What I wore:
Sunnies: Ray-Ban new Wayfarers
Top: Target embroidered khaki tankSkirt: Target black and white striped maxi skirt
Shoes: black slim Havaianas thongs
Bracelets: the usual plus Cora purpleheart and mother of pearl watch C/O JORD
Bag: Rebecca Minkoff metallic silver mini MAC (on sale in pink!)
Why I wore it:
I liked doing the #TRMStyle instagram style challenge in September so jumped on board with the October one too! The challenge for the day was 'green' so I thought this khaki tank was perfect. I did think about wearing another, more true green top, but I find this one easier to breastfeed in. (I have something on under it so I can lift it up to feed without flashing my belly). The decorative tassels are ideal for keeping baby boy amused too so he can tug on them instead of my hair and I don't need to wear a teething necklace! The plan was to spend the day at a mother's group meeting however toddler T's cough was getting bad and baby boy was starting to cough too so I figured sitting in a room with other mums and bubs wasn't the best idea. Instead we tried to quickly pop out for some more nappies. Took a little longer than expected so it's probably a good thing we weren't heading to the meeting as well and had more time.
Last worn: Ray-Ban Wayfarer, khaki embroidered tank, striped maxi skirt, Havaianas, Rebecca Minkoff metallic mini MAC.
Other ways to wear: khaki embroidered tank and flared jeans, striped maxi skirt and winter layers, Rebecca Minkoff metallic mini MAC and a denim jacket.

What I wore:
Sunnies: Ray-Ban new Wayfarers
Necklace: Nibbly Bits Wilma teething necklace in pale daffodilTop: thrifted Dotti blue tee
Skirt: AT by Atmos&Here Mars striped maxi skirt
Shoes: black slim Havaianas thongs
Bracelets: the usual plus Cora purpleheart and mother of pearl watch C/O JORD
Bag: Rebecca Minkoff metallic silver mini MAC (on sale in red!)
Why I wore it:
The style challenge for the day was 'nailed it'. I was looking forward to finding time to paint my nails and use the challenge as an excuse to do so, but quickly changed my expectations for the day that morning. Toddler T was fully recovered, but I was losing my voice and baby boy was also sick...and teething. Getting the boys and I fed, dressed and out the door was 'nailing it' for the circumstances! Although too sick for playgroup and getting up close with other mums and bubs again, we went out to let toddler T run around a little and burn off some of his extra energy.I picked this top to wear as it's been a while since I last wore it! Last time I was wearing it to take advantage of the blouson style to hide an early baby bump in the office. I really wasn't happy wearing it this time, I felt it sat oddly over my chest. Given that it had taken me so long to get around to wearing it and I was unhappy when I wore it, I'd usually say it should leave my wardrobe. However I do like wearing when I am not squeezing my breastfeeding chest into it, so I'm going to hold onto it a little longer and see how I feel next time it's worn.
Last worn: Ray-Ban Wayfarers (above), blouson tee, navy stripe maxi skirt, Havaianas (above), Rebecca Minkoff metallic mini MAC (above).
Other ways to wear: blouson tee and skinny jeans, navy stripe maxi skirt with green and a baby bump, Rebecca Minkoff metallic mini MAC worn as a clutch.

I love both looks with the maxi skirts! that necklace is such a fun pop of colour and shape! :)
ReplyDeleteMetallic Paws
Too bad you had to miss the meeting because your babies were coughing, but it was probably a good idea, because being in a room with lots of mom and babies while your kids might be coming down with a cold in not the best idea- kids catch viruses so quickly....anyhow, I love your outfit! That top with tassels is very cute. Plus, I really like that striped maxi skirt.
ReplyDeleteYou nailed the second outfit for sure...love that maxi as well...and that necklace is such a lovely pop of colour.
Yes things spread so quickly between kids, haha! :) Thankfully the boys weren't unwell long! :)
DeleteSuch gorgeous outfits as always, you definitely nailed the second one, hun! It looks super comfortable has such a lovely, marine feel to it. :) Totally in love with that first top as well, I can see how it would be a lot of fun for your little toddler! :D Thanks for sharing, and I hope you're having a beautiful week so far. x

I really like the bright colour contrast against the maxi skirt...looking lovely!
ReplyDeleteYou look so lovely! Both of your maxi skirts are adorable.

That tank is gorgeous! You wore it classy with the skirt. I underestimate Target's clothing section. That khaki tank I'd pass up and end up buying a $10 thermal like usual. Shifting my trend might help me discover new looks. Loving that watch. Purple and mother of pearl are two favorite shades (colors?) of mine. Also love the color mix of that MAC bag. MAC had a limited edition Hello Kitty collection years back. Inspiring outfit!
ReplyDeleteI stumbled across this tank on the sale rack, it was a happy accident! :) Always worth checking it out when you're there :)
DeleteThese are lovely looks Mica. I tend to adore maxi dresses year round since they can be layered and styled in many ways. Love these challenges, and the nailed it one as well. The second look is my favourite. Have a great rest of the week. <3/Madison

I'm also sorry it was not possible for your to go to the meeting ... but I'm impressed how you nevertheless managed to take part of the style challenge! Like both of the looks you share here - they are so full of life, I like this!

Thanks :) There's always other dates to catch up! :)
DeleteGood for you for not spreading the cough, and I love your interpretations of the themes (especially "nailed it", which definitely can mean different things for different lifestyles!). You rock a maxi skirt - love seeing your spring outfits, while we deal with RAIN up here on Canada's west (I mean "wet") coast!
ReplyDeleteIt's funny how our seasons are so opposite! :) I like how you can interpet style challenges different ways too, you can be more creative if you like :)
DeleteI love both looks. The tassle top is so cute and I adore the blue one. You also accessorized beautifully. Pray you are having a wonderful week

Man, those boys can't catch a break can they! They will be super healthy adults at least. lol Let's face it, being siblings, they are going to get each other sick for the rest of their lives. (;
ReplyDeleteHoping they get better soon!
Oh I know, with two of them they just catch so many more bugs! It was a tough winter, hoping that we have a healthier spring/summer!
DeleteI love me some maxi skirts year round too :) I love how you styled yours here. Both looks are so comfy but the maxi skirts makes them look more dressed up. I hope you and the boys are feeling better!
ReplyDeleteMili | Sharmtoaster
Thank you Mili! Luckily we weren't sick for long!
DeleteSo you don't wear our grey tees. I will be on the look out for those.
ReplyDeleteI hope the boys get better.
Thanks :) They got over it pretty quickly which was good! :)
DeleteYes I have so many grey tees and wear them so rarely, it's shocking! I need to own less!
Hope you and your baby boy are much better by now and plus teething, ugh, that can be quite the nightmare. At least you didn't go to the baby group because your little ones are not well, I couldn't understand parents who insist on taking their sick kids to baby group. Leave the germs at home please!
ReplyDeleteShireen | Reflection of Sanity
haha yes it's hard when they are most contagious before they show symptoms usually, but when they are coughing it's best to stay away :)
DeleteYou run such a busy life with your family dear and still look gorgeous in these outfits! I really love how blue looks on you, but that khaki tank top is also great!! I hope you and your baby recover soon, dear. <3

Oh I hope your boys and yourself are feeling better. And smart of you to change your plans. My friends with young children hate nothing more than parents who bring their sick kids around to play, almost everyone gets sick immediatly. Which is why it gets worse when they go to school!

I love the way you've styled your striped maxi skirts, you look so beautiful, especially in that cobalt blue top, such a gorgeous color on you! I hope you and the baby feel better soon, there's definitely something going around, I had a cold for a full week, which never happens! You look beautiful in spite of not feeling well, you can't even tell! Thanks so much for sharing and again, feel better!

Hope you got over your cold! It was a tough winter with lots of illnesses here!
DeleteMica, I need a silver bag in my collection! LOL I thought I had one, but remember my mom took it and never gave it back. HAHAHA It always looks so good with black and blue shades. Love your metallic one. Teething always causes little one's to be temperamental. The stages they go through :D You look beautiful in both photos.

haha I can see why your mum kept it - it's a great go-to! :)
DeleteYes teething is tough, but it doesn't last forever :)
Considering how trendy silver is currently I am in love with your bag. I love how you styled the stripped maxi skirt in both looks, you look so dashing Mica!
