Neutral and Colourful Maxi Skirt Outfits for Spring

I enjoyed the monochrome maxi skirt outfits I wore a short time ago so much that I wore the skirts similarly again! I liked these outfits just as much as the original ones. While it's summer here in Australia, I wore these in Spring in November.

What I wore:

Sunglasses: Ray-Ban new Wayfarers

Necklace: Nibbly Bits Abacus teething necklace in pop
Tee: Atmos&Here rolled sleeve oversize tee in black (also in grey)
Skirt: Target grey marle maxi skirt
Shoes: Rebecca Minkoff Georgina studded gladiator sandals in blush (on sale!)
Bag: Rebecca Minkoff mini MAB tote in plum (on sale in pink!)

Why I wore it:

A simple maxi skirt and tee outfit was all that was needed for a quiet day. A little bit of shopping in the morning and a doctor's appointment in the afternoon.

Although I've had both this tee and skirt for about 2 years I was surprised to look through the blog and see this is the first time I've worn them together! It was a nice easy outfit with a little bit of colour with the necklace and purple mini MAB tote bag.


Last worn: Ray-Ban Wayfarers, black tee, grey jersey maxi skirt, studded gladiator sandals, Rebecca Minkoff mini MAB tote bag.

Other ways to wear: black tee and leopard print, grey jersey maxi skirt and teal henley, studded gladiator sandals and shorts, Rebecca Minkoff mini MAB tote bag and leopard print scarf.

Why I wore it:

This more colourful outfit was worn for a busier day. We had playgroup in the morning and then another specialist appointment for baby boy in the city in the afternoon. Thankfully my mum helped me with that last part, as although he'd run around at playgroup all morning it's still a big ask to have a toddler sit quietly in a doctor's office.

Blue being my favourite colour, of course I really liked the colour of this outfit. Not too sure about the length of the top with the skirt though. The front panel style means I can't really tuck it in a little (like I'd usually do with a long top) and still breastfeed in it. I did think the proportions were a little off, so I probably wouldn't wear these two pieces together again.

Navy Stripe Maxi Skirts and Purple Mini MAB Tote Bag

I love maxi skirts year round and while I wear them in winter, they definitely get worn the most over the warmer months. I've got quite a collection of maxi skirts now, the majority of them are striped! I like the easy go-to outfit of a tee and a maxi skirt. Perfect for breastfeeding too.

What I wore:

Necklace: Nibbly Bits Abacus teething necklace in pop

Tee: Spectrum basic v-neck tee in washed lilac
Skirt: Target navy side split maxi skirt
Shoes: slim gold Havaianas
Bag: Rebecca Minkoff mini MAB tote in plum (on sale in pink!)

Why I wore it:

Navy and purple are so nice together. It's a combination I've worn a lot. When I got this skirt I knew right away I would wear it with this purple tee. Added the purple bag for a little more colour. Even though the purple shades don't match I really like the way it looks with the outfit. I was so happy with this, colourful and comfortable and perfect for our "viewing session" to review all of the photographs taken at the photoshoot I won a while back. There were so many great photos it was hard to narrow it down to what we wanted to buy!

Why I wore it:

This was another style challenge outfit. The theme was 'matchy matchy' so I went with the navy tee to match the navy stripes in my maxi skirt. Again I wore the purple mini MAB tote bag as purple is so nice with navy! I wore this tee with purple last time I wore it too.

Just wanted something simple and easy for baby boy's weekly weigh appointment, this was perfect.

OneTeaspoon Hawks Denim Shorts in Spring: Two Ways to Wear

I picked up my first pair of OneTeaspoon shorts in a collaboration with Glue Store. They are a high-waist style that I wouldn't normally go for, but they are surprisingly comfortable on my mum-tum and I'm glad I gave the different style a try. In a classic black, they will be sure to be worn more over summer. I've shared two different ways to wear them below.

What I wore:

Why I wore it:

Although it was spring when I wore this a couple weeks ago, this day was the hottest day of the season in Brisbane with summer-like temperatures. I wanted to wear as little as possible. Short shorts and a flowy cami was just what was needed when we did venture out of the air conditioning to grab groceries before the afternoon storm hit. The rain in the background was just a small shower before the big storm and the hail rolled in.

It's funny looking back and seeing that the last time I wore this cami I was using it to hide my early second trimester baby bump!

Why I wore it:

This was another style challenge inspired outfit. The style challenge for #RuleBreakersClub was the 'forbidden pair' of double denim. As much as I love denim, double denim isn't a look I wear often. When I do attempt it, I like the denim shades to be as different as possible, so black shorts and a blue jacket work nicely.

Picked the red tee as it felt like a while since I last wore it. This was what I wore for another Christmas shopping trip. I feel like that's going to be the main activity I do in the run up to Christmas. I usually like to be more organised than I am at this stage!
