My mum got me a pink tee in this same style for Christmas. I love it, so when I saw it was available in a stripe and on sale I just had to get that too. Not bad for $13.99 ($3.99 if you don't count the $10 rewards voucher I used on it!). It's the first fashion purchase I've made in a couple months and so I was eager to wear it right away. Plus with the schools reopen now I have a reason to leave the house and wear my new tee!
What I wore:
Jacket: thrifted black Emerson drawstring waist utility jacketNecklace: navy and silver circle pendant tassel necklace
Tee: Cotton On "The One" fitted v tee in Cole stripe white moonlight (new purchase)
Jeans: thrifted Emerson red skinny jeans
Shoes: New Balance white and blue sneakers
Bag: Louis Vuitton Damier Ebene 30 speedy bandouliere
Why I wore it:
This was a very simple outfit, really an autumn version of this one I wore to a picnic a couple of weeks before, with the extra jacket. I like wearing these thrifted red skinny jeans with stripes, it's a good combo so this was the first outfit that came to mind when I thought about buying this striped tee.The black drawstring waist jacket I put over the top was an opshopfind too. It was just $1 and so I had to have it! Like the red skinny jeans it's originally from the Emerson brand at Big W too before it was donated.
The only thing I didn't like about this outfit was that the buttons keeping the cuffed sleeves up kept coming undone, but I put that down to me being in a rush that morning to get out the door on time and not taking care to button the sleeves up properly. I hope that wasn't why it was donated! I didn't seem to have those issues the other time I wore the jacket though thankfully.
Last worn: utility jacket, navy tassel necklace, red skinny jeans, New Balance sneakers, Louis Vuitton speedy bandouliere.
Other ways to wear: utility jacket with green, red skinny jeans and peplum tee, Louis Vuitton speedy bandouliere in the office.
Perfect for pregnancy: Louis Vuitton speedy bandouliere in third trimester.

What I wore:
Jacket: Jeanswest Kitty denim biker jacketNecklace: Starfish Project Hannah turquoise bead necklace
Tee: Cotton On "The One" fitted v tee in Cole stripe white moonlight
Skirt: thrifted Crossroads black ruffle hem maxi skirt
Shoes: New Balance white and blue sneakers
Bag: Rebecca Minkoff 2012 sky grey mini MAC bag
Why I wore it:
This black maxi skirt, yet another $1 opshop find, was overdue a wear and I knew the plain black would work with this Cotton On striped tee so well. As it was a colder day I added the denim moto jacket, but even with the added colour from the blue Rebecca Minkoff mini MAC bag and jacket this outfit felt like it was missing a little something. The green necklace was the perfect solution for a little extra touch of colour, and just like the first time I wore this tee I thought it was perfect. Definitely glad I added this to my admittedly large tee collection, I can see why they call it "The One". I'm hoping it's a regular product so I can buy it when it comes out in more colours!
I did think this outfit (like the one above) would have been much better with ankle boots rather than my daggy sneakers, but with the school drop off and then spending time walking around the neighbourhood with my youngest I needed something to support my injured knee.
Last worn: moto denim jacket, green statement necklace, striped tee (above), black maxi skirt, New Balance sneakers (above), Rebecca Minkoff mini MAC.
Other ways to wear: moto denim jacket and tee dress, black maxi skirt at Disneyland, Rebecca Minkoff mini MAC in monochrome outfit.
Where To Buy Cotton On The One Tee:
You can pickup this tee in v neck or crew neck style.
How To Wear It:
A Striped tee is a wardrobe staple and pairs well with both jeans and maxi skirts. With the neutral black and white stripes, it's easy to add a little more colour to your outfit with colourful accessories or a bright pair of jeans.Weekday Wear Linkup #74

ReplyDeleteGreat outfits and looks. I love the red jeans :-D
ReplyDeleteI'm loving both of these outfits Mica. A striped tee is so versatile! My favorite look this time is the second one with skirt but those red jeans look stunning on you too!
ReplyDeleteI too decided to order clothes online for my daughter, as she had outgrown many of her summer clothes.

Both looks are gorgeous - and I adore that jean jacket. It looks so stunning! Also, it is scary to hear that people aren't really social distancing. I'm seeing that where I live as well. People have really started to slack on taking personal responsibility and it's terrifying. Sigh! Anyway, I hope that you have a wonderful week.
ReplyDeletethe creation of beauty is art.
Yes I need to try keep my distance when we are out - I hope we don't all fall back into old habits!
Delete"Daggy sneakers"...LOL...is that an Aussie thing? I'm totally stealing it!:D And love both tees. You look super cute in both outfits, Mica. You can never go wrong with stripes. My hubby makes fun of my stripe obsession:)
ReplyDeleteAnd yeah...people here are really getting worse when it comes to social distancing esp with more stores opening up:(
Must be an Aussie saying! Feel free to use it! :)
DeleteMy link pictures keep going sideways on a couple sites... weird! Anyhow, looks like a great tee! They go with so much and this one looks like a nice thickness. Love your opfinds! Amazing the cool deals you can sometimes find!

I love the drawstring coat, you always find such great bargains! And you absolutely rock that maxi skirt, I'm tall but sometimes I find there is just too much material for me, but I really like how you styled it :)

ReplyDeleteI hope your week is off to a great start, friend. :) Mine has been a bit busy so far, but I'm enjoying our pretty weather today.

Everything is adorable but that $1 utility jacket is the best!! What a steal. I like the weight of the jacket. Looks perfect for in-between seasons.
ReplyDeleteI love the green necklace with the top...it really makes it shine.

Stripes are always a favorite of mine! That denim moto jacket though, I think that is such a fun piece!! I love that it looks casual and edgy at the same time.
ReplyDeleteI love Cotton On—their pieces are so soft and last forever. And stripes are always such a classic!

You can never go wrong with wearing stripes. Kids grow so fast. My daughter has grown out of her summer clothes from last year. Lucky my mother in law thirfted her some shorts for .99 cents.

Those shorts were a bargain! I wish more opshops were open here so I could get clothes for the kids! Cotton On did have some nice things though :)
DeleteI love the stripes paired with the red. Such a bold and fun look! You are always the cutest in every look :)

The Kids outgrow their clothes SO quickly! And as my son is quite tall for his age, he has even outgrown his sisters clothes mostly...
ReplyDeleteIt's funny how quickly they grow out of things!
DeleteYou can't beat striped T shirts , they always look good. Glad to hear Cotton On are using ethically grown cotton. Children grow out of things so quickly . Sounds like things are slowly returning to normal there
ReplyDeleteYou can't beat a good striped T Shirt , they are a classic and go with everything. Glad to hear Cotton On is using ethically sourced cotton. Children certainly grow out of their clothes so quickly. Good to hear your schools are back. Many thanks for hosting Mica, enjoy your week.
You can never have enough striped tops, so your new tee will certainly proves its value in your wardrobe. And what great value indeed, especially with the voucher. I love both of the outfits you created with it. The first one is such a classic with those red skinny jeans. But I'm loving your second outfit as well, and agree that the green necklace was the perfect addition to make it shine! xxx
ReplyDeleteLOVE your speedy SO much!! And your video!! You're always so great on camera. And yes to Chloe - and your chic outfits here!! xo

Beautiful outfits! I think the second one is my favorites, but I always love stripes :)
ReplyDeleteLindifique
These are both solid outfits, Mica, but my heart belongs to the red skinny pants with the striped. The jacket is great, as is the denim one. If the buttonholes are too big, you could tighten them up slightly with a quick couple of stitches - it's not hard.
ReplyDeleteThat's a good idea! Thank you Sheila!
DeleteYes, kids are growing fast and we often don't realise it until we put them in clothes the didn't wear for a longer time :) The shirt you bought is fantastic and for sure very versatile. I like both looks with it!

I like your stripe tee with the dark blue jacket as it looks nautical. Good on you to have a strap on this LV bag, makes it more wearable.

Yes the bandouliere is such a great style, the strap is so practical!
DeleteI really like both outfits! A stripe tee is such a great piece to have.
ReplyDeleteI actually also haven't been shopping for clothing in stores lately for the same reasons.

Fabulous outfits both of them....love that denim biker jacket so much.
ReplyDeleteIsn't it funny how fast kids outgrown clothes? My brother told me there was a big line for a kids' clothing store in front of their apartment once the shops reopened after the quarantine. I think shops are never completely safe as many people forget about social isolating- so buying online makes perfect sense.
I can see that - my kids have grown so much, they needed all new winter wardrobes almost!
DeleteThanks all for your lovely comments :)
ReplyDeleteThree great bags Mica, I love that first one with the big buttons.
ReplyDeleteI did not take a bag with me on my wedding day now that I think of it.
