This dress is one of my latest shopbop purchases. I took it to the tailor to get it shortened a little for me before I could wear it, as it was really long on me. A maxi dress was the perfect thing to wear to spend time with my friends on Saturday and watch the Brisbane Riverfire fireworks. Although I took my denim jacket in case I got cold, I didn't need it after the rain cleared up for a hot and sunny afternoon. We had a great view of the Story Bridge, yummy food and it was nice catching up with everyone.

Last worn: studded sandals, Miu Miu studded clutch. First time I've worn the dress as it's a recent purchase.

After a little bit of a late night on Saturday, a nice relaxing Sunday :) Wearing one of my newest tees that I won by entering a church competition. Big bag today to carry some notebooks back to work, and also as I had a meeting on the other side of the city I had to take stuff along too. It was a nice sunny day, so a simple printed dress. Haven't worn this dress as much as I expected too after I bought it, so today was it's last wear. It's feels a little more casual than some of my other work dresses, so I usually pass by it in my wardrobe in favour of another. After reading Blue Paper Laterns Closet Inventory post, I've been thinking about how many clothes I own and how rarely I wear most of them. I need to be more ruthless with removing things that aren't perfect. Maybe once I've had a few more wardrobe clearouts I'll be brave enough to try and count what I have!

Sorry for the poor quality photos - these were taken as I waited on the taxi around 5am Tuesday morning! Had to fly to another state for an all-day meeting which required being up before sunrise and getting home just a little before midnight. A really long day. Thank you for sharing some tips for flying with a cold - they were so helpful. I drank lots of water and brought a scarf too to try keep me cosy on the plane.

I wanted to look professional but stay warm, so I picked this lovely jacket, fun printed top (to take direction away from my tired face!) and a black pencil skirt. It was a lovely outfit idea, but mid-flight turbulence and a banana peel meant my skirt didn't end up as pristine as it started...hurriedly splashing it with water helped a little at least. Although still too sick with the cold to smell properly, I'm sure my colleague was only joking when he said I smelt like banana :P

After Tuesday's long day, a sleep in was required so I worked from home today. Was good to catch up on everything I'd missed from being out of the office yesterday. 

Nice casual and comfortable outfit, good for working from home and taking a relaxing stroll to the post office to pick up a wonderful parcel from my church! A couple of months ago, Cooper won the "At the Movies" video competition by re-enacting this famous clip....

 And this is the great prize pack we won! Cooper liked it too :)

A lazy Sunday was just what I needed. Spent the morning in my PJs feeling sorry for myself with the cold. Wanted to be comfortable so an airy skirt and loose top were perfect to battle the heat. Wearing the same bag as yesterday as I didn't feel like switching over all of the contents :)

Cooper looks rather sad for some reason! He didn't want to come closer to the camera though, strange little man.
Quite happy to be wearing these sunglasses again :) I'd misplaced them for a while and was beginning to think I had lost them, until I found them in one of my bags. Swapping to new bags every day, sometimes things like sunglasses get left behind. I've left my wallet in a bag once too, and after having to borrow money from a colleague for lunch I now always check for my wallet and phone before I leave the house!

This outfit was completely inspired by Dash Dot Dotty blog! I was reading blogs on Tuesday evening and came across this post with a grey tee and printed pencil skirt. Knew it was the perfect outfit to wear to the office on Wednesday! Although I don't have an animal print skirt, I really liked this combination of the lace skirt and tee. Had a day with a few big meetings, but nothing too formal so the tee was okay. Such a comfortable outfit too.

First time I've featured my sister on the blog, and isn't she beautiful? We wore these outfits for dinner, drinks and a little bit of shopping after work. For work I had a normal bag and flats, I just changed to heels and a clutch for the evening. My knee is still healing so a full day and night in heels would have been a little too much for it! Couldn't resist getting a little glammed up for the 'Girl's Night Out' event at Michael Hill though.
Had lots of fun, and make a small sparkly purchase ;) The store in Brisbane Queen's Plaza stocks some very unique and beautiful designs. Jamie, one of the employees, was telling me that most of the range is only available at that store, and no-where else in Australia.
Highlight of the evening was getting to meet the lovely Jesse Heart, fashion director at my favourite mag Shop Til You drop. I'm looking forward to the fortnightly editions!

I usually pick my outfits out the night before as I have no time in the morning. On Tuesday night, when the storm started to hit our power went out. As it was a little risky trying to find things in my wardrobe by candlelight and not set anything on fire, I just went with a simple printed dress and pink accessories. Added the scarf in the morning for a bit of print mixing interest and to keep me warm as it was still a little chilly.
After a very sleepless night (as Cooper is scared of storms) I skipped doing my hair and makeup and just wore BB cream and left my hair wavy. Luckily, I didn't have any face to face meetings to worry about today, so it was mostly unnoticed.

Saturday was such a strange day weather wise! Really windy and blustery, but still warm when the wind died down. It was the perfect jeans and tee weather, but I had to go to the physio so couldn't have my knee covered. I added a denim jacket to this, as my friend wearing hers yesterday prompted me to dig mine out, but with the weird weather I kept taking it off and on all day.

First time this jacket has been featured on the blog. I had a look for the last time I remember wearing it, and found this picture from 3 years ago where I was covered in parrots, haha! When I first bought it in a City Beach sale around 10 years ago I was so happy at the bargain I got, and wore it over and over. Although it's rarely worn now, I keep it around as I think everyone can use a denim jacket sometimes.

Got this tank at DFO last weekend, it was a lonely little tank sitting in among some other sale items and it happened to be my size. As there was both girls and guys stuff side by side, I'm not entirely sure if this is a guy's top? But it is slouchy and comfortable so I bought it anyway! :)

A couple of times I've worn this skirt people have suggested I add a belt, so when I saw this belt in Forever New my skirt popped to mind right away! Really liked the little bit of colour the belt added, brought out some of the blue in the skirt print.

I purchased this top a year ago and this is only the third time it's been worn, that's a really bad rate for such a pretty top! I definitely need to wear it more often. Had a big presentation to do on Tuesday, to around 100 people. I was so nervous. The night before I tried on 3 different outfits as I kept changing my mind. After picking one, I changed my mind again in the morning as I got dressed, and went back to this one!
This was a good choice, I felt as confident as I could speaking in front of all those people. It could have gone better, but considering my nerves and the size of the audience I think I did well. :)

Lots of orange today! Last night I read Sheila's first monochrome outfit post and was thinking about what monochrome outfit I could possibly put together for the challenge.... All blue would have been easy (you know I have lots of blue!) but I wanted to try something different.
This dress has been pretty neglected in the cooler weather but now it's spring I will be trying to wear it a lot more. I thought it would work well with my rusty orange Balenciaga bag, and the camel flats are a kind of orangey-tan. I did cheat and add a little beige with a scarf to keep me warm on the way to work in the morning.

What do you think, is it a successful monochrome look?

Today was a fun girls day out! We started our day at DFO Brisbane, shopping for spring accessories, and ended the day with dinner and drinks.

We all had such a great time at DFO, and came home with at least one shopping bag each! Nothing beats the giggles and quality time you get shopping together with friends. There were plenty of different stores to keep us all interested, and with up to 70% off, something to fit everyone's budget.

Our main destinations for Spring accessories were Oroton and Forever New, although of course we stopped in to check out the other amazing sales going on in the outlets! I shared some photos of our shopping on instagram as it happened, but here's a reveal of the accessories I bought:

1. Oroton vanity-jewellery roll in pink. The pink is such a cheerful Spring colour, will brighten up the inside of any bag! Was $125, reduced to $50. 
2. Forever New 'Poppy' gunmetal embellished clutch. Caught my eye from across the store, the perfect Spring bling! Was $49.95, reduced to $34.95.
3. Forever New 3 pack belts in orchid petal / glitter / white croc. Great pastel belts for a new season colour update to winter dresses. Was $19.95, reduced to $4.95.
4. Forever New coral / white wrap around charm bracelet. Such a cute piece, couldn't resist picking it up to add some colour to bracelet stacks. Was $16.99, reduced to $7.95.

Some great bargains there, I saved $114! Enough for another shopping trip.... What do you think of my purchases?
