Weekday Wear Linkup: Two Ways To Wear Kmart Teal Floral Boho Midi Dress

Two ways to wear this beautiful Kmart teal floral print midi dress I picked up on clearance for just $12! A little bit different for today's Weekday Wear Linkup, only one of these outfits was worn during the week, the other on the weekend. Thought it would be interesting to show the different ways I've styled this dress for a weekday in the office and for a kid's birthday party on the weekend.

What I wore:

Rebecca Minkoff medium MAB tote in moon navy | awayfromtheblue

Earrings: Kmart teal tassel earrings
Jacketthrifted Zara black blazer
Dress: Kmart teal floral print midi dress (new purchase)
ShoesWalnut Melbourne 'Ava' black lizard ballet flats
BagRebecca Minkoff medium MAB tote in moon navy

Why I wore it:

I bought this dress on impulse, but when I got it home I thought it may work for the office with the modest length and neckline. It's a little more boho than I'd usually wear to work, but I think the black blazer looked perfect with it and I got so many compliments on this in the office! I was so happy to share it was only $12 at Kmart too, haha!

To keep things simple I went with my trusty black ballet flats to wear with the black jersey blazer. These flats have been worn over 100 times and are still going strong!

To try formalise the dress a little more I added this big Rebecca Minkoff medium MAB tote bag, it's great for the office with the structured shape. I liked the navy with the teal dress too!

Last worn: black jersey blazer, teal earringsblack ballet flats, Rebecca Minkoff MAB tote bag. First time I've worn the dress on the blog as it's a recent purchase.

Other ways to wearblack jersey blazer and jeans, black ballet flats and a-line skirt, Rebecca Minkoff MAB tote bag and pencil skirt.

ICYMI: What I Bought Last Month

What I wore:

Rebecca Minkoff red micro Avery cross body bag with teal floral midi dress | awayfromtheblue

Hat: Big W bow detail sunhat
Dress: Kmart teal floral print midi dress
ShoesNovo Tawny rose gold sandals
BagRebecca Minkoff red micro Avery cross body bag

Why I wore it:

A very different way to wear this dress! I actually wore this just a few days after the outfit above. I was that eager to wear the dress again, with a 5th birthday party to attend I knew it would be perfect. I wanted the longer sleeves for sun coverage, and the longer length was great for sitting on the floor with the kids as they enjoyed the party food. I did feel that the sunhat and the dress may have been a little too dressy for a backyard birthday party but it was the sunhat or borrowing one of my husband's baseball caps and the sunhat looked a lot better!

As it was a hot day I went with simple gold sandals, and then added a little extra colour to the teal outfit with the red Rebecca Minkoff micro Avery bag. It was such a well-organised party, the boys and I had a great time. I was so glad I'd worn the hat too, we ended up sitting in the sun and making the most of the beautiful day before the storm blew in.

Last worn: sun hat, Kmart teal floral midi dress (above), rose gold sandals, Rebecca Minkoff micro Avery bag.

Other ways to wearsun hat and maxi dress, rose gold sandals and maxi skirt, Rebecca Minkoff micro Avery bag and printed jeans.

Perfect for pregnancysun hat in second trimester.

Floral Midi Dresses Under $50:

How You Can Wear It:

A floral midi dress is an easy one and done outfit choice, and the long sleeves mean you don't have to worry about bracelets, but you can still change up the look with accessories! You can try adding a classic blazer and tote bag for the office, and make it work on the weekends too with simple sandals, a mini bag and a sunhat for sun protection.

But I think it would look gorgeous with yellow too, as testified by that photo of you posing in front of the daffs! xxx

I love the dress with the blazer for the office - that's how you elevate a work look! I adore that hat on you in the second outfit - it looks fabulous! You need red sandals to go with your red bag!

PS - if you wear black ballet flats so much, you should invest in a better pair, an upgrade in quality from KMart! It's a worthwhile investment for those workhorses in our wardrobes!
