Black Printed Dresses With Pink Mini 5-Zip Rebecca Minkoff Bag

Using my little iris pink mini 5 zip crossbody bag for a pop of colour with these black printed dresses for some very warm summer days recently.

Why I wore it:

Forth wear of this $2 Kmart clearance dress - such a good find! This time around I pushed the sleeves up a bit (it has elasticated sleeves) for a slightly different look. Although it was a hot and humid day, this dress is light and was good physical sunblock. We had a quick errand to run in the morning and then a pool party in the afternoon. Being such a light dress, it was a perfect bikini cover up as it dried out in the heat so well.

Kept it casual with my Havaianas as most of the day was spent around the pool with bare feet anyway! I had a big reusable tote for towels and this little mini 5 zip bag was perfect for keeping the essentials separate and easy to find.

Why I wore it:

Wore this after the pool party - I'd managed to injure my knee in the pool so had my trusty knee brace out again, and comfortable practical Stan Smith sneakers. It was another hot day so I went with a simple printed dress again, this black and white striped one is good in the summer heat and perfect for the school run and working from home.

Again I went with the little pink bag. It really pops against a black printed dress, and it had everything I needed in it from the day before so was an easy choice. Did try dress this up a little bit with a bracelet stack, but I decided it was too hot to add a necklace or any more accessories.

Last worn: black and white shift dress, black and gold bracelet stack, Stan Smith sneakers, Rebecca Minkoff pink Iris mini 5-zip bag (above).

How You Can Wear It:

A pink crossbody bag is a fun pop of colour against black! If you have a little pink in your dress (like the first outfit) or it's just a neutral print with no similar colours like the second outfit, it works equally well!

  6. Both excellent outfits - love the pop of pink from the bag, Mica. I notice you often have pockets/zippers undone on your bags - is that a style thing, or do you leave them undone to get at stuff? I never leave zips undone on my bags, so just curious. Hope you are having a wonderful weekend!

    1. I almost always leave them undone! Crossbody bags are always close to me and it's faster getting car keys out if there's no zip to undo first - so less time trying to juggle bags and kids in a car park, haha! I think if I went to busier places or places with more strangers (it's mostly the local shops and playdates in the park and the school run) then I'd zip my bags more. I used to zip them for the commute to the office :)
