What I wore:
Tee: Atmos&Here grey v-neck tee with rolled sleeves (similar in black or white)
Jeans: Jeanswest Bindi skinny 7/8 jeans in indigo luxe
Shoes: Marc by Marc Jacobs silver tuxedo flats (on sale!)
Bag: Rebecca Minkoff Love cross body bag in grey (on sale!)
Why I wore it:
Felt all dressed up in this because I wore makeup for a change. I had the chance to catch up with fashion & beauty blogger Beth from Almost Posh while she was on holiday in Brisbane. I figured I should wear makeup to meet up with a makeup guru!Nice simple outfit for coffee and cake, and we even had a little time to browse some of the stores. I picked up a cute tank in the Target sale before heading home.
Last worn: navy printed kimono, grey oversized tee, Jeanswest prima skinny jeans, silver ballet flats, Rebecca Minkoff Love bag.
Other ways to wear: navy printed kimono and a newborn, grey tee and denim shorts, Jeanswest prima skinny jeans and blush blazer, silver ballet flats and a wrap dress, Rebecca Minkoff Love bag and a maxi dress.
More blue printed kimonos under $50:
What I wore:
Sunnies: Ray-Ban new Wayfarers (30% off at Nordstrom!)
Jacket: Cotton On 'Gemma' cocoon kimono in Laos blossom navy print
Tee: Jeanswest 'Lucy' colour block tee in grey marle/rosebud
Jeans: Jeanswest Super Skinny Jeans in Mid Indigo
Shoes: Walnut Melbourne 'Ava' black lizard ballet flats (also available in grey)
Bag: Rebecca Minkoff neon pink mini MAC (new purchase, on sale!)
Why I wore it:
Wore this to go out shopping for a new washing machine, not very exciting. The old one had been playing up for a while and despite paying a few hundred dollars to have it "repaired" and some parts replaced, it finally gave up this month. A new one was urgently needed. With two boys under 2, there is a LOT of washing required! Since I liked the grey tee, denim and kimono combo above, I wore it again. Unlike the washing machine repair, I have definitely got my money's worth from this $3 kimono.Wearing a new purchase too - this hot pink Rebecca Minkoff mini MAC. I'd been selling a few bags on ebay and of course when selling you have to browse the listings first and see what prices things are going for... Couldn't resist this bargain of a bag when I came across it. Really like the way the pink works with the floral print of the kimono.
Last worn: RayBan Wayfarers, floral cocoon kimono, grey tee, skinny jeans, black ballet flats. First time I've worn the pink mini MAC as it's a recent purchase.
Other ways to wear: floral kimono at 39 weeks pregnant, grey tee and printed shorts, skinny jeans and a striped henley, black ballet flats and a wrap dress.

Loved seeing how you style that first bag...I have it too, and can never seem to figure out how to wear it.
ReplyDeleteGlad I could give you some ideas! It's a lovely bag, hope you can wear it more often :)
DeleteI was thinking your pink bag was new. What a fun color! Loving both of these pairings and both bags so much.

hehe yes I'm always buying new Rebecca Minkoff bags ;)
DeleteI love your kimono collection Mica. Blue & grey are always so pretty together. Very soft. Love both of your outfits. I had to buy new washer machines last year! They're so fancy! HaHaHa I appreciate the upgrade. My water bill has been better because of the new machines also. >.<
ReplyDeletehttp://www.averysweetblog.com/
Yes it's good the newer ones are more energy and water efficient! Helps offset the high cost of buying them a little, ha!
DeleteGotta love kimonos! Hehe. Both of these are great transitional looks!

Loving your kimonos as always! And I need to go through your purse stash ASAP! :)

I do have quite a lot of handbags! ;) http://awayfromtheblue.blogspot.com/p/handbags.html
DeleteI love all of your cute kimonos and I'm thinking that I need to get a few so I can layer this summer without getting too hot. So frustrating about your washer... I'm praying mine holds on for a few more years!
ReplyDeleteHopefully yours is more reliable than ours, ha! :) And yes kimonos are perfect for summer layering! :)
DeleteOh, Mica, I'm swooning hard over that second look! Everything about the outfit is perfect, the bag matches perfectly with the florals in the kimono! I've tried to do some shopping on eBay and have had negative experiences with fakes, even though the reviews were descent for the seller. Do you have any tips on shopping and even selling on eBay, if you don't have a post on this already? I'd love to read some of your suggestions! I hope you're having a great day so far and thanks so much for sharing!

Oh so sorry you've had such bad experiences! I've been pretty lucky my ebay dealings haven't been so bad, but it's certainly not the first place I go to when I want to buy something!
DeleteI love your kimonos.

WOW three bucks for that kimono ?! that was a great buy.
ReplyDeleteOh and I hope you find a washing machine that last a longgg time. Mine is 7 years old and I take care of it as if it were a baby!
7 years is good! That's how long ours lasted before it died. I really wish it had lasted longer, but hopefully our new one will!
DeleteThat kimono looks great on you and the pink bag is so fun!

I love the second look, Mica! The pop of colour from your bag is beautiful and brightens up the whole look. You should really do a post on your Rebecca Minkoff bag collection, you seems to have a lot!

Thanks! I haven't done a post but I do have a video up on YouTube of my collection!
DeleteSo cool you got to meet up with a beauty guru! Haha yeah, I would've patted on more makeup if that happened too xD
ReplyDeleteLove your kimonos here and what they added to your outfits!

hehe yes I should have got her to help me with eyeliner!
DeleteBoth of those kimonos are so pretty! They really elevate your outfits to something special. I agree - $3.00 is a great score on that! You could wear these over a turtleneck for winter? Just a thought - if a pink bag could work with 'em, what about a pink turtleneck??
ReplyDeleteThanks so much Sheila! I'm not such a fan or turtlenecks, but I have tried kimonos layered over long sleeve tees when it's been a little cooler...might need to try that again this winter!
DeleteYou are the queen of kimonos, always and forever, gorgeous Mica. I love both especially the second one. And hey your outfit formula of pairing them with a tee/tank, jeans, flats and a great designer bag works, especially with two very young children under two. You are one polished mom. I love both of your bags, especially the first dusty lavender one. I bet Beth loved your outfit. Gotta check out her blog too. And the other day I bought my very first floral kimono (first one I cannot believe it). Through the last couple of years you have inspired me so much with all the ones you own!
ReplyDeleteSorry I have been a bad blogging friend but the last month especially I have worked a 'part-time' job with full-time hours, plus I tutor once (sometimes twice) a week and I am a mom to a toddler and a wife. I promise I will catch up more with you this weekend. But I did want to take my time to comment today, thank you for your awesome linkup and for linking with me on Thursdays too. You are one sweet friend! And yes I have to write this message to a few of my favorite bloggers because I have been slacking on commenting and stopping by lately. But you look great today, you usually do!
<3 Ada.
Aww thanks so much for your sweet comment Ada! No worries, blog stuff is never as important as real life and time is often hard to get with a toddler to look after too!
DeleteLocing the monochrome Mica! Looking fab!

Great kimono Mica. Love the first look! Sometimes I also feel a bit dressed up wearing makeup, since I don't wear it everyday, although I love a great lipstick! :-)
ReplyDeleteYes it's definitely a rare event for me, something that makes me feel more dressed up!
DeleteOh no, the thought of my washing machine dang on me is horrible! Even though I have to say, the biggest contributor to the washing still seems to be Mr. Loca.
ReplyDeleteLinda, Libra, Loca: Beauty, Baby and Backpacking
It was a nightmare for me too, as it happened on the day I'd set aside to go through 3 piles of laundry....eeek! I'm thankful the new one could be purchased and delivered so quickly.
DeleteLoving both these kimonos - I'm obsessed with how they change an outfit so drastically!

ReplyDeleteThe kimono jackets are so cute!
ReplyDeleteLoving you in kimonos! You look great in these. xo
ReplyDeleteI LOVE both of these! Three bucks?! That's a total steal. I can find them for crazy cheap on Amazon, so those are the ones I typically snag up. Plus, that Prime shipping doesn't hurt either. (;
ReplyDeleteHaha, I'm like "yay I've seen that outfit in real life!!" You looked great. I was excited to see what bag you were going to wear, haha.
