What I wore:
Sunnies: Ray-Ban new Wayfarers (on sale)
Jacket: Bubblegum denim jacket
Scarf: navy bird print scarfTee: Atmos&Here oversized stripe tee
Jeans: Emerson red skinny jeans
Shoes: Converse Chuck Taylor All Star low in white
Bracelets: the usual plus Cora purpleheart and mother of pearl watch C/O JORD
Bag: Balenciaga giant hardware Day bag in 2009 tempete
Why I wore it:
This was another one of those outfits that hit all the style prompts for the two style challenges. The prompts were 'thrifted and gifted' and 'it's for me'. Thrifted was achieved with the red jeans I scored in an opshop a while back, and gifted was this beautiful scarf my mum got me. I'm sad it will be worn less and less as the weather heats up, it's so cosy. Being jeans and a tee, it was simple and made me happy, so it met the 'it's for me' challenge too.It actually ended up being such a warm day - when we were outside at playgroup I ditched the jacket and the scarf was taken off when I wasn't using it as a breastfeeding cover up.
Last worn: Ray-Ban Wayfarer, denim jacket, striped tee, bird print scarf, skinny jeans, Converse, Balenciaga tempete day bag.
Other ways to wear: denim jacket and a maxi dress, striped tee and a baby bump, bird print scarf and winter layers, skinny jeans and printed cami, Converse and a maxi skirt, Balenciaga tempete day bag and shorts.

Jeans: Jeanswest blackberry super skinny jeans
Shoes: Marc by Marc Jacobs silver tuxedo flats (on sale!)
Bracelets: the usual plus Cora purpleheart and mother of pearl watch C/O JORD
Bag: Balenciaga giant hardware Day bag in 2009 tempete
Why I wore it:
I found these purple jeans at last! I mentioned a while back that our partial packing up of things in preparation for moving house (that fell through) has made it difficult trying to find where all the non-maternity pieces in my wardrobe ended up. These jeans have been missing for such a long time, I last wore them a year ago. I'm pleased I've found them now. I like purple and blue together so wanted to try wearing the jeans with the navy tee, and I liked the combination.I hadn't been sure what would meet the style challenges of 'tried something new' and 'tie one on', when I saw this twilly from my bestie. I've worn twillies in my hair before, but never tied one into a bow like this. I'm not sure this is an everyday look for me, it kept annoying me as I couldn't wear my sunnies on my head like I usually do! But it was fun to try something new, one of the reasons I participate in style challenges.
Ran a few errands in the morning and had my family over in the afternoon, a nice simple jeans and tee outfit was perfect for that.
Last worn: Coach twilly, grey cardigan, navy marle tee, purple skinny jeans, silver ballet flats, Balenciaga tempete day bag (above).
Other ways to wear: Coach twilly on a bag, grey cardigan and chambray, navy marle tee and a maxi skirt, purple skinny jeans and black tank, silver ballet flats and a pencil skirt, Balenciaga tempete day bag in the office.

To be honest I don't own any bottoms that are a different color from blue or maybe black, seeing your outfits makes me regret that a little.

ReplyDeleteI LOVE your colored jeans, girlie, they're such great ways to switch up a look from the typical blue denim! I've yet to find a pair of red ones that I love and that fit well, I'm still on the hunt! I love the way the navy and purple denim look paired together, they're really a lovely combination! I think it's cool that you participate in these challenges to step outside the box and try new things! Thanks so much for sharing, beauty, and I hope you have a great start to your week!

ReplyDeleteThey are a nice change from blue jeans! :)
DeleteLoving those red skinnies...such a fun pop of color!
ReplyDeleteI have a red skinny which I bought years ago but I think I've only worn it 3-4 times! I love how it looks on me but whenever I wear it, I feel so self conscious as it's fire engine bright red. I'm sure it's just me being paranoid and I really need to have the confidence to wear it.
ReplyDeleteShireen | Reflection of Sanity
I'm sure you look great in them! Definitely try wear them again :)

I wish I would be able to pull of colours as you do. I don't think I've worn any jeans brighter than dark berry. That red looks so vibrant, I love the way you styled it. Also I really like the blackberry jeans, it is a pretty colour. I hope you're enjoying the warmer days :) Have a great week!

Thank you Ela! I'm sure you'd look great in bright jeans! I'm trying to be more adventurous with colour :)
DeleteOoh purple jeans! I used to looove colored jeans and got a pair of purple ones too, but then I moved and didn't really wear them as much. (tbh I don't know where they are now exactly haha.) I love the way you worked the colored jeans though, it's not a trend I see often.

DeleteLOVE your purple pants of course, and your bow! (I'd never heard the term "twilly" before!) I am so not a red person, but I love your red pants too! They're so bright and fun! I might need to look into a style challenge... That sounds like a fun, creative way to pick out outfits! Since I'm not currently documenting my outfits for my blog, I'm super meh/lazy about getting dressed in the morning and am back to wearing the same few things all the time! :-/
ReplyDeleteYou would love a style challenge! :) I wonder if twilly is an aussie term as my friend says it too...
Deleteoh wow look at those bright jeans! I think they are perfect for the season in Australia too right? It's been raining over and over in BKK, Thailand :(

DeleteOh I had not seen Cooper in a while !
ReplyDeleteNow that you mention how your twillie got in the way of your sunnies, I've come to realise that my sunglasses have turned into a head accessory, like a permanent headband!

ReplyDeleteI'm sorry a house you were interested fell through, I have a grand story coming next week and I'm sharing a lot of woes that caused my month long absence from the blog world. I am now "back" and intend to be blogging normally for the rest of the year, I just really needed the time off. Similar house woes happened to us and we were just soooooo tired in August and that gave me the courage to just be real. Keep fighting for what you want and you WILL get it! <3
ReplyDeleteI'm so glad you got your house in the end - it was quite a journey for you! Our perfect place still hasn't shown up, we will keep looking! :)
