Wrap Top Worn 2 Ways With Camel Trench Coat, Converse and Skinny Jeans

Living in Brisbane, I don't really have a lot of winter coats. This thick lined trench coat is as wintery as I get, so I knew it had to come on the trip to Scotland with me. A classic camel trench, it works well with skinny jeans and Converse.

What I wore:

ScarfMarc by Marc Jacobs mauve square scarf
TopDorothy Perkins 3/4 sleeve wrap top
JeansJeanswest Cecile dove grey skinny jeans
ShoesConverse Chuck Taylor All Star low in black
BagLouis Vuitton Damier Ebene 30 speedy bandouliere

Why I wore it:

Wore this for a very fun-filled day! For something a little different, we took the boys into Edinburgh via the train rather than the bus. Then we visited the wonderful Camera Obscura. It's a must-do in Edinburgh, especially with kids. There are 5 levels and we had to pull the boys away from each - they didn't want to leave as there was so much to do!

Kept cosy but wearing my blue wrap top under my trench coat, as it has 3/4 length sleeves. It was still a little chilly at the top of Camera Obscura though, even with my purple scarf, as it was a bit windy.

Converse are an essential for walking around - they were worn so much during our trip!

Last worn: camel trench, purple scarf, blue wrap top, grey skinny jeans, Converse, Louis Vuitton speedy bandouliere.

Other ways to wearcamel trench and printed dress, purple scarf and purple jeans, blue wrap top and pencil skirt, grey skinny jeans and studded blouse, Converse for international flights, Louis Vuitton speedy bandouliere for Disneyland.

Perfect for pregnancycamel trench in second trimester, Converse in second trimester, Louis Vuitton speedy bandouliere in third trimester.

Why I wore it:

A very similar outfit formula again! I wore my blue marle wrap top with my olive skinny jeans this time, and the Burberry tartan scarf for extra warmth. Kept with the classic camel trench and Converse shoes. We spent the morning at Dalkeith Country Park which has a wooden fort that the boys adored, as you can imagine! Lots of running around and playing. After lunch and a bit more of a play we headed over to Butterfly World, which was wonderfully heated and much appreciated after the cold day in the park!

I completely shed all my layers by then, the scarf and trench coat weren't needed inside the heated greenhouse!

  6. A camel trench is indeed a classic and works with practically everything. I admire your packing skills. I'm about to pack for my UK holiday, but have no weight restrictions as we'll be travelling by car. Such as relief, as I would be hopeless at packing a capsule wardrobe! xxx

  25. That was an excellent capsule for travelling. Every time we go somewhere, I try to pack less than the previous trips. We went to USA for 6.5 weeks with the kids last year and took 2 duffle bags and the car seat as checked baggage (for 4 of us. The kids were 5yo and 3yo). Of course, it helps when you can do a load of washing a few times a trip! Loved your outfits.

    1. Oh you did well! I definitely packed more than I needed too, but I was grateful for the options after our washing got hailed on 3 times and took a long time to dry, haha!

I am just back from a business trip to south america and its quite cold there, I too took my trench with me and it came in quite handy as its currently 9 degrees in some places.
