Balenciaga Pink Sorbet City Bag, Jersey Blazer and Jeans

I enjoyed carrying my magenta Balenciaga day bag recently, so thought I'd pull out another pink bag, my sorbet Balenciaga city. With spring-like warmer weather, I decided to wear a blazer rather than the cardigans I've been favouring over winter.

I tracked this cream Zara blazer down on ebay. It's soft jersey material and I have it in black too. I really like this cream colour as it's a great neutral and goes with everything. The soft fabric makes me happy wearing it outside of the office.

What I wore:

SunniesRay-Ban new Wayfarers
Jacket: Zara cream jersey blazer
Scarf: navy bird print scarf
TankMEV Britney bubble tank in mood indigo C/O Zibibo
JeansJeanswest Super Skinny Jeans in Mid Indigo
ShoesMarc by Marc Jacobs metallic mouse flats (on sale in black or silver!)
BagBalenciaga RH classic city in 2010 sorbet

Why I wore it:

Wore this for a lunchtime catch up with a friend from out of state. She was in Brisbane for a couple days for work and managed to squeeze a little bit of spare time to meet up. It was so lovely to see her. The weather was not quite so lovely! It looked like an okay day and as it was supposed to rain a little I brought umbrellas just in case. After we made the decision to head off it started pouring! Luckily the stroller has a waterproof cover, but I realised on the way home that I had left the spare battery pack for my phone in the now waterlogged baby bag!

This pink Balenciaga looks pretty bad when it gets wet but (as I reassured my friend) it dries fine and it handles the rain well. The sun does more damage to it through fading the colour than any rain, especially since I've waterproofed this bag like all my handbags. It wouldn't be my first choice to wear for a stormy day, but at least I don't have to worry about it developing watermarks if I do get caught in the rain with it.

Why I wore it:

I enjoyed wearing the jersey blazer so got it out again when I was trying to think what jacket would go nicely with the pink and grey outfit I'd put together. I did try a denim jacket with this, but it seemed to hit at an odd point on this top, I much preferred this blazer. Ran some errands, took toddler T for a haircut so he'd look nice for his brother's upcoming dedication ceremony and had dinner with the inlaws.

It's the second time I've worn this new top, so my purchase review:

I like it! It really is perfect for breastfeeding, and the fabric is softer (and a little cosier) than the navy one I have in the same style. The wrap top is kept together with a snap closure so I just need to unsnap it to breastfeed, really handy even though it's not actually a breastfeeding top. I'm pleased I bought this and see it easily getting more wear.

2 Ways To Wear: Printed Shirt Dress in Winter with Rebecca Minkoff Love Bag

First, don't forget to enter my JORD watch giveaway!

I snapped up this Atmos&Here Nigella collarless shirt dress in August, after it went on sale again. I first saw it go on sale in July during my #noBuyJuly16 challenge so I was pleased I had the chance to buy it again when the challenge was over. It was easy to meet my goal to wear it twice in the month after buying it as I'd had my eye on it a while.

What I wore:

Jacket: Cotton On black knit wrap cardigan
DressAtmos&Here Nigella collarless shirt dress (new purchase)
ShoesRMK Chester black ankle boots (on sale!)
BagRebecca Minkoff Love cross body bag in grey (on sale in pink)

Why I wore it:

I was, as usual, in a rush to get the boys and myself ready and out the door for playgroup. This dress was the perfect easy option - just add some cosy black layers with a knit cardigan and fleece-lined tights and I was ready to go. The grey bag is the perfect neutral as it goes with everything.

It was so easy to feed baby boy in this dress too! Shirt dresses are great for breastfeeding.

Last worn: Ray-Ban Wayfarer, black cardigan, ankle boots, Rebecca Minkoff Love bag. First time I've worn the shirt dress as it's a new purchase.

Other ways to wearblack cardigan and printed jeans, ankle boots and a maxi skirt, Rebecca Minkoff Love bag and a blue kimono.

Why I wore it:

I was a lot more leisurely getting ready the second time I wore this dress, a few days later. I tried on a couple of scarves and decided this one with the stars looked okay with the print of the dress. Of course, my leisurely start to the morning meant we were running a little late with getting everything done. I popped round to visit a few friends and drop off some invites for baby boy's upcoming dedication ceremony. I was constantly reminded of how late I was every time I glanced at my new watch, ha!

As I was rushing between people and places I ended up taking the scarf and jacket off as it turned into a really warm day. With it being spring now, I'll probably get to wear this dress bare-legged next time.

As it's the second time I've worn this dress, and I'm reviewing everything I buy after wearing it twice, my purchase review:

I really like this dress. I had my eye on it a while so was determined to buy it. I really like the soft fabric and while its light enough for spring and summer it kept me cosy at the end of winter. The only thing I don't like on this dress is that I noticed the bottom button popping undone a few times. Luckily it seems to the the only button that does that, but was a little annoying having to check it all the time. Especially at playgroup when I kept getting up and down with the boys. I think stitching the button hole closed a little more would help.

Overall, I'm pleased I bought the dress - I see it getting lots more wear, even with the annoying button.

Stripes, Jeans, Cardigans and Rebecca Minkoff Love Bag

If you've got a good thing, why change it? Stripes, cardigans and jeans make winter dressing easy. Stripes add a little more interest than a block colour, but I still find them easy to wear with all of my printed scarves. And of course a classic grey handbag like the Rebecca Minkoff love bag goes with everything too.

What I wore:

Magenta skull scarf stripes skinny jeans Winter SAHM style Rebecca Minkoff Love bag | Away From Blue

Jacket: Cotton On black knit wrap cardigan

JeansJeanswest Bindi skinny 7/8 jeans in indigo luxe
ShoesMarc by Marc Jacobs silver tuxedo flats (on sale!)
BagRebecca Minkoff Love cross body bag in grey (on sale in pink)

Why I wore it:

Realised I hadn't worn this striped tank for a while, so got it out for another wear. Plus it gave me an excise to wear the magenta scarf I recently rediscovered in my wardrobe. Simple and comfortable outfit for running a few errands and getting some lunch. I really like the pop of colour this scarf gives to a black outfit.

Why I wore it:

I liked the outfit combo above so wore a very similar thing again, just a little more colourful. Although the scarf has red in the print and the tee is more of a burgundy I think they looked nice together.

Had to take baby boy for a quick checkup. It was actually quite a warm day, I ended up taking the cardigan off by the time we got to the doctors as the tee has long sleeves. With it being spring now and it starting to warm up I think the opportunities to wear this wool cardi will come less often. I wore it 17 times over 4 months which is pretty good considering it's a very cosy wool and we had such a hot autumn and mild winter. It will definitely get more wear next year too.
