What I wore:
Sunnies: Ray-Ban new Wayfarers (on sale)
Jacket: Jeanswest Alice longline Australian wool cardigan (Get an extra 30% off everything at Jeanswest!)Scarf: Alexander McQueen magenta skull scarf in roses print
Tee: Atmos&Here grey v-neck tee with rolled sleeves (similar in black or white)
Jeans: Sass & Bide Playman skinny jeans
Shoes: Marc by Marc Jacobs black logo plaque ballet flats
Bag: Balenciaga Day bag in 2005 magenta
Why I wore it:
Wore this for daycare drop off / pick up and to run a few errands. I was lucky to bump into my friend on her way to the library for the rhyme session. While we are still a little under the weather I have been avoiding being near other kids so we didn't go to the session, just walked the rest of the way to the library together. It was so good catching up, however briefly. The hardest thing about spending most of August sick was that I couldn't see my mum friends as I didn't want my kids making their kids sick! It's been almost a year since I last wore this scarf. I was hunting for it at the start of winter, but when I couldn't find it I figured I'd just consigned it when I sold a bunch of my scarves a while ago. It was only when I was digging around in my wardrobe for another scarf I came across this one! It had fallen off the scarf hanger I use and was laying on the floor in the corner of the wardrobe. I'm pleased I found it, and that I didn't get rid of it, as the magenta colour is such a great match for my Balenciaga day bag. Does make me realise I have too many scarves though if I can't remember what ones I still have in my wardrobe....
Last worn: Ray-Ban Wayfarer, roses print skull scarf, grey wool cardigan, grey tee, printed skinny jeans, black ballet flats, magenta Balenciaga day bag.
Other ways to wear: skull scarf and polka dots, long cardigan and a maxi skirt, grey tee for travelling, two ways to wear printed skinny jeans, black ballet flats and flared jeans, magenta Balenciaga day bag and pencil skirt.
What I wore:
Scarf: Asos crinkle oversized leopard print scarf
Top: Atmos&Here Nile wrap front jersey tee (new purchase)
Jeans: Jeanswest prima denim super skinny jeans in absolute black
Shoes: Asos Cleo leather boots in tan
Bag: Balenciaga Day bag in 2005 magenta
Why I wore it:
This is another little-worn scarf! Been over a year since this was last worn. It's amazing the things you find when you go hunting through your wardrobe. I really need to own less so that I don't randomly uncover things I've forgotten about now and then.Simple outfit for a simple day. Had to run to the post office in the morning, had a doctor's appointment to check on baby's condition (that confirmed I'd done the right thing when I skipped taking him to the library session the day before) and spent time with my mother in law in the evening. I like the combination of this leopard print scarf with the tan boots.
Last worn: Ray-Ban Wayfarer (above), black cardigan, leopard print scarf, black skinny jeans, tan boots, Balenciaga magenta day bag (above). First time I've worn the top as it is a recent purchase.
Other ways to wear: black cardigan and a printed maxi skirt, leopard print scarf and ruffled blouse, black skinny jeans and a graphic tee, tan boots and a printed dress, Balenciaga magenta day bag and wrap dresses.

the #2 is my fave!! Love the fun jeans in #1. and of course the bag!!
ReplyDeleteIt is amazing what you can discover when you get to the corners of your wardrobe floor. When we were moving I discovered stuff I thought I had passed on years ago. And I don´t have many clothes.
ReplyDeleteI hope you will all recover completely soon, being sick with children is no joke.

Thanks Anne, we are all feeling much better! :) And yes, it's amazing how easy clothes can get hidden! I definitely need to own less so I know where everything is :)
DeleteI love the pop of color that the magenta bag gives both outfits!

Love Balenciaga and this magenta bag of yours is a stand out.

It does really pop with gray, doesn't it?! Definitely a great purchase that can brighten up any bad day! :D
ReplyDeletehttp://www.closet-fashionista.com/
It does! And it's impossible to be angry looking at such a cheerful colour! :)
DeleteI like the idea of matching the scarf to the bag - and am also glad you found the scarf. There is nothing that drives me more insane than knowing I have something in the closet BUT cannot find it.
ReplyDeleteYes it's so frustrating! I honestly thought I'd gotten rid of it when I couldn't find it!
DeleteI'm laughing about the scarf find because that's something I could see happening to me too! Glad you found it :) This bag may be my favorite of yours, I just love that bright fuchsia color!
ReplyDeletehaha yes I'm glad I uncovered it in the end! And it is a pretty awesome colour!
DeleteTotally loving both of these looks on you. The magenta is beautiful. Gemma x

I completely agree with you on pairing colorful bags with muted clothes. I love the pop of colour and life bags give to an otherwise monochromatic outfit. You look lovely in both outfits!
ReplyDeleteI just started to declutter my wardrobe and sold 6 boxes of clothes! Now I have a lot of space for future purchases and I can't wait to fill it with dresses! :)

Le Stylo Rouge
It is! Such a nice bag to wear :)
DeleteThe magenta adds a little something extra I think. It's a pop of color without going crazy, especially since your pants are quite busy.
ReplyDeleteI love the black and brown neutrals with the pop of color bag and the animals print scarf, again makes your look interesting without being crazy or over the top. You are totally killing your winter fashion!
I've noticed you haven't been doing alot of "leaving my wardrobe," posts. I guess working with that stylist really did help!
Thanks Kiki! I always think I don't do layering so well, not needing to do it often in Queeensland!
DeleteYes, the time with the stylist really did help! But also I regretted donating a lot of things in the pregnancy and postpartum phase last time so I'm wary of overdoing it too much again haha!
Honestly magenta belongs to my absolutely favourite colours and therefore I'm not surprised you love your beautiful magenta Balenciaga bag so much! I like how you combined your colourful bag!

I love how both your outfits look wearing that magenta purse! I have a bag in a similar color and have worn it a few times with grey, but never with black and brown, I love it; I'll have to give it a try! Thanks so much for sharing, beauty, and I hope you're having a great week so far!

Mica, I hope you and the kids feel better by now. I have always loved your scarves, especially the magenta skull one which pairs perfectly well in that first outfit - good you didn't get rid of it. Both outfits are cute and great for a SAHM because they are comfortable, chic and yet colorful.
