Blue Printed Maxi Skirts, Text Tees And Rebecca Minkoff Tote

Two very comfortable outfits I wore back in January when I was recovering from my wisdom teeth surgery. Simple text tees, printed maxi skirts, sneakers and the always practical Rebecca Minkoff studded unlined tote bag.

BagRebecca Minkoff medium unlined tote in black with shellac studded dome hardware

Why I wore it:

Wore this tee for a little bit of local shopping! While I'd been stuck at home for almost a week recovering from surgery I'd anticipated feeling better on this day so I'd booked the kids in for a school holiday workshop a few weeks prior, and then we set off to get some essentials that we hadn't been able to get in our regular grocery shop due to the explosion of Covid cases. While the big supermarkets had very little choice and a lot of empty shelves, as hoped for all the local independent stores and the IGA had what we needed. It really pays to shop local!

Had an appointment with the surgeon in the afternoon to check up on post-surgery complications and see why my recovery wasn't going as well as expected too.

Thought this Love Local tee would be a very appropriate one to wear for the day, and I really just wanted an easy and comfortable outfit as I anticipated having to travel around a few shops to get what we needed. This oversized tee tucks in nicely to the tie dye maxi skirt and I like black and blue together. The black Converse and black Rebecca Minkoff unlined tote bag matched it nicely as well.

Last worn: Love Local tee, tie dye maxi skirt, black Converse, Rebecca Minkoff unlined tote.

Most and Least Used Bags In My Handbag Collection:

What I wore:

Skirt: Target navy side split maxi skirt

Why I wore it:

Didn't take a proper photo of this outfit in my back yard as usual! This was only a couple days after surgery and my face was still significantly swollen up. Thank goodness you couldn't tell once I had the face mask on! We took the kids out that morning for their first vaccine, as they were only eligible for it here from the 10th January. I really wasn't feeling great and slept a lot when we got home but I'd booked the first slot I could for them, knowing it was close to my surgery date but that being a bit sore and uncomfortable was a small thing to deal with to make sure they were vaccinated.

I'd planned my outfit in advance as I knew I'd not have the energy that morning! Again, like the above it was a simple text tee with a printed maxi skirt. This navy striped skirt goes with everything and it worked well with my Pfiiizer tee that my sister got me for Christmas. (Jimmy Rees being an Australian treasure!) I thought it fitting to wear for the kids vaccine appointment, it made me smile!

The black Rebecca Minkoff tote bag again was a good practical choice as it fits everyone's water bottles inside easily. The little reusable tote bag was one they gave the kids with some activities and stickers for while they were waiting around before leaving the venue, which was helpful.

Last worn: navy stripe maxi skirt, blue Converse, Rebecca Minkoff unlined tote (above). First time I've worn the tee as it was a Christmas present.

Other ways to wearnavy stripe maxi skirt and denim jacket, blue Converse and denim skirt, Rebecca Minkoff unlined tote and dress.

How You Can Wear It:

Just like shorts and a tee, a maxi skirt and tee is an equally comfortable summer outfit! A fun printed one can add a little interest to a neutral grey or black tee as I've worn here.

  2. Ooh how I love your tee and maxi skirt combo. Looks super cozy. Talking about wisdom tooth removal, I was having a conversation about the subject with a friend as he was afraid of getting his removed as his dentist had recommended him to. My sister was due to remove hers too but she's been procrastinating since before the pandemic, hahah. I so agree with you that now is the time to support our local businesses! Time's tough right now and I do my bit to shop local any chance I get :) Hope you and kiddos are doing well. I wish you a fab week ahead <3 xoxo

    1. Oh mine have been due to come out for ages - I had a very bad experience getting 2 out in the chair years ago that gave me a fear of dentists I never had - it took me a while to work up the courage to get these out and in the end the pain was the thing that made me do it. It's nice to be pain free!

Two perfect easy-going outfits, but I'm loving the second one the most. I think I need that tee :-) and I love the stripes and checks pattern mix going on between your skirt and your mask! Glad to hear the boys have received their first vaccine now! xxx

  11. I hope you're recovering now, Mica - I still have all of my wisdom teeth!

Love your printed skirts - they really go with everything, don't they? I love a graphic tee, and you can't go wrong with "Shop Local" (good for you!). I bet you got a ton of comments on it!

That is a lovely bag - I am not able to use that kind of shopper anymore, as it wreaks havoc on my back.

Almost the weekend! take care, Mica!

    1. Yes it is the kind of tee that gets approving comments! It makes me smile :) thankfully this tote is super light (unlined leather) and so it's a breeze to carry!
I kinda wish I had all mine - but they were causing issues so I had to go through the drama of removing them sadly!

    1. Hopefully they get approval for younger years soon so you don't have to wait so long! I feel better knowing my kids are vaccinated - I know it doesn't hit a lot of kids hard, but with pre-existing conditions.... I worry about long covid too.

  17. I'm sorry you've had to have dental surgery. I had quite a bit when I was younger and remember the swollen face and nagging pain.
Loving the tie-dyed maxi skirt and I'm glad your children have been able to get vaccinated. All our restrictions were lifted a month ago and so far, we've not had any major spikes in infection. The end is in sight! xxx

    1. Its great the end is in sight for you! We went from having 0 cases here to having thousands daily when they relaxed restrictions so it's taking some getting used to, this "new normal" where our friends and family are falling sick. Luckily not us yet.
