With the warmer spring like weather in Brisbane I was glad I could shed some of the layers and just wear these cardigans...even if I had to add tights on my second day in the office!
What I wore:
Necklace: thrifted blue multi stand long beaded necklace
Top: Jeanswest Frankie soft blouse in berry
Skirt: Warehouse navy jacquard pencil skirt
Shoes: Marc by Marc Jacobs metallic mouse flats
Bag: Louis Vuitton Damier Ebene 30 speedy bandouliere
Why I wore it:
Excited by the warmer weather, I went bare legged to the office. It was a little chilly in the morning still, although it did warm up nicely during the day. The cardigan kept me cosy too, this navy one is a frequently worn one over the colder months, and I'm surprised this is the first time I've worn this berry blouse with navy! I like to wear a lot of things with blue, as it's my favourite colour. The blouse and jacquard pencil skirt were such a comfortable outfit choice, and the beaded necklace tied together the navy cardigan and skirt well. Even if I did manage to snag this necklace and had to hurriedly try repair it before the beads flew everywhere, ha! I did loose a few beads but as I lost some length knotting it back together I don't think you can really tell!
Was such a nice outfit for a busy morning at work with a big team celebration at lunch time.
Last worn: navy cardigan, berry blouse, jacquard pencil skirt, gold mouse flats, Louis Vuitton speedy bandouliere. First time I've worn the necklace on the blog as it's a recent purchase.
Other ways to wear: navy cardigan worn belted, berry blouse and maxi skirt, jacquard pencil skirt and tee, gold mouse flats and a-line skirt, Louis Vuitton speedy bandouliere at Disney.
Perfect for pregnancy: jacquard pencil skirt in first trimester, gold mouse flats in third trimester, speedy bandouliere in third trimester.
What's In My Bag: Louis Vuitton Speedy Bandouliere
What I wore:
Earrings: Kmart navy tassel earrings
Jacket: Jeanswest waterfall drape cardigan in scarlett marleBlouse: Jeanswest chana long sleeve stud top in night sky navy
Skirt: Asos blue textured lace pencil skirt
Shoes: Marc by Marc Jacobs silver tuxedo flats
Bag: Louis Vuitton Damier Ebene 30 speedy bandouliere
Why I wore it:
I didn't like this outfit as much as the one above - and I'm not sure why as they are so incredibly similar! Possibly because this skirt is longer? Or because I kept the blouse untucked? I did like the colour combo though, the red waterfall cardigan really pops with the blue peasant blouse and lace pencil skirt. The fleece lined tights in this outfit kept me cosier in the early morning start too, and I was glad I'd worn them as it was a much colder day! Luckily I managed to avoid the rain all day.
I really want to wear this red cardigan a little bit more before the warm spring weather truly sets in in Brisbane - probably won't wear it with this skirt again though, ha!
Last worn: red waterfall cardigan, tassel earrings, navy peasant blouse, blue lace pencil skirt, silver ballet flats, Louis Vuitton speedy bandouliere (above).
Other ways to wear: red waterfall cardigan with monochrome outfit, navy peasant blouse worn two ways, blue lace pencil skirt worn 30 ways, silver ballet flats and skinny jeans, Louis Vuitton speedy bandouliere and shorts.
Perfect for pregnancy: blue lace pencil skirt in second trimester, silver ballet flats in third trimester, Louis Vuitton speedy bandouliere in second trimester.
Waterfall Cardigans Under $50:
How You Can Wear It:
A cosy waterfall cardigan is a great outwear option for spring or autumn, and is easy to pop in your bag if it warms up during the day. You can go matchy-matchy like the first outfit and match the colour of the cardigan to other pieces in your outfit, or just add it as a bold pop of colour like I have in the second outfit.Weekday Wear Linkup #36

Both of these skirts are so pretty, Mica! I love them paired with your jewel toned blouses and cardigans. I really like the colour combo of both outfits. That bag is such a classic and looks fab with everything! I like the tassel on it too, to add extra colour! Hope you had a great weekend and a wonderful week ahead, Mica! :) XXX

I like both outfits but the feelings you have for the second look are so familiar to you. It happens again and again to me when I copy a outfit I love :) How good you were able to repair the necklace of the first look!

Yes I'm pleased I was able to fix it! I was so upset when it broke!
DeleteEven though I love the first outfit more than the second one too, the red cardigan is absolutely breathtaking. I adore the color and the cut!
ReplyDeleteIt's such a great feeling when you can go bare legged as the weather warms up! This is such a pretty color combo! Also loving your bag!
ReplyDeleteJill - Doused in Pink
Love the textured skirts and that first look is super polished for the office. I am also loving the red cardigan, so I can see why you want to incorporate it into your wardrobe this spring. Perhaps over a fitted dress?
ReplyDeletebosbodaciousblog.blogspot.ca
Yes I do like wearing it with dresses!
DeleteI need some new pencil skirts because I tried mine on and they are all too big after I lost weight!
ReplyDeleteGotta say, I love the little fur baby model with you :)
ReplyDeleteLove the color of your berry top in the first outfit. It's so flattering! Hope your week gets off to a good start Mica!
ReplyDeleteI love both these outfits, Mica! Even with the longer skirt on the second set, I think the whole outfit still works:) And yay for warmer weather for you guys:) I wish it's still warmer here but fall is certainly making its presence known.
ReplyDeleteHave a lovely day/night:)

Gorgeous looks as always! You can't go wrong with a good pencil skirt!

It's gotten so warm in Perth too! It only just changed over to spring right? Haha! I think I see what you mean about the second outfit... the colours are fab but maybe the flow of the outfit? The cardi might've been a little long for the combo? Or the shirt tucked in could've helped? The pops of colour on the monochrome outfits are always fab though!

Yes it's been so hot in Brisbane, more like summer! I think the length wasn't right for it, like you said :)

DeleteTwo wonderful skirts, Mica, and I love how you combined them. Your second outfit appeals to me the most. The scarlet of your jacket/cardigan looks absolutely fabulous against the dark blues. Hope you're having a lovely week xxx

I like both outfits - I think it's the untucked blouse in the second outfit that is throwing the proportions off, Mica. The extra long cardi with the longer pencil skirt needs a shorter visual top. However, I think you look great in both of them, and LOVE all your colour!
ReplyDeletethanks, you're right, it would look better tucked in! :) I'm glad you like all the colour, i'm trying to be more colourful! You inspire me!

ReplyDeleteThanks for dropping by my blog Mica! Its been years and its so good to see you after so long. I've not been too active on the blog and post more frequently on instagram. But what's awesome is that we've been blogging together for so many years and back when I last visited your blog, I don't think you had any kids so it's a pleasant surprise for me to see two adorable boys.
