What I Bought In Autumn and How I've Worn It: Shopping Haul & Try On Video

Sharing a bit of everything with this What I bought post! Just like last month, I'm wrapping up a few weeks of purchases at once, so sharing my April and May autumn purchases.

Fashion items I picked up before our trip away, as well as the souvenirs I bought in Europe. (Technically the Europe purchases are spring buys but it felt like winter to me over there 😂 )

What I've Bought In Autumn:

What I Was Given:

Why I Bought It:

Quite a few impulse buys this month! The Mickey Mouse tee was something I hadn't intended to buy, I went to Uniqlo to check out the kids Disney tees for our Disneyland trip and when I saw adult sizes I had to get one too! I was hunting for kid's shoes in Big W when I came across the mustard tee and given how much I love mustard and that I've been wearing a lot of v-neck tees lately, had to add that to my trolley!

The berry blouse I'd been admiring at Jeanswest for a while waiting for a sale, and when it was reduced from $70 to $20 I had to buy it! They didn't have my size in store so I had to order it in and when it arrived shortly before we left I decided just to pack it for my trip as a last minute addition. The denim jacket is something I've had on my wishlist for a while, my current one is over 10 years old and I've mentioned a few times I want to update it, and when I saw this one I knew it would be perfect.

The Mickey Mouse scarf and the Edinburgh tourist tee were fun souvenirs from our trip!

How I've Worn It:

Not everything has been worn twice to meet my 'wear twice in the month I buy it' goals. Due to 3 weeks of travelling I'm giving myself a bit of grace there! The orange cami my mum picked up in the sales I couldn't wear due to the cold temps, which is a shame as it's so cute! I did get in one wear when I got back to Brisbane.

Printed Dresses for Church In Cooler Weather

While we visited Scotland in the spring time, the weather was more like a Brisbane winter! I did pack some pretty dresses for those occasions when I wanted to feel a little more pulled-together but had to layer them up a little bit more to make the temperatures bearable. Covering my legs was a must - I packed lots of tights and leggings! These dress outfits were perfect for attending church.

Shoes: RMK Chester black ankle boots

Why I wore it:

I did actually have my trench coat over this dress but I took it off for the photos. Thankfully we took these around lunch time when the weather was a bit warmer, but I was still grateful to pop my coat back on after snapping a few shots!

This pretty Ikat print dress is a firm favourite, and being a sheer polyester with a polyester slip underneath it meant extra layers to keep me cosy! I paired it with my fleece lined tights and ankle boots, as well as my purple scarf and big trench coat.

We'd spent the morning at another church so I'd picked this pretty dress to wear. On our way to lunch, we passed this church yard and the gate was open after a recent service. Much to to the surprise of hubby and the boys, I pulled the car over and we ran in for a few quick photos. The church is Liberton Kirk, built in 1815 so over 200 years old! It looks absolutely stunning with the red doors and the greenery growing all over it. So pleased to be able to get some photos there!

Why I wore it:

It was a warmer day when I wore this outfit - so I went without a jacket. I picked leggings to keep my legs covered, and the long sleeves on this dress kept my arms covered up from the wind too. It's not just cold in Scotland, it's so windy! Thankfully there wasn't too much wind on this day.

Had to pose under a cherry blossom tree for a photo with my floral dress. #bloggerlife This mustard dress I picked up from Zaful after seeing it on Ruth's blog has gotten more wear than I expected - with the ruffles it's nice for making me feel a bit more dressed up.

Paired with Converse and my trusty Louis Vuitton speedy bandouliere bag, it was an easy outfit for church and then an afternoon BBQ.
