June Dress Week: Corporate Style - Polka Dots and Floral Print - Monthly Purchases

Sharing my June purchases and the final two outfits for the June Dress Week Style challenge, two work outfits. I enjoyed playing along with Kiki during this challenge, but I do think it was extremely challenging for me wearing so many dresses in winter. It definitely pushed me out of my comfort zone though, which is a nice benefit from a style challenge.

June Purchases:

With all of these purchases this month it's easy to see why I've decided to do a #noBuyJuly15 challenge! I definitely don't need to be adding any more to my wardrobe. I still have completely unworn items from my May purchases, as well as things I bought and have only worn once! I didn't hit my goals of wearing things twice in a month after buying them...because of this I returned all of the tops from my Jeanswest order. I think I need a bit of space to wear and use what I own instead of buying more in July and compounding the problem.

What I wore:

corporate style: navy shirt dress worn as top with grey jersey pencil skirt winter

Rebecca Minkoff medium MAB tote in moon navy
ScarfAlexander McQueen magenta skull scarf in roses print
DressAtmos&Here Polly navy polka dot shirt dress
SkirtAtmos&Here grey marle jersey pencil skirt (same in navy or in black)
ShoesWittner 'Bloomy' black heels
BagRebecca Minkoff medium MAB tote in moon navy (on sale!)

Why I wore it:

The style challenge for the day was 'shirt dresses or wrap dresses' so I wanted to wear my newest shirt dress purchase. Wearing a dress as a top isn't a new thing for me (I've done it here and here before) but I actually really hated it this time! I don't know if it was the lack of a belt or just the mix of the materials with the dress, tights and skirt. It didn't stay in place and I kept tugging at it all day. The jersey pencil skirt wasn't very forgiving when the dress bunched up underneath it either.

I like the idea behind this outfit and all the pieces, but not how it all worked together. If I was to try this again I'd wear a different skirt, add a belt and pull the dress down. I think part of the problem was that I tried to let the dress drape a little over the top of the skirt to disguise that I didn't add a belt. See how Kiki had a better outfit for the challenge here.

Last wornmetallic jacket, roses skull scarf, polka dot shirt dress, grey marle pencil skirt, ankle strap heels, Rebecca Minkoff navy MAB tote.

Other ways to wear: metallic blazer with a sequin tank, skull scarf with spring dresses, polka dot shirt dress with Converse, grey marle pencil skirt with Converse in spring, ankle strap heels and bare legs, Rebecca Minkoff MAB tote with printed pieces for work.

What I wore:

Purple and black layered winter office outfit foggy Brisbane day

Rebecca Minkoff medium MAB tote bag in moon navy for office
Jacket: Temt black trench coat
ScarfMarc by Marc Jacobs print scarf in croc-print
Cardigan: Jeanswest Peggie long sleeve line kimono in purple mulberry marle (new purchase)
DressJeanswest floral wrap dress
TankJeanswest Jenni basic singlet in Royal Lilac purple
ShoesAsos Aggie leather western ankle boots in black
BagRebecca Minkoff medium MAB tote in moon navy (on sale!)

Why I wore it:

This was what I wore for the 'Floral Friday' challenge. I did think of wearing this wrap dress for the previous day's challenge, but as it was one of the few floral print dresses I own I wanted to save it for this day instead. I've worn it a few times in the blog, during pregnancy and post-baby too. I've never worn it layered up quite so much, even pre blog I kept it as mainly a warm-weather dress. Was good to try something different and wear it in winter. See how Kiki wore the floral Friday theme on her blog.

I really liked this outfit to wear, but I think the photo shows how rushed I was that morning - everything was kind of thrown on and I didn't even have time to try straighten anything out before I took the photo. Taking daily outfit photos will never be more than something I quickly do before I go out each day, I'm not trying to and never will be perfectly posed and styled. I figured a rushed photo was better than nothing, as I was doing the style challenge I felt I had to get a picture. Still pretty pleased I managed get ready and take photos and get to work on time though, I was really running late that morning.

Leaving My Wardrobe: Asos Aggie Black Ankle Boots

This is the last wearing of these ankle boots too. The heel just limits the amount of time I can wear them, and I've already bought a pair of flat ones to replace these as shown in the video. They were comfortable and did well in my wardrobe, I just need things that are a little more suited to life with baby. From the first wear to now, I've worn them 36 times. Not bad for a sale buy 3 years ago!

June Dress Week Style Challenge - Summer Dresses in Winter With Leather Jackets, Skull Scarves and Boots

Sharing more of my June Dress Week Style challenge outfits, this time for #JuneDressWeek2. I'm doing this challenge with my blog buddy Kiki from According to Kiki. You can follow along with us on instagram @kikimincks and @awayfromblue, or through our blogs. I'm posting a little more closely to the actual days with this one, as I went ahead and did the second challenge right after the first so I was a week ahead!

First, the Shopbop sale has just gotten even better! Get an extra 25% off sale items with the code '25MORE' for the next 3 days only! I keep the Sales and Discounts page updated regularly, but this sale is so good I had to include it in a post too. Perfect time to buy all those items you had added to your cart waiting for a justification to buy. Or is that just me? ;)

What I wore:

away from blue tunic dress layered for winter cobalt leather jacket boots skull scarf

print mixing with Louis Vuitton Damier Ebene 30 speedy bandouliere
JacketWittner 'Santa Fe' cobalt blue leather jacket
ScarfAlexander McQueen modal and cashmere skull scarf
Dress: Zara printed bib front tunic dress
ShoesAsos Cleo leather boots in tan
BagLouis Vuitton Damier Ebene 30 speedy bandouliere

Why I wore it:

The challenge was 'oldie but fave', and this was Kiki's take on it. This dress is only 3 years old (I bought it on a trip to Sydney), so it's certainly not the oldest dress I own. It's definitely one of my favourites though! I was actually surprised to see that I hadn't worn this dress with these tall boots before, in all the (15) times I've worn it. It's one of those pieces that is perfect in summer or layered up in winter, a great all-rounder and I'm so pleased I bought it all those years ago.

This is probably one of my shortest lived outfits that has ever been on the blog though, despite how much I liked it. As usual, after a busy morning everyone was fed, clothed and ready to go out the door. I stopped to take photos and then after putting the tripod away I turned to baby T to go put him in his car seat....and he vomited! My first instinct was to scoop him up and cuddle him, which didn't work out nicely for my outfit as he wasn't quite finished!
I had been debating wearing this jacket that morning, as it is one of my most expensive items of clothing (more expensive than some of my hand bags!). Lydia left a comment last time I wore the jacket suggesting it would look nice with this dress, so I was eager to try the combination. I foolishly decided that as it was only a short morning out, going to the library and then playgroup, my jacket would be okay. I had wanted to give it its first wearing in a while, after not wearing it a lot last year when baby T was still a newborn as I was worried about him spitting up on it!

Had to text my friends to tell them we wouldn't be seeing them, and I spent the rest of the day at home with a sick baby after getting us changed out of our messed up clothes. My outfits for looking after a sick baby are never blog-worthy, and they never tend to stay clean for long!

I might wear this exact outfit again another day as I didn't get a chance to wear it for long and I really liked it. I wonder if this disappointment is what people who have 'professional' fashion blogs feel, getting all dressed up in something you like and it only lasts for a few camera clicks? I prefer actually wearing my clothes, and enjoying them!

Last worn: cobalt blue leather jacket, Alexander McQueen skull scarfzara printed tunic dress, tan boots, Louis Vuitton speedy bandouliere.

Other ways to wear: leather jacket, skull scarf with stripes and metallic denimprinted tunic dress in summer hiding a first trimester baby belly, tall boots with skinny jeans, LV speedy bandouliere bag for the office.

What I wore:

cambray shift dress in winter layered leather jacket pink Alexander McQueen skull scarf ankle boots

Louis Vuitton Damier Ebene 30 speedy bandouliere
ScarfAlexander McQueen pink pashmina in skull and floral print
DressEzra chambray shift dress
ShoesAsos Aggie leather western ankle boots in black
BagLouis Vuitton Damier Ebene 30 speedy bandouliere

Why I wore it:

This chambray challenge was the hardest one for Kiki and I! We spoke about it quite a few times, as we were unsure how to pull it off. I was a step ahead of Kiki as I already owned a chambray dress, but I have never been to sure about how to style it for cooler weather! A chambray dress is also the Style It Project challenge for June, so I got a few ideas about how to make my chambray dress work for winter from Kimba's blog.

My first thought was to try leggings and ankle boots with this, as that was the outfit idea I liked the most, but I don't have any full-length leggings. With the darker denim panel at the hem of the dress and the leggings cutting off above the ankle boots...it was not a flattering look. So I wore exactly the same thing, but with tights instead. I think it looks nice this way. It does make me wonder why I keep holding onto this dress though as I always find it hard to wear. I'm not letting go of it just yet, will wait until spring comes around again and see how I feel about it then before I decide. It is easier to wear in the warmer weather.

Last worn: printed leather jacket, pink skull scarfchambray shift dress, Asos black ankle boots, Louis Vuitton Speedy bandouliere (above).

Other ways to wear: leather jacket in spring, pink skull scarf with yellow teechambray dress with converse, ankle boots in spring.

Chinese New Year Outfits - Sass and Bide Denim with Red and Gold

Don't forget to enter my JORD wood watch giveaway!

As I'm behind on blogging outfits, here are two red and gold outfits I wore for Chinese New Year in February. I'm wearing denim in both, as we had some cooler rainy days as Cyclone Marcia hit the coast of Queensland. Wore one on New Year's day, and one for our delayed celebration on the weekend.

Here's what I wore on Chinese New Year:
Chinese New year aztec print tank sass and bide denim balenciaga velo cross body
TankAtmos&Here 'Florida' tank in Aztec print
JeansSass and Bide "Straight up" jeans
Shoesblack slim Havaianas thongs
BagBalenciaga Coquelicot Velo

We didn't do anything special on the day of Chinese New Year as they were predicting the rains from Cyclone Marcia would be starting to hit Brisbane. I made sure I went out in the morning with baby T to stock up on plenty of essentials just in case our power or water got knocked out with the predicted flooding. I spent the afternoon at home with my mother in law when the rain started. Grateful that tradition says you can't do any sweeping on the first day of the new year - saved me a chore!

I didn't have anything new to wear to welcome in the new year, so I just went with red and gold instead. I haven't done much shopping for myself at all lately! I did have a new kimono, but decided to keep that for our celebration dinner on Saturday.

No outfit for Friday, as they had predicted the weather would be really bad that day. Hubby was told to work from home, and baby T and I stayed at home and had lots of snuggle time! A PJ day was welcomed, it was nice to rest for a bit. Good to enjoy the luxury of listening to the rain while staying cosy and dry inside too.

Last worn: Aztec print tank, Sass and Bide jeans, Havaianas, Balenciaga red velo.

Here's what I wore to celebrate Chinese New Year with my family:
Choies Vintage Pattern Red Kimono Gold skinny jeans black tank Chinese New Year

Jacket: Choies red vintage pattern kimono
TopZalora basics ruffle hem tank in black (massively reduced in cobalt blue)
JeansSass and Bide 'Three Words' metallic gold jeans
ShoesAsos Aggie leather western ankle boots in black
BagBalenciaga Coquelicot Velo

On Saturday, ex-cyclone Marcia was still hanging around and bringing a lot of rain, but it was lighter in the evening so we went ahead with our planned Chinese New Year banquet. While some of the roads around us were flooded, it wasn't too hard to get to the in-laws. As it was cooler, I took the chance to layer up a little and wear my new kimono as my 'something new' for the new year. I ordered this from Choies before I wore the shirt that fell apart.

As only the kimono was new I wasn't quite sure what else I should wear with it, then I remembered something my friend Leigh had suggested a while back....so the outfit I'm wearing was a result of consulting Cooper for style advice! I put the silly video up on youtube if you want a bit of a giggle :)

Sheds a little light on the process I use for getting dressed when I sit in front of my wardrobe and think 'I have nothing to wear!'.

Last worn: black tank, metallic gold skinny jeans, ASOS ankle boots, Balenciaga velo (above). First time I've worn the kimono.

Spring Dresses: Floral Print and Ankle Boots, Drop Waist Stripes and Converse | Shopbop Sale

The second wearing of two of my cute little dresses I purchased in September. Wearing one for the evening and the other during the day. My reviews of the purchases and how they are working in my wardrobe, as well as the Shopbop Friends and Family sale code!

Here's what I wore to go out for dinner:
Atmos&Here Willow Printed tee dress and Asos aggie black ankle boots
DressAtmos & Here Willow printed tee dress
ShoesAsos Aggie leather western ankle boots in black

Simple outfit - pretty dress and ankle boots! We had the chance to go out for dinner with some friends, it was so nice catching up and introducing baby T to some new-to-him faces. We've been a little unsure about going out in the evenings with baby but it was good to finally do it. Evening time is usually witching hours/arsenic hours and babies can be a bit unsettled. Baby T was a champ though, full of smiles and giggles and he perfectly timed his nap with dinner time. It helped that dinner was arranged around baby's schedule, and we were close to home if we needed to rush away.

The only downside to the evening was when there was an "explosion" over my dress. While baby T had a change of clothes, I didn't! A lesson for me to have something in the baby bag for me in case of emergencies. Also made me grateful I'd picked this dress to wear. The print on this dress hid the wet patches quite well from where I'd tried to wash it in the sink. It helped hiding behind the table too. Managed to make it through dinner without any more mishaps, but I have to say we did leave shortly after!

As it's the second time I've worn the dress, and I'm reviewing all my purchases the second time I wear them:
I love this dress! I've only worn it with ankle boots so far so I'm not massively restyling it each time I wear it...but it's such a nice easy piece to wear. I like the print and I'm really pleased I purchased this, it is perfect for Spring. It is definitely going to get a lot more wear.

Last worn: floral tee dress, Asos leather ankle boots.

Here's what I wore to go shopping:
Alexander McQueen skull scarf, Balenciaga Day Bag, Striped Dress and Converse
SunglassesRayban new Wayfarers
ScarfAlexander McQueen skull scarf in light blue
DressAtmos&Here 'California' drop waist tee dress
ShoesConverse Chuck Taylor All Star low in black
BagBalenciaga giant hardware Day bag in 2009 tempete
BagMarc by Marc Jacobs pretty nylon Eliz-A-Baby bag (get 25% off here with code 'FAMILY25'!)

Couldn't resist checking out the Missoni for Target collection! Took the chance to get out of the house with baby T to return something and to stop by our local Target. I didn't buy any clothes or accessories for myself, just picked up some things for baby and the house. Despite not having a set budget in mind but I think I did pretty well and I'm pleased with what I got, our local Target had loads. I did think I might pick up a scarf at least for myself, but it seems other people had that idea too. I saw one lady take the entire rack of scarves I'd spotted and add them to her overflowing trolley! It was then I decided I'd shopped enough and should back away and let the more dedicated people have their fun.

Carried a handbag for the first time in a while. I've now got a handy little hook for the stroller for me to clip bags onto, so I'm hoping to start carrying my handbags again even when I'm out with baby T. It's helpful on days when I'm out and about and want more than just a wallet and phone, and easy to do on days I have the stroller with me.

As it's the second time I've worn this dress, my purchase review:
I bought this dress to try out the drop waist trend, and it's been very fun to wear. I'm still not sure that this is really 'me', but I am going to keep it and continue to wear it. I don't see myself wearing and loving this dress as much as the printed t-shirt dress above though, so it's definitely one of those purchases I bought without really thinking what the need was in my wardrobe.

Last worn: Ray-Ban Wayfarers, skull scarf, stripe drop waist dress, Converse, Balenciaga day bag, Marc by Marc Jacobs diaper bag.

Don't forget that the Shopbop friends and family sale is on now! 25 % off with discount code 'FAMILY25'. Is it too early to start shopping for Christmas presents? ;)

Drop Waist Striped LBD and Ankle Boots | Ruffle Hem Tank, Skinny Jeans and Mouse Flats

More of my Fox In Flats style dare outfits from September, as well as the first time I've shared two of my latest purchases.

Here's what I wore to go out for lunch with DH and baby T:
SunglassesRayban new Wayfarers
ScarfAlexander McQueen magenta skull scarf in roses print
DressAtmos&Here 'California' drop waist tee dress (new purchase)
ShoesAsos Aggie leather western ankle boots in black

First time I've worn this cute striped dress from my September purchases. Thought it would be a nice thing to wear to go out to lunch with the boys (DH, Baby T and Cooper). It was a little cooler, so I added ankle boots to keep my feet warm. The style dare for the day was 'LBD', so this dress worked nicely.

This is my first drop waist piece. I know that the trend has been around for a while now, but I was never sure how it would look on me. Being petite, I didn't want it making me look shorter than I am! Decided to try this dress from The Iconic as I had a discount code for 50% off and they have free returns if it didn't work out. While it is a different style for me, I really like it. The fact that the dress is so stretchy and comfortable helped make my mind up on it too!

Last worn: Ray-Ban Wayfarer, skull scarf, Asos ankle boots. First time I've worn the dress.

Here's what I wore to have lunch with family:
Sunglasses: Cotton On 'Kirsten sunnie' in yellow
Necklace: beaded statement necklace from local markets
Top: Zalora basics ruffle hem tank in black (on sale, or massively reduced in cobalt blue)
JeansJeanswest Super Skinny Jeans in Mid Indigo
ShoesMarc by Marc Jacobs patent leather mouse flats

Although this is the first time I've worn this tank on the blog, it's not the first time I've worn it. Just didn't have the opportunity to take a photo the first time around. I was looking forward to wearing it again and getting the time to take a photo! The Fox in Flats Style Dare challenge for the day was bright, so I just picked a nice bright statement necklace instead of going for a bright outfit.

The tank has a slightly boxy fit with a little ruffle hem, so it's great for disguising the left over baby belly! Sadly it doesn't look as great with maxi skirts as I had hoped, maybe if it was just a little shorter (or I was a little taller!). Luckily, it is really nice with jeans. I wore it with jeans previously too, but really liked it this time with the bright statement necklace against the black. Was a nice casual comfortable outfit for a BBQ lunch with family, and my necklace survived baby T's grabby hands, which was wonderful. I'm slowly getting around to wearing my necklaces again, as baby starts to get more control of his hands and grabs things for a reason and less haphazardly. I was so scared of him getting tangled in my necklaces before. You worry about the weirdest things with a baby!

Last worn: yellow sunnies, skinny jeans, mouse flats. First time I've worn the tank on the blog.

ASOS Pastel Aztec Print Scarf with Cobalt Blue and Purple

Here's what I wore to take baby T for a check up:
asos aztec pastel scarf cobalt blue leather jacket grey skater dress ankle boots
Jacket: Wittner 'Santa Fe' cobalt blue leather jacket
Scarf: Asos pastel Aztec print scarf (on sale!, new purchase)
Dress: Asos grey skater dress (on sale!, new purchase)
ShoesAsos Aggie leather western ankle boots in black
BagMarc by Marc Jacobs pretty nylon Eliz-A-Baby bag

Took the opportunity to get out of PJs and take baby for a check up at our local child health clinic. We have been visiting a lot as it's nice to have a reason to get up and get out of the house with baby, rather than just walking Cooper! Baby T is thriving, our frequent visits are just taking advantage of all the support we have available. For those not in Australia, at the clinic you can book appointments to have regular and ad-hoc chats with the nurses, attend sessions about various baby and child related things (like advice on settling baby to sleep!), and just go to weigh baby and make sure everything is progressing well. It's a fantastic service! I'm very grateful to have access to so much help and support as a new mother.

First time I've worn this recently purchased scarf, it's so pretty. I paired it with the grey dress (also on its first wear) as I thought the pastel colours paired worked well. Couldn't resist adding just a little more colour with the cobalt blue of this leather jacket though. It's a good piece for the Style and Shenanigans texture challenge: leather.
It's almost Spring, and I've only worn this jacket twice this Winter. I paid full price for it, and it's the most expensive clothing item I own - even have some handbags that are cheaper! It has been worn so little this year as I'm a little worried about holding a newborn baby around it. I'm trying to wear the jacket on days I don't have to be out long and shouldn't need to feed baby T, to avoid any accidents. When I was a little girl, I left my mark on a family friend's leather jacket, and even after dry cleaning it was never the same....wouldn't want that to happen to this! Hopefully will get more wear next year.

Last worn: blue leather jacket, Asos ankle boots, Marc by Marc Jacobs baby bag. First time I've worn the scarf and dress as they are recent purchases.

Here's what I wore to go to the post office:
blanket scarf denim jacket maxi skirt pastels blue and purple new mum outfit
Jacket: Bubblegum denim jacket
ScarfAsos pastel Aztec print scarf
TeeSpectrum basic v-neck tee in washed lilac
SkirtJeanswest plain jersey black maxi skirt
ShoesConverse Chuck Taylor All Star low in black
BagMarc by Marc Jacobs pretty nylon Eliz-A-Baby bag
StrollerSteelcraft Strider Compact

Loved wearing this scarf so much I wore it again the very next day! Just a nice casual outfit to go to the post office and run some errands with baby T. Paired the pastels with blue again, and some purple with the tee. It was such a warm day, I ended up taking the denim jacket off as we walked home in the sunshine. The scarf kept me cosy enough.

As this is the second time I've worn the scarf (and I'm evaluating all my July purchases), the final verdict:
It's certainly much bigger than I expected, a nice blanket size scarf. I didn't check the measurements before I bought it. It's warm and I like the print and colours. I'm just concerned it might be a little too big on me, what do you think? Need to think of more creative ways to tie and wear it in future. Might not get worn as much as I thought it would as the weather warms, but it was a bargain at under $10 (on sale with an extra % off) so I should still get my money's worth from the purchase.

Last worn: pastel printed scarf (see above), denim jacket, purple tee, black maxi skirt, Converse, MbMJ baby bag (see above).

Dresses and Ankle Boots | Chambray and Paisley Print

Here's what I wore to go to the movies with DH:
blazer dress ankle boots purple paisley print mangue yellow balenciaga clutch
Jacket: Zara black blazer
DressJeanswest 'Melanie' paisley mixed print dress (on sale, plus extra 40% off!)
Belt: Kmart thin black glitter belt
ShoesAsos Aggie leather western ankle boots in black
BagBalenciaga envelope clutch in 2012 mangue with giant 12 RGGH

Got the chance to get dressed up a little! Wore this to go on an afternoon movie date with hubby while the in-laws baby sat. We didn't do dinner and a movie like our usual date nights, as we didn't want to be away from baby T too long, but it was fun to go out and see a movie.

Last time I wore this dress, as well as being near the end of the third trimester, I paired it with my yellow Rebecca Minkoff Swing bag. Really liked that colour combination, so repeated it again with the Balenciaga clutch. First time I've worn the dress without the baby bump too, still as cute and comfortable as when I was pregnant. Just couldn't wear a necklace this time as I'm still keeping accessories simple and grabby-baby friendly!

Last worn: Zara blazer, paisley print dress, glitter belt, ankle boots, Balenciaga envelope clutch.

Here's what I wore to pop to the shops with baby T:
feather print pashmina scarf ezra chambray shift dress acne pistol boots
ScarfNali feather print pashmina scarf
Dress: Ezra chambray shift dress (on sale here)
ShoesAcne pistol boots in "skin"

Second outfit with this chambray shift dress, one of my July purchases. The Acne pistol boots were the thing I could see myself wearing with this dress when I came across it in the Iconic sale. Somehow doesn't look as great in the photo as I thought it would be, or as it felt it looked as I wore it. Might have to try this combination again, maybe with a different scarf? I don't go bare-legged with boots often, has to be the right kind of weather, so hopefully I'll get a chance to re-try this outfit.

As I'm doing for all my new purchases, my verdict on the dress:
Not as easy to wear in winter as I thought it would be, but I'm confident I will still get lots of wear out of it as the weather heats up. Not the perfect purchase for right now, but still happy I have it for warmer days. One of those "I'll buy it now and wear it later" purchases I need to make sure I actually do wear later!

Last worn: feather print scarf, chambray dress, Acne pistol boots.

Stella McCartney Heart Print Scarf, Stripes and July Purchases

Despite filling up most of my day looking after baby T, I do get a few minutes to myself now and then, and the chance to read my emails and shop the sales they notify me of. I was actually surprised at how much online shopping I was able to do in July! (Haul video on youtube.) I've decided to get better at tracking my purchases on the blog, and have a goal of wearing everything I buy at least twice in a month since I bought it.

Hopefully doing this will help me accomplish a few things:
  • keep my spending in check
  • ensure I wear what I buy. When I don't wear it, reflect on why it didn't get worn so I don't repeat mistakes
  • give me some inspiration for what to wear each day as I've been feeling a little uninspired lately.

With the extra 20% off sale code at Matches Fashion, I bought this printed scarf. I ended up wearing it twice with stripes! I will need to wear it with something else next time.

Here's what I wore to go shopping with baby T:
stripe tee skinny jeans glitter flats blue and grey print mixing outfit heart scarf
SunglassesBali sunglasses C/O Kameleonz (20% discount with code 'MICA')
Scarf: Stella McCartney heart print scarf (on sale here, new purchase)
TeeAtmos&Here oversized stripe tee
JeansJeanswest Super Skinny Jeans in Mid Indigo
ShoesNine West fascinate ballet flats in silver glitter
BagMarc by Marc Jacobs pretty nylon Eliz-A-Baby bag

This tee was a favourite of mine near the end of my pregnancy. I bought it while I was pregnant, so this is its first wearing without the baby bump! Last time I wore it I was 40 weeks pregnant and wondering when baby was going to arrive, as he was overdue. Very similar outfit this time around, although with regular skinny jeans instead of maternity ones. Made a very blue outfit with the addition of the scarf, and kept me cosy as I went shopping with baby.

Last worn: Atmos&Here stripe tee, skinny jeans, glitter flats, Marc Jacobs baby bag. First time I've worn the scarf.

Here's what I wore to go to a baby shower:
Stella McCartney heart print scarf denim jacket stripe dress print mixing ankle boots
Jacket: Bubblegum denim jacket
ScarfStella McCartney heart print scarf (on sale here)
DressJeanswest 'Rita' stripe jersey dress
BeltAsos metal keeper skinny waist belt in bright blue (hidden by scarf)
ShoesAsos Aggie leather western ankle boots in black
BagBalenciaga giant hardware Day bag in 2009 tempete

Loved the heart print and stripes combination so much that I decided to wear it again. I'm realising I need to try and find ways to wear my office dresses while on maternity leave, or they will just take up space in my wardrobe. Have been wanting to wear this dress for a while, and a baby shower seemed like a great time to wear a pretty dress :) Last wore it in the second trimester, before the bump got too big for it.

Wasn't sure if the shower would be indoors or outdoors, so the scarf and jacket were good layers to keep me warm. They came in handy when I got back late in the evening (so indoor night time pic) and it was quite chilly. The Matches website states the scarf is big enough to double as a travel blanket too - it is! - and it's very cosy.

As the second wear of this scarf since I bought it, the final verdict is:
I'm happy I purchased it. I love blue, prints, and scarves so I think it was always going to be a winner.

Last worn: denim jacket, scarf (see above), striped dress, blue beltankle boots, Balenciaga day bag.

Kameleonz Bali Sunglasses and Discount Code | Evening at Wintergarden Brisbane

I'm blogging less regularly as life revolves around baby T. I still have photos from last week to post, as nap times have been a little shorter than I'd like! First though, I wanted to share a couple of outfits from this week as they include an exclusive promo code and a little information about the late-night shopping trip I shared on instagram.

Here's what I wore to take advantage of Brisbane's "winter heat wave":
Aussie blogger chambray shirt dress converse louis vuitton neverfull printed scarf
Sunglasses: Bali sunglasses C/O Kameleonz
ScarfMarc by Marc Jacobs scarf in Island pine-print
Dress: Ezra chambray shift dress (on sale!, new purchase)
ShoesConverse Chuck Taylor All Star low in white
BagLouis Vuitton MM damier azur neverfull

One benefit of being home with baby and not commuting means that I get to avoid the cold early morning starts and take advantage of the almost summer-like warmer winter afternoons. It was the perfect chance to wear my new chambray dress and go bare-legged. I'm wearing new sunglasses too, thanks to Kim from Kameleonz Shades. She extended a little treat for all my readers - 20% discount at Kameleonz with the code 'MICA'!

I chose to get the 'Bali' shades. They are polarised and have UV 400 protection. Now that I'm driving a lot more, polarised sunglasses are really helpful, and I couldn't resist the awesome bluey-green metallic lenses on the Bali. Like all of the Kameleonz range, the sunnies come with interchangeable side arms, so you can mix and match depending on what you're wearing. Such a great idea! I'm wearing the teal, but the Bali glasses also come with green and black arms too that you can see in the picture above.

They are really affordable for what is essentially 3 different sunglasses, but an extra discount always helps. Whether you need them for the US summer or sunny Australian winter, you can still use the discount code as they ship internationally. I can confirm shipping to Australia is really quick too!

Last worn: printed scarf, white Converse, Louis Vuitton Neverfull. First time I've worn the dress and sunnies.

Here's what I wore to go out for the evening:

Earlier this week I had the chance to get dressed up a bit and head out to Brisbane Wintergarden for a special event. My first evening out since baby T arrived! Was a little sad to be missing bath time, but it was a fun night.

Wanted to be comfortable and warm as it gets quite cool in the winter evenings, and I wanted to wear my new striped dress. The leather jacket, scarf and ankle boots kept me cosy, and I added the bright handbag to stop the outfit being too blue.

At Wintergarden we were treated to champagne, nibblies, and the chance to shop and hear more about the latest fashions coming into the centre. I shared some photos on instagram. We stopped at Seed Heritage, Coach, Mecca Maxima, MJ Bale and Designer Archives.
At Seed Heritage we got to see the new Seed Collection that's coming into stores in August. If you love luxe fabrics you should check it out, so many nice pieces. When we got to shop I did get a little distracted by the baby section and splurged on baby T, but I picked myself up a cute scarf too.  I volunteered for a demonstration at Mecca and got a mini-makeover in the form of cat eye makeup. Not a look I'd have tried myself, so it was really fun to sport it for an evening.
The Coach store was another highlight, we got to hear more about the new direction the brand is going in design-wise, and the new collection that is launching on the 15th September. Worth saving for! Also had the chance to fall in love with the Smythe bag, it's really pretty!

It was my first blogger event, and I really enjoyed it, despite missing baby T a bit. Even had the chance to meet another Brissy blogger, Pip from Outside is Colours. She has such a flair for fashion, check out her instagram!

Last worn: printed leather jacket, skull scarf, Asos ankle boots, Marc by Marc Jacobs Ukita. First time I've worn the dress.
