Leather Jackets and Maxi Skirts

Just like in Monday's post, I took advantage of the cooler temperatures to wear another winter piece, my leather jackets, before it's too far into spring to enjoy them! Wearing both of my black leather jackets with some comfortable maxi skirts, and Chloe bags.

Earrings: Prouds gold and silver spiral drop earrings
Necklace: personalised gold children's names charm necklace
TeeAtmos&Here rolled sleeve oversized tee in wine
Skirt: thrifted Crossroads black ruffle hem maxi skirt
Shoesthrifted Adidas Superstar sneakers
BagChloe Marcie medium shoulder bag in nut

Why I wore it:

Wore this for Father's day and I absolutely loved this outfit! Not too impressed with the photos, this slouchy tee always looks so rumpled in the pics, but it is super soft and the deep purple/burgundy shade was nice with the black leather jacket and the black maxi skirt. I thought pairing the black leather jacket with the black skirt would bring out the print on the jacket a little more, but it's still as subtle as ever!

This was the perfect outfit for a bit of an overcast day. Luckily our plans for the day weren't derailed by the rain - I took hubby and the kids to Australia's biggest retro arcade for Father's Day. It was a surprise for the kids too as I knew if I'd told them where we were going they would have been too excited to not tell their Dad! 😂 All the machines were free play, so we just had to pay an entry fee and then unlimited games. We ended up spending so much time there, definitely good value for money!

Took my Chloe Marcie bag so I could have some snacks for the kids and our water bottles, it's such a big bag for that.

Last worn: printed leather jacket, spiral earrings, burgundy tee, gold charm necklace, black maxi skirt, Chloe Marcie shoulder bag, Adidas Superstar sneakers.

Skirt: thrifted pinstripe maxi skirt
ShoesConverse Chuck Taylor All Star low in black

Why I wore it:

This day was a bit colder and a lot less fun than the weekend at the arcade above! Wore a plain black leather jacket this time, with the grey pinstripe maxi skirt that I felt hadn't been worn in a while and was due another wear. I like pink and grey together so this pink tee was an obvious choice, although I did cover most of it up with the blue Alexander McQueen scarf! I thought the scarf was a nice compliment with the periwinkle Chloe Paraty bag though, even if the shades don't match exactly.

After the school drop off I had an appointment in the morning, working from home, then picking the kids up and taking them to an appointment for my son in the afternoon. Busy day!

How You Can Wear It:

Maxi skirts are great for cooler days as they keep your legs covered up. They are so easy to layer too, with leggings underneath on really cold winter days, and a leather jacket and maybe even a scarf on top to stay cosy.

Waterfall Cardigans, Tanks and Dark Jeans With Chloe Bags | Weekday Wear Link Up

Spring officially arrived on the 1st September in Brisbane, but we still had a couple of cooler days at the start of September which gave me another chance to wear these cosy waterfall cardigans again, with some darker denim jeans and Chloe bags.

What I wore:

Necklace: Kmart blue multi-colour beaded necklace
TankAsos satin singlet in pink
JeansNobody Denim Cult high rise skinny ankle jeans in charred grey
ShoesNew Balance Coast women's running shoe in black
BagChloe periwinkle small Paraty

Why I wore it:

Wore this for a very relaxed day! It was a pupil free day, so a morning free from the school run! I planned to work from home and take the kids to the library afterwards - this jeans and tank outfit was perfect, the cosy navy waterfall cardigan is so comfortable and kept me warm. My mum and sister looked after the kids when I worked and treated us to lunch which was nice, as well as taking the boys out for a few adventures.

I felt this satin pink tank was overdue another wear and I really do like it with navy! Added even more blue with the wooden bead necklace and periwinkle Chloe Paraty bag.

These charcoal Nobody Denim jeans go with everything of course, and I picked the New Balance sneakers for their support while driving around.

Last worn: navy waterfall cardigan, blue tri colour wooden necklace, pink satin tank, Nobody Denim jeans, New Balance sneakers, Chloe periwinkle small Paraty.

Other ways to wearnavy waterfall cardigan and shorts, pink satin tank and pencil skirt, Nobody Denim jeans and blazer, Chloe periwinkle small Paraty and maxi dress.

Chloe Handbag Collection: Past and Present

Necklace: Lovisa gold filigree heart pendant
Top: Sass and Bide "For Easy Reference" tank
Jeans: thrifted Jeanswest faded black cropped butt lifter jeans
Shoesthrifted Adidas Superstar sneakers
BagChloe Marcie medium shoulder bag in nut

Why I wore it:

This is exactly the same cardigan as the one above, just in red, because I couldn't decide between the two colours when I bought them a few years back. I am glad I have both in my wardrobe, even though this red one hasn't been worn as much as the navy one above, that I've hit 30 wears with. I do love wearing this red cardigan with neutrals though to let it really shine! The brown printed tank was a great pairing with it, and the faded black jeans, a $1 opshop find, go with everything.

Again I went with sneakers, my comfortable Adidas Superstar ones, for the school run, helping in my son's classroom and a few errands after school. We had to go buy a few little special snacks for the upcoming playdate we had on the weekend.

Although the rose gold necklace is a different tone from the gold hardware on the Chloe Marcie bag, I thought the two accessories worked well together, and I really liked the filigree heart with the brown print on the tank.

How You Can Wear It:

A cosy block colour cardigan is the perfect layer for those in-between seasons. A neutral like navy lets you pair it with brighter outfits, or you can go bolder with a red knit and stick to neutral shades with the rest of your outfit like I have in these two outfits.
