Here's what I wore to baby T's dedication service and celebration:
Sunnies: Rayban new Wayfarers
Necklace: vintage gold chain
Dress: Jeanswest 'Rita' stripe jersey dress
Belt: Asos metal keeper skinny waist belt in bright blue
Shoes: Balenciaga studded sandals in sorbet RGGH
Bracelets: the usual plus silver charm bracelet
We had a dedication service for baby T, and then a big celebration afterwards. It was so nice being surrounded by friends and family for such a special occasion. Baby T loved all of the attention too! He did so well, despite not napping that morning! He was quiet as a mouse during the service and full of smiles afterwards for everyone.
I'd picked my outfit well in advance, but forgot to get a cute clutch to wear in the morning in the rush to get ready and make sure everyone was there on time. I was constantly running between baby T and the baby bag though, so it made sense all my things were in there too.
A dedication is similar to a christening, in that the baby wears a traditional gown. Baby T's gown came from my side of the family, and was over 37 years old! Although hubby's family had an even older gown, it unfortunately had deteriorated too much to be used, so we used the one from my family. After the service, we changed baby into something more suitable for the hot day. He wore a very cute and tiny little navy pinstripe shorts suit, so of course hubby and I had to wear stripes too.
After the busy morning, we headed out for a birthday celebration later in the day, and I just wore the same outfit.
Last worn: Ray-Ban wayfarer, striped dress, blue belt, Balenciaga sandals.
Here's what I wore to go out for lunch:
Sunglasses: Cotton On 'Kirsten sunnie' in yellow
Dress: Asos red leopard print dress with dipped hem
Belt: Asos skinny pale yellow belt
Shoes: Marc by Marc Jacobs suede flats in red
Bracelets: the usual plus Hermes Kelly double tour bracelet in rubis
A bit more colourful than the previous outfit, with this bright red leopard print dress.
Wore this to pop out to the new Garden City for lunch with hubby and baby T. Wasn't sure if the red shoes were too much, so added a yellow belt and sunnies for some more colour and to make the outfit a little less red. I didn't have a bag of my own, just carried the baby bag.
Every now and then I'll look at this dress hanging up and wonder if I should keep it, as it really is quite a statement piece that doesn't get worn frequently. But every time I wear it I'm reminded how nice it is to wear, so it's staying in my wardrobe.
Last worn: yellow sunnies, red leopard print dress, yellow belt, suede flats.
My November Purchases
Just like the previous months, I'm sharing what I buy each month. I aim to wear everything I buy twice within a month of wearing it, to reflect on how well the purchase works in my wardrobe. Hopefully being more active with removing things from my wardrobe and being more considerate with my purchasing will help me reduce how many clothes I own! You can read more about my goals and why I'm doing this here.
Only two purchases in November! Both impulse buys.
Jeanswest 'Chelsea' printed dress (already worn twice in November, see my purchase review)
Jeanswest 'Scarlette' printed shorts (not yet posted on the blog, as I'm behind with outfits)
