What I wore:
Sunnies: Ray-Ban new Wayfarers
Jacket: Jeanswest Nadine 3/4 sleeve dusky pink blazerNecklace: Ruby Olive Softies Ava elephant pendant teething necklace
Top: MEV Britney bubble tank in mood indigo C/O Zibibo
Jeans: Jeanswest Super Skinny Jeans in Mid Indigo
Shoes: Marc by Marc Jacobs silver tuxedo flats (on sale!)
Bracelets: the usual plus Cora purpleheart and mother of pearl watch C/O JORD
Bag: Balenciaga giant hardware Day bag in 2009 tempete
Why I wore it:
I loved this outfit! The style challenge was 'my favourite colour' which is of course blue. I really like blue and pink together so this blazer seemed like a great topper, despite the warm day I needed just a little something extra to cover my arms.Took the boys out to brunch with a friend which we had been looking forward to for a while. We've caught up now and then but a dedicated morning to talk over a couple of changes and events was needed. Bringing both boys along led to us cutting our date short when it drew near to nap time and not even yummy food would keep them amused. I'm lucky my friend saw the funny side of the situation, unlike the older ladies sitting a few tables down from us who kept glaring at me as I tried a couple things to calm an overly cranky baby in his ergo carrier while also convincing a toddler that it was time to hop back into the stroller and go home, ha!
Despite feeling a bit flustered towards the end I was grateful to get out and have some adult conversation for a while. The teething necklace bought us a few more minutes of quiet which was appreciated too!
Last worn: Ray-Ban Wayfarer, blush pink blazer, navy breastfeeding tank, skinny jeans, silver ballet flats, Balenciaga tempete day bag.
Other ways to wear: blush pink blazer and a LBD, navy breastfeeding tank and purple accessories, skinny jeans and tall boots, silver ballet flats and a maxi skirt, Balenciaga tempete day bag and a printed dress.

What I wore:
Scarf: Alexander McQueen modal skull scarf in white/pink (on sale in black and white!)
Tee: Atmos&Here navy stripe v-neck tee
Jeans: Sass and Bide pale grey skinny jeans
Shoes: Marc by Marc Jacobs two tone flats in blush and black
Bracelets: the usual plus Cora purpleheart and mother of pearl watch C/O JORD
Bag: Balenciaga giant hardware Day bag in 2009 tempete
Why I wore it:
Unlike the outfit above, I'm really not sure about this one. I didn't feel great wearing it. This outfit got more love than the one above on instagram though so maybe I got something right!I was trying to hit two style challenges again, 'pinktastic' and 'make it casual'. I also wanted to try these grey jeans with the blush blazer. I like all of the pieces on their own, I just don't feel it looked all that great together.
I was in a rush in the morning (as usual!) and trying to get the boys out the door for an appointment. I was thinking of what to wear in between getting them ready. When I saw the photos, the first time I'd seen it all together, I wasn't happy. Definitely an outfit fail. I think if I'd spent the time to pick a different bag I'd have liked this outfit more. Maybe something grey instead of my tempete Balenciaga day. I did consider it but really had no time. Even the pretty blazer couldn't make this better. A good reminder to myself to take longer planning my outfits in the evening when I have more time, so I'm more confident with what I've picked to wear.
Last worn: boyfriend blazer (above), pink skull scarf, navy striped tee, grey jeans, two tone ballet flats, Balenciaga day bag (above).
Other ways to wear: boyfriend blazer in the office, pink skull scarf and a striped dress, navy striped tee and purple cardi, grey jeans and a trench, two tone ballet flats and a wrap dress, Balenciaga day bag and a maxi dress.

Your casual outfits are always so chic:) <3 I actually love both outfits! I think in the second one, the scarf goes really well with the blazer:)
ReplyDeleteAnd ugh....I hate those people who seem to think that little children should be seen and not heard. I mean...really....kids misbehave ALL the freakin time and it doesn't even matter what we do as parents!
haha yeah it's impossible to have them be perfect angels all the time - especially when it gets close to naptime, ha!
DeleteBeautiful looks, so stylish! Thank you for sharing :)

ummmmm, I hate the judgey people who glare when our kids are out of whack. Makes me want to throw things at them. Loving the rose quartz, by the way!
ReplyDeleteIt's the most unhelpful thing people could do! Just designed to make you uncomfortable, which kids pick up on and act out more!
DeleteYou look simply stunning! :)

Love how you styled these! I think it's something that comes with the territory when having children... there will always be people who give you weird looks or want to give you advice with your little ones. With my first it really bothered me but when my second came along I was LONG over it. I think I learned how to give myself grace so it didn't really affect me anymore. Also, children will be children regardless of your parenting skills. lol Hope you have a beautiful day!
ReplyDeleteManda | http://ASparkingStickyStyle.com
Very true - kids will be kids! It was the first time I'd attempted a grown up event by myself with both kids so it could have gone better..but I know what not to do next time!
DeleteSoo cute. Love that elephant necklace. Elephants are my favorite! <3
ReplyDeleteEnclothed Cognition
It's such a cute teething necklace :)
DeleteYay for adult time! Teething necklace to the rescue! haha
ReplyDeleteI see your reserve with the second outfit. I REALLY like it! However the overall vibe from it is really light and airy. I feel like had there been more balance of a darker tone, you would have felt a little better? Perhaps if the pant had even been a hair darker? Still stunning!
Yes I think darker jeans would have worked well too!
DeleteI like both of these. We're just getting into blazer season here, woohoo!
ReplyDeleteIt's funny how sometimes we hate how an outfit looks but others love it, hehe :D

ReplyDeleteVery pretty pink blazer, glad you're getting to wear more of it now.
ReplyDeleteI like both looks and regarding the "judgers" - they'll always be around..
That's true! I just wish they'd not be around when you're struggling, haha!
DeleteI have a similar jacket that I haven't wear for a while. I'm definitely bring it back thanks to you!

I actually really like the second outfit! That blush blazer is so fun--I love blush pink and find myself wearing it a ton. How irritating that you were getting glares from a cranky old lady--people are so rude.
ReplyDeletePeople can be so rude! It's not like it was a fancy, quiet place or that I wasn't doing anything to calm the boys, but hey at least I could stop looking in their direction to avoid the glares ;)
DeleteThe pink blazer is adorable, but my favourite look is the second one. I can't wait to wear more jackets and blazers, finally autumn has begun! Lovely pairing with the style challenge. Good job! x/Madison
ReplyDeleteFASHION TALES
I feel for you trying to calm down a baby, I'm usually the one who gets annoyed that someone has a baby yelling and screaming, but I do appreciate how tough it must be, so I feel for you there. That blazer is gorgeous though. We haven't been having a heatwave, it's been pretty cold, but your blazer is so nice! It reminds me of mine!
ReplyDeleteRaindrops of Sapphire
Oh yes it can be annoying when they start up and keep crying for a long time, haha! As soon as I realised I couldn't calm them we were packing up to leave though - wouldn't have been more than a minute or two. I was trying to be considerate :)
DeleteBlue and pink is such a pretty combo! I need a pink blazer in my wardrobe for that touch of colour. :)

that blazer is wonderful, it looks great paired with that navy blue top and that necklace with a big elephant pedant is absolutely amazing. Such a sweet casual styling. So cool you wore it to catch up with a friend, that can be a challenge, finding time to meet with friends but it is always worth it.
ReplyDeleteThe second outfit is also very chic, I don't see why you think that all of these items don't look that great together. To me they look perfect, but I always like a bit of subtle print mixing ( like with that scarf and striped tee).

ReplyDeleteCute bag! Looks so great with denim.
ReplyDeleteI just bought myself a new bag yesterday. The Sash and Belle Perry Tote which is by far the best business bag come baby bag come "I just need something to compartmentalise all my shit" bag I've ever come across. The best thing about Sash and Belle is they are an Aussie label created by an Aussie mum. So cool!
Yes I've collaborated with them in the past, it's a great band :) Enjoy your new bag!
DeleteYou look great in both instances. I particularly love the teething necklace!
ReplyDeleteBlue and blush is so pretty together! The first look is my favorite!
