What I wore:
Jacket: Barkins beige trench coatEarrings: Ana Luisa 'Olivia' tassel earrings in pink
Scarf: Nali feather print pashmina scarf
Jumper: white vintage knit jumper from my mum's wardrobe
Skirt: Cotton On 'Mica' mesh spot skirt in dusty pink
Shoes: RMK Chester black ankle boots
Bag: Mulberry Bayswater in Oak NVT leather (cheaper second hand)
Why I wore it:
It was a really cold day when I wore this! I know I've worn this pencil skirt recently but I really wanted to wear it again, this time with a cosy white knit that's originally from my mums wardrobe. Even the ribbed jumper wasn't enough to keep me warm though, the taupe feather print scarf was a must have for the cold morning. So were the ankle boots! With all of the neutrals I went with my pink tassel earrings to add a little more colour, even though it's a brighter pink than the blush of the skirt I think it worked nicely.
Other ways to wear: camel trench in a castle, feather print scarf and burgundy pants, white ribbed knit and leather jacket, polka dot pencil skirt and black blouse, black ankle boots worn 30 ways, Mulberry Bayswater tote and sheath dress.
Perfect for pregnancy: camel trench in first trimester, polka dot pencil skirt in first trimester, ankle boots in second trimester, Mulberry Bayswater tote in third trimester.
What's In My Bag: Mulberry Bayswater
What I wore:
Scarf: grey and gold embroidered feather scarf
Tee: Spectrum basic v-neck tee in grey marl
Skirt: Jeanswest zip detail ponte pencil skirt
Shoes: Walnut Melbourne 'Ava' black lizard ballet flats
Bag: Mulberry Bayswater in Oak NVT leather (cheaper second hand)
Why I wore it:
I felt a bit flustered this morning! The weather was much warmer, which meant me ditching the knit I'd planned to wear the night before, and just wearing a grey tee under my navy coat. I still wanted to wear my pretty feather embroidered scarf though, and I thought the darker grey worked nicely with the lighter grey of the tee. With having to change my outfit at the last minute because of the weather, and already running a little late, I had a very rushed start to the day, especially after taking the first few photos with my bag facing backwards, and having to retake them again so you could actually see the detail on the Mulberry bayswater bag! Thankfully the day improved from there.
Last worn: navy mac, grey v-neck tee, feather embroidered scarf, black pencil skirt, black ballet flats, Mulberry Bayswater (above).
Other ways to wear: navy mac and stripes, grey v-neck tee and shorts, feather embroidered scarf and printed dress, black pencil skirt over a dress, black ballet flats and skinny jeans, Mulberry Bayswater and chambray dress.
Perfect for pregnancy: grey v-neck tee in second trimester, black pencil skirt in first trimester, black ballet flats in third trimester, Mulberry Bayswater in second trimester.
Feather Print Scarves Under $50:
How You Can Wear It:
A simple neutral top works well with a pencil skirt in the office. You can wear a knit if it's colder or a casual tee when it warms up a little. You can add a scarf for some extra interest and warmth in your daily commute too, and a printed or embroidered one is a great idea if your top is a basic neutral.Weekday Wear Linkup #31

DeleteWhat a wonderful bag! Such a great staple piece.
ReplyDeleteOh my gosh, I'm glad to know it's not just me who has to re-take photos due to some silly error on my part. I've totally had my bag facing backwards, necklace twisted, shirt buttoned wrong...you name it! You'd think I'd catch these things before photos by now! LOL! Well, you still managed to look polished and put together so I'm glad your day turned around!
ReplyDeletehaha yes I wish I noticed before I snapped!
DeleteLoving the little pops of colour in your neutral outfits! I hear you on the photo rushing... some days I don't even get to take a photo and it's only when it's dark I realise I've forgotten... sigh! You look lovely in all these work outfits xx

I've been doing it so long it's become quite a habit now grabbing that quick pic in the morning, but sometimes I don't have a lot of time, haha!
DeleteWhat a beautiful bag! I really like that first look and again adding the scarves just make the outfits so complete. I am going to step up my game this fall: have lots of scarves I should wear more!

DeleteI love your looks! The bag is gorgeous! My first time linking up with your blog today. Somehow my picture is not showing up...
ReplyDeleteSorry you had technical issues but thanks for linking!
DeleteYou look cozy warm and professional at the same time!
ReplyDeleteHow on earth do you manage to make such a blah colour as beige look so sunny and warm on you, Mica? You are magic! I love that you themed your post with feather-printed scarves - it's so specific, but both outfits work so well.
ReplyDeleteHave a great week, my dear!
haha thank you Sheila! :)
DeleteOh I love both of these tone on tone looks. Subtle but still fashion forward so perfect for the more low key professional office environment. Does it get super cold there? In winter in NY it get really cold with the polar vortex. This looks more like late fall weather gear,

It was colder in Europe in spring time so it's not that cold like you get with the snow, it never snows in Brisbane, haha! Still feels cold to us!
DeleteSuch chic outfits! The pink looks great paired with the camel and brown tones, such a great color choice! Happy Monday!

The longer navy jacket is my favourite. I love also Mulberry, I don't have a Bayswater, but a great vintage satchel from my mum that I love. FInally back after a while, have a lovely week, Mica. x
ReplyDeleteI love both of these outfits with pencil skirts! The polka dot skirt is really pretty and I love how cozy that outfit is. This has me wishing for colder weather. I hope you have a great week Mica!

You really do have such a fabulous collection of scarves and bags, Mica! Both outfits look cosy and stylish for the office and the scarves are lovely additions to your outfits. Are you going to the Ekka this year? We still haven't been as a family yet as at least one of us is usually unwell at this time of year due to the infamous Ekka winds! Haha! Hope you have fun, if you go! Have a wonderful week, Mica! :) XXX
ReplyDeleteWe managed to avoid the Ekka sickness around Ekka time so maybe next year I'll feel brave enough to try the Ekka show with the kids! I volunteered there last year but didn't this year.
DeleteThe polka dot skirt is perfect! And the way you styled it is very elegant! Great look!
ReplyDeleteYou look wonderfully cozy and cute! I've always loved your scarf collection!

I love both of your scarves! I have quite a collection of some too, but I haven't worn them in a long time, maybe it's the warmish weather that's probably stopped me from wearing them at the moment. Love your bag also, it's so pretty!

You may have been rushed, but you still look cute! I love the embroidered feather detail on the scarf.
ReplyDeleteChic on the Cheap
It's such a pretty detail! :)
DeleteThat Mulberry bag is gorgeous. The details are so pretty. I like both outfits you styled it with. The first one is very chic with that trench coat, and the second one is just as pretty and stylish. That indigo jacket looks great paired with greyish tones. That scarf is so pretty btw! You look lovely in both outfits. I know how being late in the morning can make the day feel a bit hectic, but all is well that ends well.

Spectacular bag Mica ! There is a similar Mulberry one in my consignment store for a bit over 100 USD and I've been eyeing it...
ReplyDeleteOh definitely go for it! I paid a lot more than that for this one, haha! If it's authentic it's a steal! :)
