Most of the time when I group similar outfits together to post on the blog I've worn them a few days apart. In this case I ended up loving the combination of blue top, maxi skirt and denim jacket so much one day that I wore it again the very next day too.
What I wore:
Sunnies: Ray-Ban new Wayfarers (on sale)
Jacket: Bubblegum denim jacketNecklace: Nibbly Bits Abacus teething necklace in pop
Tank: MEV Britney bubble tank in mood indigo C/O Zibibo
Skirt: Target grey marle maxi skirt
Shoes: black slim Havaianas thongs
Bracelets: the usual plus Cora purpleheart and mother of pearl watch C/O JORD
Bag: Rebecca Minkoff metallic silver mini MAC (on sale in pink!)
Why I wore it:
The style challenge for the day was 'hair affair' which left me free to pick whatever I wanted to wear for a coffee date in the city with a friend. Went with a maxi skirt as I feel I've been wearing my jeans a lot lately! This tank is perfect for a morning of babywearing as it's so easy to breastfeed baby boy in his carrier when wearing it. Wore this colourful teething necklace too as I think it works nicely against blue. Just like last time I went out for a meal, I found the teething necklace helpful to keep baby boy amused for a little while as we sat and chatted.
Last worn: Ray-Ban Wayfarer, denim jacket, breastfeeding tank, grey maxi skirt, Havaianas, Rebecca Minkoff metallic mini MAC.
Other ways to wear: denim jacket and double denim, breastfeeding tank and skinny jeans, grey maxi skirt worn postpartum, Rebecca Minkoff metallic mini MAC and maternity shorts.
More maxi skirts under $50:
What I wore:
Sunnies: Ray-Ban new Wayfarers (on sale)
Jacket: Bubblegum denim jacketNecklace: Nibbly Bits Abacus teething necklace in pop
Top: Atmos & Here Arlene wrap top in navy (similar that ships internationally)
Skirt: AT by Atmos&Here Mars striped maxi skirt
Shoes: black slim Havaianas thongs
Bag: Rebecca Minkoff metallic silver mini MAC (on sale in red!)
Why I wore it:
The style challenge was 'mood booster'! I've spoken before about wearing bright accessories to boost my mood. Wearing my favourite colour (blue!) is another thing I use to boost my mood. I liked the outfit above so much I wanted to wear a navy top with that teething necklace again, and another maxi skirt. Although not a nursing piece, this wrap top is perfect for breastfeeding. Cheaper than buying a top marketed as a nursing top too ;) Example: $65 nursing wrap top, $38 'regular' wrap top.Had a quiet morning, taking baby boy for another weekly weigh and then spent the day with my mum. She kindly babysat so I could use one of my Christmas massage vouchers, it was wonderfully relaxing and much needed!
This outfit was so similar to the one I wore the day before, but I really didn't mind as I enjoyed wearing them both so much.
Last worn: denim jacket (above), Ray-Ban Wayfarer (above), wrap top, striped maxi skirt, Havaianas (above), Rebecca Minkoff metallic mini MAC bag (above).
Other ways to wear: denim jacket and printed dress, wrap top in the third trimester, striped maxi skirt and graphic tee, Rebecca Minkoff metallic mini MAC bag and chambray.

Both are so cute!! Can't beat a maxi skirt, ever! Love the necklace too. Thanks for the comments on my post the other day. I truly appreciate it!
ReplyDeleteThis first outfit you wore for a coffee date is very much to my liking. I always love to see maxi skirts worn in a casual way and you do it splendidly...that necklace is a lovely accessory and the bag is simply adorable.
ReplyDeleteI like the second outfit even more because....the stripes naturally! I'm crazy about stripes and that maxi with stripes is absolutely dreamy. Lovely silver bracelets, love how they match the bags<3. You look fantastic!
I you want to read something from Fitzgerald and you don't have time to commit to a novel I would recommend one of his short stories, you can find them online, project Gutenberg and those kind of sites. He was very good with short stories.
Thanks for the recommendation! And yes I love maxi skirts, striped maxi skirts are the best!
DeleteLove the maxi skirts with the denim jacket!!!

Both looks are great! I really like how this necklace pops and you look so cute with that hair bow in the first outfit

hehe, it's just my Wayfarers on my head! :)
DeleteI wear my outfits on repeat a lot. As long as no one spits up on them, that is. I just have only a small selection and haven't gotten back into the habit of planning my outfits the day before, so I just grab what is already there.

Oh yes the spit up ruins many good outfits, haha!
DeleteI've been looking at teething necklaces - nice to see one in action!
ReplyDeleteI find them really helpful!
DeleteI happen to quite like your teething necklaces as accessories. I think they are super cute and lovely!
ReplyDeleteThey are great accessories! :)
DeleteLoving the pop of metallic from your purse in these looks!
ReplyDeleteI should also break out my denim jacket again before it gets too chilly, haha!

Yes the are great in the in-between seasons, not so much in winter!
DeleteCute! Love yours little bracelets too! I need a denim jacket like that!

I love wearing colors on rainy, gloomy days, as well as when I'm just not in a good mood for no apparent reason, haha. It really does help to boost my mood and I tend to feel a lot more confident, too! I love both your outfits, that striped maxi skirt is so cute and I love that wrap top! That's awesome that you were able to enjoy a nice message, you deserve it, you're such a great mom! Thanks so much for sharing, beauty, and I hope you have a great weekend ahead!

Thanks Jalisa! It was a lovely treat! :)
DeleteThe outfits are strikingly similar but it's interesting how different they feel just because you switched out the tops and skirts. That striped skirt adds a wonderful graphic touch.
ReplyDeleteYes easy to make it look a little different by changing the pieces involved :)
DeleteThey are similar but not identical, I love how you mention that you enjoyed wearing both looks, this is something we should all aim for.
ReplyDeleteYes I definitely want to feel this good about all my outfits! :)
DeleteIt looks like you've already lost your pregnancy weight, I don't know what you're doing but you should share with us. I just keep putting weight on :) I really like the second outfit. Denim jacket looks good with maxi skirt, I really like the combination.
ReplyDeleteHave a great weekend :)

haha photos don't always show the full story ;)
DeleteI'm not doing anything different - walking the dog, breastfeeding and running around after the boys!
I love the one with the striped skirt! both are pretty but I have a thing for stripes!

I love both outfits and you make maxi skirt looks really good even though you're petite. I do like the stripe maxi skirt a tiny wee bit more but then again, I love everything stripes.
ReplyDeleteShireen | Reflection of Sanity
I love a small bag. It's all I use on holidays. I actually still have my small bag inside my business bag so I can grab it out to run into the shops.
ReplyDeleteSmall bags are great for quick trips out! :)
DeleteYou wear maxiskirts well. I am 5'4 and tend to drown in all the fabric! I like the stripey one. Maybe I should find myself a stripey knee-high one.
ReplyDeleteI'm only 5'2! :) Neither of these needed altered for them to be perfect on me :)
DeleteI love jean jackets! Also, I meant to mention in a previous comment that I love the idea of not spending any money for a whole month on clothes. I may have to join you one time. :)

I love the denim jacket + maxi combo--I'm a denim jacket addict :) That teething necklace is so fun too. That's something I didn't ever have when Jona was a baby but maybe I should try this time around!
ReplyDeleteI can't imagine being without them - perfect toy to keep baby amused! :D
DeleteYou are the Queen of the Maxi Skirt! I love that teething necklace, it's looks so stylish as well as being so functional.
ReplyDeleteNice outfits. I have a tad preference for the second look, but you look great in both. :)
ReplyDeleteHave a lovely weekend.

ReplyDeleteLove the outfit, that necklace is so unique and stunning xxx
ReplyDeleteDenim jackets are so versatile and lovely to wear all year round! :) I like how you styled both outfits, like you said they're similar but both are really gorgeous, that silver handbag goes so well with them, it looks so stylish! Thank you for sharing. <3

This is a great casual chic outfit! it took me SO LONG to wear my nicer clothing again and I didn't do it when breastfeeding either. Maxi skirts are always great, especially the striped one!
ReplyDeleteIt can be tricking finding the right things to breastfeed in!
DeleteBoth totally cute outfits (I am on the look out for more denim jacket inspo!) and your hair seems to have grown so quickly!!
ReplyDeleteI credit continuing with the pregnancy multivitamins for that! :)
DeleteThat denim jacket is like the perfect denim jacket, I'm looking for one like that one :) Loved your Mood Booster look, blue is such a nice color and it looks gorgeous on you. The metallic bag was also a great addition.

I've said it before and I'll say it again.... whatever works! If an outfit makes you feel amazing, that is all that matters. Especially when outfit planning with two little boys. You are far better dressed than some busy mamas! I'm a broken record, but I miss style challenges. haha. Half of my clothing is still packed in boxes. (;
ReplyDeleteHopefully you can be unpacked soon! :)
DeleteAnd yes, who cares how often you repeat a combination or outfit, as long as you feel great in it! :)
Oh my, I've just done a post on maxi skirts and denim. I didn't know about yours - I wasn't copying but great minds and all that! I love denim with maxis- it's just a perfect combination. And your necklace with them is stunning!
ReplyDeletehttp://petitesilvervixen.blogspot.co.uk/
Oh I'm not surprised you'd post about it too - like you said it's a perfect combination :)
DeleteYou are a pro at styling maxi skirts (and I still remember your tip on my blog about wearing a maxi dress I got with cardigans which I did <3 ) I love both looks, especially the striped skirt. The wrap top and necklace are so chic. Happy Tuesday. XOXO, Elif
ReplyDeleteGlad I could give you some outfit inspiration! :)
DeleteAre breastfeeding related things treated the same way as wedding related things? Eg triple the price and hope nobody notices? I think it's a pretty top either which way! I got myself a nice denim jacket this spring, similar to yours. I loved it and then I lost it. This is why I'm not allowed nice things.
ReplyDeleteAww no such a shame you lost your jacket! :(
DeleteYes breastfeeding tops are so expensive! DOn't know why when the wrap tops are identical!
These are both great mum outfits, relaxed and put-together and with the perfect topper - a denim jacket. No wonder blue is your favorite color since it brings out your eyes Mica. And that colorful teething necklace is perfectly put to interest a baby. I am glad you enjoyed a day with your friend and spent some time with your mum, too.
ReplyDeleteHow months is the young one now?
Ada. =)
Thanks Ada! Baby boy's 7 months now :) Time flies!
DeleteMica, that jean jacket looks great with both of your outfits! I've always loved that teething necklace! It looks just like a regular necklace. No one would ever know! It looks great with your outfit as well. You rock maxi skirts! :D
ReplyDeletehttp://www.averysweetblog.com/
It would be great to still wear when baby's all grown up!
DeleteYour teething necklace is so cute, and such a brilliant idea - jewelry you actually don't mind you baby tugging on and putting in his mouth!
ReplyDeletehttp://iamchiconthecheap.com
Yes! Baby boy is at the "everything goes in the mouth" stage so the necklace is perfect!
