What I wore:
Top: thrifted Spirit grey marle jumper
Jeans: thrifted ASOS petite green skinny jeans
Shoes: Converse Chuck Taylor All Star low in black
Bag: Rebecca Minkoff Love cross body bag in grey
Why I wore it:
Wore this to take the boys to a local indoor play area, as it had been raining overnight and was predicted to rain more so we couldn't head to the park, but they needed to run around a bit. I picked an easy and comfortable outfit, with my green skinny jeans that have become a frequent go-to this winter, my favourite (and only!) snood and my Converse. The grey knit is one I thrifted before our Europe trip and took overseas with me, it worked well with my olive jeans so I wanted to try wearing it with these brighter green ones. I really liked this combination.I'd been wearing my Rebecca Minkoff love cross body bag that week so decided to keep wearing it with this outfit, I thought the neutral grey went nicely with the knit.
Last worn: grey knit, Paisley print snood, green skinny jeans, Converse, Rebecca Minkoff love bag.
Other ways to wear: grey knit and cobalt scarf, Paisley print snood and little red dress, green skinny jeans with striped tee, Converse and maxi skirt, Rebecca Minkoff love bag worn 30 ways.
Perfect for pregnancy: Paisley print snood in second trimester, Converse for second trimester travel, Rebecca Minkoff love bag in second trimester.
Rebecca Minkoff Regular and Small Love Bag Comparison:
What I wore:
Jeans: Jeanswest Vicki skinny pant in moss green
Shoes: Kmart sparkly silver glitter sneakers
Bag: Rebecca Minkoff chevron quilted small Love crossbody bag in pale coral
Why I wore it:
Despite following a similar outfit formula, I didn't like this second outfit as much as the first one. I thought the olive skinny jeans would go nicely with this fun foil polka dot print knit, and I did like the combination, especially when I matched the foil polka dots with the silver glitter shoes for a very sparkly outfit. You know I like a bit of matchy-matchy!With the silver sparkle and then the pop of colour with the coral Rebecca Minkoff small love bag, I felt that this outfit was enough as it was and I didn't add a scarf to it. It was a warm day, sitting in the sunshine at the playground, and I was glad I hadn't added the scarf as I didn't really need it.
I did feel that this outfit was missing a little something when I looked at the photos afterwards though, and wish I had added a scarf, I think the first outfit looked great because of the printed snood. A nice outfit, just one that feels a bit flat in the pics.
Last worn: foil polka dot knit, olive skinny jeans, silver glitter sneakers, Rebecca Minkoff small Love bag.
Other ways to wear: foil polka dot knit and shorts, olive skinny jeans for international flight, silver glitter sneakers and denim shorts, Rebecca Minkoff small Love bag with navy.
Grey Knits Under $50:
How You Can Wear It:
A simple grey knit and jeans is a staple mum outfit for winter, especially paired with comfortable shoes like this! To mix it up a little, you can wear colourful denim instead of the classic blue, and add a printed scarf or brightly coloured bag to make your outfit pop.Linking up with Trendy Thursday, Fabulous Friday, Fancy Friday, Weekend Wear.

ReplyDeleteLove this look, Great post!
ReplyDeleteI'm following you! X.
I read sometimes that you didn't like the 2nd look of an outfit formula as much as the first one and when I think about this, exactly the same happens to me, too :) But I love both of your looks and I see the shirt you bought before your trip to Europe is really versatile and cool!

I like the scurf, it adds chic to the outfit. Orange bag is fab.

Mica, I actually really like both outfits! I agree with the comment above...I think it's the green jeans that's really making the first one pop:) And love both bags as well.
ReplyDeletePS I think you would totally rock the blue hair, but yeah...bleaching is so harsh! I've been doing it for decades so my hair has always been fried, but with your beautiful hair, I would not suggest it esp. if you're planning to donate again.:)
Yeah I want to donate, maybe grown my hair a little longer before I do so I don't have to have my hair quite as short afterwards! So no bleach for me :(
DeleteI love how that orange bag really pops in the second outfit especially! These are both so cute! Hope you are having a great week!
ReplyDeleteThe bright green really pops in the first outfit - and the grey/black and marled scarf are classic additions. In the second outfit, you're doing two neutrals (one more cool, one more warm), so perhaps this muddies a bit. Some people like that, some like more contrast - I think that the bag in this outfit makes it. I do adore that you matched your shiny bits!
ReplyDeleteThanks Sheila! i think I would have preferred more contrast - you nailed it perfectly!
DeleteI love both of these casual looks, Mica! Both bags are so pretty! I love both the grey and coral! They really complement each look. Hope you're having a great week so far! XXX
ReplyDeleteFor some reason green is one of the colors I rarely buy but you have given me some ideas about what colors would work well with it. I like the grey and green color combination.
