.
ReplyDeleteXOXO
Jodie
Oh yes, I eat much more! It didn t help that Gerben received a Chocolate thank you present from work! Have a great weekend!
ReplyDeleteOh what a delicious gift! :)
DeleteOooh! I love the long sleeve dress! I have a hard time rocking them. You look great with yours. I love that you pair it with color coding bags as well :). I feel you about going to the grocery store early. We have to especially with everyone crowding to them and having spacial limitations applying! Oooh, your printed shirt dress is cute as well!

Love both of these monochromatic looks! The bag is the perfect complement to these dresses.

Such cute dresses! Love the bag.
ReplyDeleteThe dark striped dress looks so chic. I understand the knee comfort with your sneakers, it's something I struggle with, too.
ReplyDeleteI really miss my comfortable shoes but hopefully I'll be able to get back to the physio soon! :)
Deletehave a lovely day!
ReplyDeleteThese blue themes look cozy and calm!
ReplyDeleteEnjoy weekend :)
Love the navy stripped dress, perfect for the cool days, the sneakers makes it look casual but the bag gives it a casual chick look!
ReplyDeleteGrocery shopping has become quite the outing lately, so I feel like I'm always dressing up a little bit 😄

It is good to have a reason to wear a pretty dress, haha!
DeleteI thought I was fine with my chocolate consumption until I visited a shop which had recently re-opened, and was given a 1 kilo bag of mini Easter eggs for free! I do love both of the dresses, and think navy is a great colour on you. I have a pair of trousers in a similar print as your second dress! I agree a pink bag would look fantastic with your first dress. I am actually only using two handbags at the moment, one to go to the office and one for shopping trips. Sad really, as my other handbags keep calling me every time I open the wardrobe doors! Have a lovely Sunday, Mica! xxx
ReplyDeleteOh how lucky! I wouldn't say no to a kilo of chocolate, haha! The grocery stores here donated all their leftover chocolate to the local hospitals :)
DeleteI love both of these dresses, they look so pretty on you!
ReplyDeleteI hope you're having a wonderful weekend, friend. I am trying to catch up on some blog work, as well as just relax after a busy week. :)

What a cute bag! reminds me of the Balenciaga City, but more simple!
ReplyDeleteHave a great weekend,
S
Your outfits still look very cute, even if you'd rather wear cuter footwear! I couldn't tell you the last time I wore a dress, ha!
ReplyDeleteDefinitely not a go-to for stay at home iso life, haha!
DeleteI adore wearing dresses but I struggle to know what shoes to wear with them sometimes as heels just aren't convenient sometimes. I think I probably need to follow your lead and throw on some trainers!
ReplyDeleteHope you and you're family are keeping well!
Musings & More
They are kinder on injured knees too which is why I wear mine, haha!
DeleteI think these monochromatic looks suit you my dear Mica and they are the best excuse to wear that Minkoff bag.
ReplyDeleteI love looks like this, so easy to wear and style but you still look put together. I laughed a little when you said it was your autumn outfit as this is the kind of thing I'm wearing right now as we edge towards summer x

DeleteOur grocery's store are the busiest during the morning and then clam down during the day. Glad you find an outfit formula that works for your grocery store tripe. Have a great weekend.
ReplyDeleteSolid match and matching clothes and accessories, friend. Good choice.

Oh, beautiful look! Love your bag!
ReplyDeleteI like the monochrome looks! I do like pops of color and pink bag would definitely look great but there is a thing in monochrome too.
ReplyDeleteI so feel you about the forgiving hems, my personal number of flattering clothes is getting smaller and smaller.
It always feels great to be able to give some love to lesser worn items in our wardrobe and both dresses look breezy and chic. Grocery shopping is all about efficiency these days and wearing an outfit you're comfortable with certainly helps. I've been sicking to one outfit when I do go out on grocery runs and I make sure to leave those clothes out on a rack so they don't touch anything else in my closet. I just feel like you can't be too safe right now y'know.
ReplyDeletethat's a good approach! I figured washing after I wear them, even if I've only worn them for an hour would be the way to go as I wasn't sure I could sufficiently space them out in my wardrobe, haha! Isn't it funny the things we have to think of now!
DeleteAlways wearing some beautiful dress, Mica. I love wearing dresses like this with converse just like you've styled yours. You look wonderful!
ReplyDeleteHappy Sunday :-)

I like both dresses and they are just perfect to wear for fall. I hope you have a nice week Mica.
ReplyDeleteI love that handbag! I appreciate anything with zips and compartments. Would go with a lot of outfits too! x
ReplyDeleteDi from Max The Unicorn
Both dresses are very cute and I love your bag. I typically only carry a cross body bag, especially when shopping. It just makes it so much easier to have my hands free and I feel it is more secure and sanitary than having it sitting in a shopping cart. Sneakers are my bum knee's best friend and when I know I am going to be doing a lot of walking or work around the house, I also where a stretchy knee brace that just slips on. Hope your knee gets to feeling better soon. Mine has been a problem for close to a year, so when things are a little more open, I'll probably get to the doctor and have it checked out. Hope you are doing well. Stay safe. - Amy

Hope you can get to the doctor soon! I did have a knee support I'd wear but I haven't been able to wear it lately as it's caused more pain :( Didn't get a chance to work on it much at the physio before everything closed down!
DeleteYou are so clever to put these dresses with the tennis shoes. I wouldn't think to do that but really like the way it looks. And those comfy shoes make so much more sense for running errands and grocery shopping. Really like the striped dress on you and the first one you featured with your links. I have a 6 year old striped dress that needs more wear. Thanks for the inspo.
ReplyDeleteIt's so much easier on my injured knee wearing these supportive shoes too!
DeleteBoth dresses are so pretty! I also have a secret pantry for chocolate, hahaha:)
ReplyDeleteakiko
It's essential for mum life I think! ha!
DeleteLong sleeve dresses (and tops) are my favorite! Even in warm weather. Though I am sure you are happy to have some cooler weather approaching, I will still send you some warm, Florida vibes :)
