What I wore:
Necklace: Starfish Project Veronica short yellow multi strand necklace
Tank: Jeanswest round neck lace detail top
Skirt: Garfunkle Australia pleated print skirt
Shoes: Marc by Marc Jacobs black logo plaque ballet flats
Bracelets: the usual plus Cora purpleheart and mother of pearl watch C/O JORD
Bag: Rebecca Minkoff Regan Satchel Tote in moon
Why I wore it:
Can't believe it's taken me so long to wear this necklace and skirt together! They are such a good combination. With the black in the print and the black top and jacket, the yellow necklace was a fun way to continue the cheerfulness of the skirt into the rest of my outfit.I picked the navy Rebecca Minkoff Regan bag to wear with this as I've worn this skirt with navy before. I figured I'd try the same colour combination but with my accessory instead of a navy top. I really liked this outfit, perfect for a day at the office.
It was a busy day though! I usually try get a quick mirror outfit pic to share on my Insta stories like here (in the bathroom at work, classy!) but I didn't get an opportunity on this day. I snapped one on the way home instead.
Last worn: boucle jacket, black tank, printed pleated a-line skirt, black ballet flats, Rebecca Minkoff Regan tote.
Other ways to wear: boucle jacket and jeans, black tank and shorts, printed pleated a-line skirt and graphic tee, black ballet flats and sheath dress, Rebecca Minkoff Regan tote and monochrome shorts outfit.
Perfect for pregnancy: boucle jacket in third trimester, black tank in second trimester, printed pleated a-line skirt in second trimester.
Rebecca Minkoff Regan Satchel Review (And What's In My Bag):
Where To Buy The Rebecca Minkoff Regan Satchel:
What I wore:
Necklace: gifted Swarovski heart pendant
Tank: Jeanswest Brianna basque hem tank
Skirt: French Connection silk leaf print skirt
Shoes: Walnut Melbourne 'Ava' black lizard ballet flats (also available in silver)
Bag: Rebecca Minkoff Regan Satchel Tote in moon
Nail Polish: OPI Russian Navy
Why I wore it:
I frequently wear this silk skirt with black, it lets the lovely autumnal colours of the leaf print stand out. I thought the cream blazer would be nice with it, with the taupe in the print, but I didn't like the combination as much as I thought I would.I did like the little blue necklace I added though! It was a gift from my lovely friend, and with the navy bag I thought I should introduce something else navy into my outfit other than my blue nail polish. Usually I'd go for a longer necklace with a plain tank like this, but I liked the shorter one with this.
This day wasn't as busy as the previous day above. It was a little bit of a stressful day with a complex problem at work that required a morning Starbucks run, but we had a big Easter afternoon tea with LOTS of hot cross buns and some chocolate to kick of the Easter long weekend so it turned into a great day. Chocolate is always a mood booster!
Last worn: cream blazer, black blouson tank, silk leaf print skirt, black ballet flats, Rebecca Minkoff Regan satchel (above).
Other ways to wear: cream blazer and printed dress, black blouson tank and shorts, silk leaf print skirt in summer, black ballet flats and jeans, Rebecca Minkoff Regan satchel and blue shift dress.
Perfect for pregnancy: cream blazer in first trimester, silk leaf print skirt in second trimester, black ballet flats in third trimester.
Printed A-Line Skirts Under $50:
How You Can Wear It:
If you're in a business casual environment, a knee length a-line skirt is a great option. You can get so many fun prints too, it's a nice way to add a little colour to your work wardrobe. You can keep things simple (and make getting dressed for work faster!) by picking a colour out of the print and wearing a coordinating top. In both these cases, there was some black in the prints, so a nice neutral black tank was a great option with both skirts.Linking up with Confident Twosday, Style Sessions, On Trend, Turning Heads, Fashion Frenzy, Style On The Daily.

Hi Mica
ReplyDeleteYou always have some great outfits for the office. You're a perfect executive, from the bag to the necklace. I really like silk skirts, in fact silk is the fabric I like the most.
The weather here is improving and today I will take the afternoon to take pictures. I hope you have a wonderful week.

I don't have much silk in my wardrobe sadly! It is a nice fabric but not so good to take care of with the kids, haha!
DeleteI love both of the looks. They look so professional, and cute.

Thanks, glad you liked the idea! :)
DeletePrinted skirts are so lovely! I do the same when I'm not quite sure about how to style a printed piece. That trick always works and the outfit ends up looking cohesive and fun. Loving the second outfit as well, the light jacket tones the printed down and looks so professional! <3

These are both lovely office outfits - the full skirts look so swooshy and fun! I like that you're using navy blue here instead of going for the expected matchy black. Nicely done!

Chocolate is so good, haha!
DeleteThe yellow necklace and printed skirt look great together :)
ReplyDeleteWhy complicate things?! I like to match my skirts like that too often. Either that or pair them with a white or black top just to keep it simple. I love the way your yellow necklace looks paired with your skirt! Those pieces were made to be worn together! I can't wait until I can wear skirts without tights! It's been a long winter!
ReplyDeleteYes it's a great way to wear printed pieces! :) I will need to wear the skirt and necklace together again soon!
DeleteYou look super classy!
