What I wore:
Scarf: navy bird print scarf
Tee: Atmos&Here rolled sleeve oversize tee in black (also in grey)
Skirt: Target black and white striped maxi skirt
Shoes: Converse Chuck Taylor All Star low in black
Bag: Rebecca Minkoff striped coated canvas mini MAC in berry stripe
Why I wore it:
Had such a fun day when I wore this! Toddler T's auntie got him a trip to Currumbin Wildlife Sanctuary for his birthday, although we had to postpone it due to the weather. When we finally managed to lock in another date for it he was getting really excited!I knew I'd be doing a lot of walking and babywearing, so wanted something comfortable. The bird print scarf was a great cover up while feeding and also helped make me feel a little more stylish for photos. We took a lot of photos as you get the chance to get close to so many different animals. Toddler T's excitement with feeding kangaroos was the most adorable thing. We were lucky enough to get to hold a snake and crocodile too, although the lorikeet that admired my scarf and landed on my head didn't stick around long enough for him to get too close. It was a really fun day out and he loves talking about it and all the animals he interacted with.
Last worn: wool cardigan, bird print scarf, black tee, striped maxi skirt, Converse, Rebecca Minkoff striped mini MAC.
Other ways to wear: long cardigan and skinny jeans, bird print scarf and skinny jeans, black tee and flares, striped maxi skirt and burgundy tee, Converse and denim shorts, Rebecca Minkoff striped mini MAC and a printed dress.
What I wore:
Jumper: blue Mossman knit jumper
Skirt: Target grey marle maxi skirt
Shoes: Converse Chuck Taylor All Star low in black
Bag: Rebecca Minkoff striped coated canvas mini MAC in berry stripe
Why I wore it:
Unlike the outfit above which felt comfortable and practical, this outfit just annoyed me. Wore it to spend the day with my mum and take toddler T to his swim lessons in the morning. Despite the leather jacket and scarf I was pretty cold as the cropped blue jumper kept riding up and I only had a bikini top on underneath in preparation for swimming. Even adding a breastfeeding singlet underneath after the swim lesson I kept needing to tug it down. It's not the first time I've found cropped lengths previously perfect for my petite frame seem to be uncomfortably short now with my still larger than usual chest. I briefly considered donating this jumper back to the opshop I picked it up from, but I think I would regret it when things go back to their pre-pregnancy size.
Last worn: leather jacket, printed scarf, blue knit jumper, grey maxi skirt, Converse (above), striped mini MAC (above).
Other ways to wear: leather jacket and a little red dress, printed scarf with stripes, jumper and a maxi dress, maxi skirt and graphic tee, Converse and flares, striped mini MAC and navy dress.

The day out at the Wildlife Sanctuary sounds lovely! I've always wanted to see some kangaroos up close :)
ReplyDeleteVelvet Blush
IT was lovely! Toddler T loved meeting the kangaroos! :)
DeleteNice bag..

Omg I have that exact scarf! Love it! And this looks like a fun day out!

They are both great scarves!
DeleteSeemed you had a nice day out! Your stiped maxi skirt looks great on you + the lovely bag. Nice puppy in the background ;)

Stripes are always my go-to pattern too, I love how they mix so well with other prints. I hate it when I'm tugging and pulling at my clothes all day, that drives me crazy! That post-baby/nursing time can be more frustrating than pregnancy when it comes to getting dressed I think!
ReplyDeleteI think it can, although there are so many changes during pregnancy too! It can all be a challenging time for sure.
DeleteThe visit to the Wildlife Sanctuary sounds like it was great fun for both you and Toddler T. I don't think I'd be brave enough to hold a snake or a crocodile though ;p Glad you enjoyed it!
ReplyDeleteI was surprised he was so happy to - he was fearless, it was nice to see! :)
DeleteYou look so nice and cozy! I love the first skirt, very pretty x
ReplyDeleteFlorals&Smiles
that bag adds such a cute little touch to the outfit!

I'm such a fan of the star scarf and black striped maxi. You look lovely, and I'm sure you have great photos from T's birthday excursion! <3 /Madison
ReplyDeleteFASHION TALES
Yes, so many great photos and lots of happy memories! :)
DeleteThe changes in the post-pregnancy body are pretty annoying. Whenever I look in the mirror and think: Yes, that could fit again, I am surprised by how much my body has altered it´s shape...

It does change so much! I had to get my mum to help me out of a dress I got stuck in just the other day, ha! Overestimated the stretch factor!
DeleteI love the stripes and stars in the first outfit! So cute! And that sounds like a wonderfully fun outing for you guys. For the 2nd outfit, hmmm...I would toss the cropped top - you should have things in your wardrobe that fit you NOW (and besides, I know you love to shop - you'll find another better one later!). :)
ReplyDeleteThat is very true Sheila! I like the way you think! :)
DeleteLove these looks! Congratulations on babe too! X
ReplyDeleteFeeding the lorikeets was my daughters favourite activity on our QLD holiday when she was younger. She absolutely loved that place!
ReplyDeleteI love your top outfit especially the scarf and striped maxi.
It is a great place to visit! It's a shame none stuck around for us to feed them but the ones that landed on us out of the blue really entertained toddler T! :)
DeleteHello, Mica! Your scarves look so pretty as always :) Your bag looks so cute too!! Hope I could wear a maxi skirt too! <3
ReplyDeleteBtw, if you have some spare time. I hope you could check out @gorgeousglance on Instagram! I will be uploading some new items, thanks! <3 Hope to hear from you soon!! :)

I haven't worn scarf for months, it is one of the things I actually miss about autumn/winter :) I love the bird scarf, it is pretty! How long would did it take to get back to the pre-pregnancy shape at the first pregnancy?
ReplyDeleteEla BellaWorld
I don't recall - I definitely got larger in the chest area over this pregnancy so that's made getting dressed very different - didn't have that issue last time around!
DeleteI'm so into stripes right now so I love that Target maxi skirt! I love your little photo bomber - he loves getting in on the action, doesn't he?!
ReplyDeleteHe does, the cutest fluffy accessory! :)
DeleteBoth outfits look really lovely and comfortable! :) Sounds like you had a really fun day at the wildlife place, feeding the lorikeets is always super awesome - they're so playful and active! x x

Using a large scarf for style and breast feeding purpose is a smart idea. Back when I was breast feeling, I always took with me the breast feeding cover, never thought of using large scarf which would make more sense fashion wise and convenience.
ReplyDeleteDon't give away the jumper, I'm sure you'll love it again after the baby!
Shireen | Reflection of Sanity
Yes a scarf is much more economical - less things to buy, haha! Plus it's winter so I always have a scarf with me anyway :)
DeleteWearing annoying clothes is the worst! Also as a tall person I totally sympathise with having to tug things down all the time. Sigh. I really like your stripy bag and I LOVE your bird scarf! So pretty!
ReplyDeletehaha yes! Now I know what it would feel like to be tall! :)
DeleteSounds fun!!!!!! :) Also, i luuuv your rebecca minkoff!
ReplyDeletewww.kynagem.com
Like a lot of people, stripes are my go-to pattern as well! I find them easy (ish) to match, which is perfect for me. I'm surprised to hear the second outfit was annoying though, it looks the opposite, but hopefully next time you'll find something you like better :)
ReplyDeleteSam | http://mybeautycloud.com
Yes pictures don't always tell the whole story! It's only clothes though and like you said I can try again another day :)
DeleteLuking fab....dat scarf is so chic...xo, Neha

Sounds like you had an awesome time with the animals! Can't believe one landed on your head, haha. Love the combination of prints, stripes are so cool :)
ReplyDeleteWe got so lucky - especially as we had the camera handy! :)
DeleteI love both looks heaps! The second one is nice and looks more casual! Shame it wasn't very comfortable to wear!! Lovely photos! <3

Sounds like you had an amazing time at the wildlife sanctuary! It must have been fun feeding the kangaroos!

Yes toddler T had the best time with the kangaroos! :)
DeleteLove the striped maxi skirt! So Perfect for exploring! Sounds like you guys had a great time at the Wildlife Sanctuary!

How cute is that striped Mac? A pity the Lorikeet was too quick to take a picture of him but it sounds like a great daytrip.
ReplyDeleteChristina ♥ https://caliope-couture.com
We did get a couple of pictures - like that one of him on my head, haha! But he didn't get too close to toddler T which was a shame for him.
DeleteThe striped MAC is so pretty! I haven't seen this one before actually, I love it! It goes so nicely with your outfits!
ReplyDeleteRaindrops of Sapphire
I don't wear it nearly enough!
DeleteLove as usual the looks you created! And yes, to mix pattern is also for me especially easy with stripes. I have to admit I'm in general a huge fan of stripes and of your Mini MAC bag, too!

Love the mixed prints, Like you, I almost add a stripe in the mix.
ReplyDeleteI like both outfits very much but understand how annoying the second one would be! Great style

The wildlife sanctuary sounds like fun! Love your stripes :)
ReplyDeleteLOVE that striped mini MAC! It goes great with your outfit! Ugh, shirts that ride up are so annoying. Once a piece of clothing starts annoying me, it's usually headed for the consignment shop, haha!
ReplyDeleteYes I might give this a wear once things settle down post-baby before I decide but it's definitely getting ready to add to the donate pile at the moment, haha!
DeleteI always feel like slipping on a comfy maxi dress when I see you wearing one. I can’t wait to buy a heap for when the weather gets warmer! Love the ones you’re wearing.
ReplyDeleteTFM BLOG
I do love my maxi skirts and dresses! :)
DeleteI wanted to visit the sanctuary when we went to Queensland but ran out of time - hopefully we get another opportunity! Stripes is definitely a go-to with pattern mixing. I did a clean-out over the weekend and I have so many striped items, I kind of have no choice! Must take a pic!
ReplyDeleteOh your daughter would have loved it, hope you can make it next time :) And yes please do share the stripey fun! :)
DeleteLove both the outfits! They look stylish & comfortable. The bag is so cute <3

Love this outfit! This is so my kind of style - I share your love for maxi skirts and dresses :)

Mica, you kill me with these animals. Holding a snake & alligator! You get major brownie points from me! I bet that was fun feeding the kangaroos. I like both outfits! You know how to mix prints. I hate when an outfit looks good, but doesn't function the same. HaHaHa Well at least you looked good :D
ReplyDeletehttp://www.averysweetblog.com/
It's really special being able to be up so close with them! And toddler T was fearless, haha!
DeleteSo.... I REALLY want to feed a kangaroo! lol I think that excites me even more than a child. (; When ever I take a dab at print mixing, I too stick with stripes as one of my prints. Really, it's the easiest of the bunch. I almost consider stripes a "neutral" anymore.
ReplyDeleteI hope you get to! Maybe come over here for a honeymoon?! haha!
DeleteYou got to feed kangaroos?! That's so awesome!
ReplyDeletehttp://www.iamchiconthecheap.com/
It is really cool! Toddler T adored them, it was so fun for him :)
DeleteThank you all for your kind comments :)
