What I wore:
Dress: Kmart Tropicana sleeveless tiered maxi dress
Shoes: slim navy and pink Havaianas
Why I wore it:
I wore this back on Easter Sunday. I'd ordered some eggs for the boys, with guaranteed Easter delivery, but as it hadn't shown up I'd had to make the dash to the shops for something for them to hunt for the day before. I was feeling a bit upset about not having the things I ordered and the limited options at the stores the day before Easter, as well as the sadness of celebrating another isolation birthday on the same day and missing both my family and our church family. So I decided to dress up anyway to boost my mood. This pretty floral maxi dress is one I've had a few years but it hasn't actually been worn on Easter before, seemed like the perfect thing to wear.It was a strange Easter at home, but we still had an indoor egg hunt for the boys, they got dressed up in their Sunday best too, and we video called with family for Easter and to celebrate the isolation birthday. We even had birthday cake, and thanks to Church Online we had our church service at home too.
Last worn: Kmart floral maxi dress, gold heart necklace, Havaianas.
Other ways to wear: Kmart floral maxi dress under a tee.
Handbag Tag Video: Most Mused, Least Used And Cutest Bag In My Collection
What I wore:
Shoes: New Balance white and blue sneakers
Bag: Rebecca Minkoff Micro Bedford zip satchel in twilight
Why I wore it:
I actually wore this dress outside! Continuing with my "grocery shopping uniform", a simple dress, the only shoes and bag I wear outside now, my Rebecca Minkoff micro Bedford bag. All my other bags are stored away in my handbag cupboard waiting for a time when it will be a bit safer to change bags around and bring bags I've worn outside back into the house. The navy blue of the bag matches the background of the dress really closely, and if I hadn't been restricting myself to just taking one bag out whenever I leave the house I probably would have changed this for something with a little more contrast.
Didn't wear this all for very long though - went out, got groceries and then as soon as I got home put the accessories away and changed out of these clothes. Because despite social distancing rules in place people seem to think it's okay to reach over you and walk up next to you at the supermarket! At least there was a little more stock on the shelves this time.
Last worn: floral tiered sundress, New Balance sneakers, Rebecca Minkoff micro Bedford bag.
Other ways to wear: floral tiered sundress and knit, Rebecca Minkoff micro Bedford bag and shorts.
Tiered Floral Dresses Under $50:
How You Can Wear It:
A floral dress is so easy to dress up or down - perfect for celebrating at home or navigating the aisle of the grocery store. Floral prints aren't just for spring either, they work well all year round, as I wore these on warmer autumn days.Linking up with Mutton Style, Sunday Reflections, On Mondays We Link Up.
These dresses are so beautiful. That type of dresses is ma favorite for summer. Also your dog is so cute.

I'm glad you were still able to make an Easter celebration come together in these times - I also did an indoor egg hunt for Eleanor and got all our family together on Zoom for a nice chat.

It's good we can use technology to connect! :)
DeleteI love the dress you wore on Easter! I'm glad you were able to make it special even though the day itself was different than it normally is. Both outfits are so stylish and look gorgeous on you!
ReplyDeletethe creation of beauty is art.
That first dress is so pretty! Love the color :)
ReplyDeletehttps://villemo20.blogspot.com/
I love the brightness of that first dress! It's a shame Easter was a little all over the place but you were able to make it work! I should have gotten dressed up just for the heck of it but all I did was sit and watch TV all day, haha

It was the first time out of pyjamas/loungewear for a while, haha!
DeleteLovely dresses! :)

ReplyDeleteI loved the blue dress, it's too beautiful! :)

Both of those dresses are lovely and they look fantastic on you, Mica!
ReplyDeleteIn my state, Nevada, we start phase one reopening tomorrow - all stores must keep patrons at 50% of normal, employees must wear masks and patrons encouraged to so, and social distancing maintained at 6 feet (approximately 2 meters). My husband and I will continue to self-isolate. From what I’ve seen people have no idea how far 6 feet is.
Similar thing here - we have social distancing rules but people so rarely follow it :(
DeleteHi Mica
ReplyDeleteIt seems that now the only thing we do is stay at home and go to the grocery shops !!
With these dresses you will be super comfortable, when I go shopping I come home and put all the clothes to wash, so I go as simple as possible !!

Same here, clothes went in the wash after grocery shopping!
DeleteI love your pretty dresses Mica and perfect to wear for warm weather. Have a happy mother's day weekend.
ReplyDeleteBeautiful
ReplyDeleteThe colour of these dresses look so fab on you:) It's so sweet how you made such an effort for Easter as well. My mum ended up dropping stuff for the kids at our door and just rang the doorbell, so the kids were able to see her even from afar, and I didn't have to buy any candies....LOLZ!
ReplyDeleteHave a lovely weekend:)
PS My hubby does the groceries (as he's still working being in an essential industry so he said might as well just be him to do all these stuff), and he said the same thing...some people in groceries still don't social distance:(
That was sweet of your mum! :) It's so hard for the kids not seeing their grandparents and giving them hugs! We have switched to online groceries now and it's better, I feel safer!
DeleteHaving to go out and buy something for the boys for Easter Day must have been so frustrating, and I can only hope wearing that wonderful maxi dress made things slightly better. The second dress is lovely too! It's quite horrible that people aren't better behaved. I was in the garden centre this morning and this guy came right up to me asking if I knew where he could find something some particular seeds, as I was looking at the flower seed display. He was wearing a mask - I wasn't, as it's generally very safe there - and I told him off, saying he still had to keep his distance and wait his turn. He apologized but still, it made me quite mad. Oh, and I also find myself wearing the same shoes and bags over and over again when I'm outside! Have a great weekend, and stay safe! xxx
ReplyDeleteIt is hard here, I've had to catch myself a few times and follow the markers on the floor while I get used to social distancing but I never get close enough to anyone to touch them - people all up in my personal space, haha!
DeleteI love that pretty red dress! It looks so good on you, Mica! Have a great weekend!

Oooh! Your dress is so cute! It is a bummer that some of the things you've ordered did not come through. I love that you are making the best out of things. It is a struggle right now, but keep pulling through! The blue dress is my favorite! I love that you match your bags with your outfits :)

The kids enjoyed a second Easter egg hunt when the goodies did arrive, ha!
DeleteI'm loving the tropical/floral vibes! Both are gorgeous, Mica!
ReplyDeleteI hope you have a wonderful Mother's Day weekend, friend! :)
Make Life Marvelous
Your Kmart dress is really pretty :). Sorry you did not have the Easter you wanted, but it sounds like you made the most of it by having the boys dress up in their Sunday Best and having an indoor easter egg hunt :)

Yes we still had a fun day! :)
DeleteWOW...such gorgeous dresses, and you look amazing in them!😊😊
ReplyDeleteI especially like the red one.
Have a great weekend!

Easter was so weird this year - I'm glad you were able to enjoy it, and you looked great, Mica! Awesome dress! Both of them are so cute.
ReplyDeleteHang in there, my dear! Have a great weekend.
People haven't been social distancing at the store I work at either. Easter sure a very different this year. Mother's day will also be very different this year as well.

It must be so hard seeing that everyday at work - I'm lucky I'm only there a short time to get the groceries!

Oh, I think it was a great idea that you try to improve your mood with wearing this beautiful red maxi dress! I see you still manage all the challenges and I can imagine how you felt when the eggs weren't delivered. Like also the second dress!

Both floral dresses look beautiful! I really like the color of the second dress. And I'm glad you were still able to have a little Easter celebration x

Good precaution to just use one bag right now. I was in the market for a spring bag when things fell apart with Covid. I have been using the same one since but not because I was clever enough to think about it like you!! Just happened that way.
ReplyDeleteYour tiered dresses are very cute and could easily work for fall with the addition of a denim jacket or cardi. I am always surprised with the cute things you find at Kmart when our Kmarts have all closed.
It's funny, as your Target is bigger, but Target is doing so badly here they are turning the stores into Kmarts, haha!
DeleteYou look pretty with these printed dresses, Mica!
ReplyDeleteHappy Mother's Day!
Very cute dresses! I can't decide which one I like more red or blue. and it's a great idea to use only bag now, I will keep in mind for the time I actually need a bag.
ReplyDeletePeople really don´t keep their distance here too - it is annoying.
ReplyDeleteSo frustrating when I'm just trying to stay safe!
DeleteBoth such pretty patterned dresses! I love the red one xx

I miss KMart - they closed all of the ones near me. They always had the best things, and great prices.
ReplyDeleteHave to celebrate the little things during times like these, and that includes dressing up some days to bring joy to ourselves, even if we will only be home. <3

I haven't been in a store since March, but I do hear that not everyone is social distancing. Like, come on people--why do you think we're doing this?! Cute dresses for your outings at least! I love that heart pendant!
ReplyDeleteYes, it's so frustrating! I'm glad with online groceries open again now I don't have to go to the stores!
DeleteI love that red tropicana printed maxi dress you wore with for Easter Sunday. Such a pretty look! You looked fabulous. I also like the second dress as well.
ReplyDeleteLove the both dresses, you look so gorgeous in these outfits!
ReplyDeletejointyicroissanty
It's awesome that you found away to boost your mood by dressing up, the dress was such a good option, it's so cute and it looks so good on you, I really like the colors. I like that you dressed up to go shopping, and I really like how the purse and dress look like they are almost the same color, you look beautiful in it. "despite social distancing rules in place people seem to think it's okay to reach over you and walk up next to you at the supermarket!" Ain't that the truth, I swear this pandemic has a lot of people where I live act like complete assholes, if I could get away without going to the store I would.
ReplyDeleteTiffany | love is zero
I'm glad they reopened online ordering so now I can go to the stores! :)
DeleteBoth outfits are so pretty.
ReplyDeletePeople don't keep their distance here too.

You look lovely in that dress, enjoy your weekend and be safe.
ReplyDeleteI find myself dressing up a little these days to go shopping too. Because if I don't, when will I again..? :) Here in CA we are in phase 2, so a few things are opening, but you cant really go into the stores...just curbside pickup. It's all so scary. Stay safe!!

Both of those dresses are so pretty! I love the colors and the floral prints. Easter at home was definitely strange, but at least the kids still had a good time!
ReplyDeleteI love that first maxi on you - such a beautiful color and a great way to make a day feel more special. I'm so sorry that everything you'd love to be doing outside and with family has been kept from you so far this year, but at some point we're going to get back to our regular normal and I'm sure there will be a lot of make-up partying going on. I can't believe how closely the bag in the second photo matches to the blue in the dress. I love the idea of dressing up a bit to go shopping. Really, we have to do something to break up the monotony of these days. And your videos are always so cute! I love metallic bags - they just go with everything. And that red suede leopard - oh how gorgeous! And the color of your "cutest bag" is definitely one I'd buy outfits around. I'll bet it's wonderful with that second dress!

It's being strange with this gradual reopening of things - I assumed there would be a massive party at the end but it's more of a slow thing slowly adding more people to gatherings, haha!
DeleteI love both outfits! I can see why the dress made you feel better. It's lovely!
ReplyDeleteI know what you mean about people standing way to close and reaching over you as well. Some people do it here too and it drives me a bit crazy.

Two great dresses. I like how the blue dress looks with the blue bag - very cool, it seems to be the exact same shade.
ReplyDeleteOh and that Mulberry bag is splendid and what a great story of how you got it.
Thanks for watching the video! It is such a special bag to me :)
