Printed Dresses and Pink MAB Crossbody Bag

Sharing two very different printed dresses I wore recently, with sneakers and the little Rebecca Minkoff desert rose studded MAB crossbody bag I got for Christmas.

What I wore:

Dress: Kmart red flora printed wrap dress
ShoesConverse Chuck Taylor All Star low in white
Bracelets: the usual
BagRebecca Minkoff MAB crossbody with studs in desert rose

Why I wore it:

Even though I tried to make this more causal with the Converse, it's a lot dressier than I'd normally wear for a pool party! But we had lunch after our dip in the pool so I thought this was the best option, and I was looking forward to wearing this coral print midi dress again.

While it was another hot day, this dress was nice and light and a good cover up for my swimmers. Kept it simple with no necklace so I didn't have to worry about one in the pool, and the print is interesting enough I didn't feel I needed extra accessories. I'm pleased I gave the little studded MAB bag a go with this - I wasn't sure how the dusty pink would work with the coral floral print on the dress, but I liked the two together. And I just needed a little bag for my essentials as I had a big beach tote for all the swimmers and towels.

What I wore:

Jacket: thrifted Valleygirl navy jersey blazer
DressAtmos & Here Willow printed tee dress
ShoesSketchers Bountiful navy fabric sneakers
Bracelets: the usual
BagRebecca Minkoff MAB crossbody with studs in desert rose

Why I wore it:

With a slightly cooler start to the morning and a few rain showers, I got overly excited and thought it was the perfect chance to wear this navy blazer for the first time. I got it at the opshop back in December in anticipation for going into the office more this year, but hadn't had a chance to wear it yet. We had a few errands to run in the morning, a quick stop by a friend's place to wish her happy birthday, and then I was working from home for a while before heading out to the library in the afternoon.

I quickly realised how silly I was to layer up this dress for summer though when we got to my friends house - the rain cleared up and it was so hot, I discarded the blazer for the rest of the day!

I did like the matchy-matchy of the navy blazer with the navy sneakers, and I always like wearing blue with this dress, just definitely too warm a day for such an outfit.

Just like the first outfit, I wasn't sure about this bag against the print of the dress. Again I'm glad I gave it a try. Like all the other times I've tired this floral print dress with pink bags, I really liked the result!

Last worn: floral print shift dress, Sketchers sneakers, Rebecca Minkoff studded MAB crossbody (above). First time I've worn the blazer at it was a recent opshop find.

Other ways to wear: floral print shift dress worn as a top, Sketchers sneakers and shorts, Rebecca Minkoff studded MAB crossbody and denim.

  1. You have such a good collection of pretty dresses, Mica! I think the blush pink bag goes better with the second dress, as it picks out the orange and brown tones. I think a bright saturated colour would be better with the first dress - like yellow or turquoise. The current bag just looks muddy against the vivid coral in the print.

Sounds like a couple of lovely days! Better to be too hot (with the blazer, although my matchy heart loves that it goes so well with your Cons) than too cold, right? I hope you're doing well as we head into the weekend!

    1. I have worn this dress again with a yellow bag recently - still have to get around to posting it - and you're right, I do like the combo a lot better :)

  2. Both printed dresses are gorgeous! You always rock patterns with ease. I love the blazer and can see why you were so eager to wear it. It's a shame that the weather didn't end up being suitable for it!

  10. Although I tend to agree with Sheila that the blush pink bag works better with the second dress, that first dress is an absolute stunner, and therefore my favourite! xxx

  11. The mix of pinks in the first outfit is cute! The high here yesterday morning was 60, and it was in the 30s at 6 PM, so we are getting the flip side of "Weather days that are impossible to dress for," haha!
