Striped Tees and Shorts To Stay At Home - Weekday Wear Link Up

Usually in April I'd be wishing for the autumn weather to finally arrive, but I'm not complaining that the temps are still in the 30s (86 F) as it means I can dress super simply at home, in just shorts and a tee. The boys are enjoying being able to play in our back yard during our isolation so much too!

What I wore:

thrifted navy stripe Coca-Cola logo tee with black denim shorts stay at home mum isolation style | awayfromblue

Tee: thrifted navy stripe Coca-Cola logo tee
Shorts: Jeanswest Sara distressed hot short
Shoesslim navy and pink Havaianas

Why I wore it:

Simple shorts and tee outfit for a hot day! I had a zoom call with some Insta ladies in the morning that was fun, before I had to quickly sign off when a tradie arrived at the house. We had a driveway visit from people with gifts for the boys as well. It was so funny, me asking them if the boys could come out the house (to stand 1.5 meters apart of course!) and them asking us if we were okay with that! We are all figuring out social distancing still.

It had been a bit of a stressful week with working at home and looking after the kids, so I was really looking forward to this day where I didn't have to work and could just teach the kids and relax and play together. Hubby went and did the grocery run too so I didn't have to deal with that stress!

Last worn: coca cola logo tee, black denim shorts, Havaianas.

Other ways to wearcoca cola logo tee worn two ways, black denim shorts and kimono.

The Bag I Would Be Wearing If I Wasn't At Home:

If I wasn't at home all day I think I'd be wearing this cute little Rebecca Minkoff micro Avery bag with these outfits! I miss wearing my handbag collection, but aside from the two bags I was using when the new social distancing / stay at home rules came into effect I've left my bags untouched in their cupboard. I don't see the point in getting them out just to snap a pic and put them back away!

What I wore:

Atmos&Here navy stripe v-neck tee with long necklace and distressed denim shorts | away from blue

awayfromblue Instagram | work from home outfit stripe navy tee with distressed denim shorts
Necklace: Happiness Boutique turquoise and coral pendant necklace (C/O)
TeeAtmos&Here navy stripe v-neck tee
Shorts: thrifted Jeanswest distressed denim shorts
Shoesslim navy and pink Havaianas

Why I wore it:

Wore this to work from home. I've mentioned before that I've stopped wearing necklaces outside - I like to play with them when I'm wearing them and frequently touch them - not a good idea when I'm out grocery shopping and touching all the things and then transferring that to my necklaces! But for a day at home I figured I could accessorise a little. Both the boys and I like playing with this necklace!

My mother in law came over for a visit - despite the "stay at home unless essential visits" rules and my in laws being in the at risk category. I did try protest. We are following all the advice and staying home, as are all of my side of the family, except those who are the real heroes, the essential workers.

Kept it simple with the striped tee and denim shorts - easy and comfortable and a bit more appropriate for having someone over than the pyjamas I wore to work from home the day before 😂

Last worn: navy stripe tee, stone pendant necklace, distressed denim shorts, Havaianas (above).

Other ways to wearnavy stripe tee and olive shorts, distressed denim shorts and kimono.

Perfect for pregnancynavy stripe tee in third trimester.

Striped Tees Under $50:

How You Can Wear It:

Shorts and a tee is a staple outfit for anyone on a warm day! It is such a simple stay at home outfit too. A striped or printed tee adds a little more interest to this classic outfit combo.

  3. Mica, your Coca Cola tee shirt takes me way back to childhood! They were so popular in the 80’s. I love it! Such a cute outfit. And how great that you had driveway visitors! We have to find creative ways to stay connected, for sure. I am still having the same problem with linking up as well.

  5. Yes, this social distancing thing is hard. To look for a silver lining, I think that after this isolation situation we will start to appreciate each other company more. The little things in life like hugging a friend- I'm starting to really miss them.

You look lovely in your striped tees and shorts combo. It has started to get warmer here. This week we will have another period of cold and cool weather but I think after that, it will get really hot really fast. Have a nice week!

  14. It's interesting how we are all trying to figure out what social distancing means to each other and what people are comfortable with. I feel like going into week 4.5 of this people around here seem to have it figured out for the most part. Although, it's getting tiresome to be honest. How old are your children? It's difficult working from home and helping them with online school, although I feel like having toddlers at a time like this would be much more difficult. Love that red bag. One day soon, I hope you get to take it out for a stroll through the city.

  18. What a great little striped tee! I definitely need to get a striped logo tee. And that little red bag is such a pretty one - it'd look perfect with the Coca Cola shirt. I'd never really thought about wearing jewelry and then touching it when out it public after handling everything else. There are so many things to remember not to do (or to do) ... I wonder how this will affect us after the restrictions are lifted? I see others are having the same problem I had with photos when trying to link. I think what I had to do was to downsize the photo and copy it from my Blog folder rather than from the website. I'm not sure which one of those two things helped. At any rate, I didn't have any new posts to put into the linkup so I just did the last fashion one. Hopefully this week I'll have another. Thanks for doing the linkups! I hope you had a beautiful Easter and that you have a safe and healthy week. I think I'm going to take another day off work this week....I'm loving those!

  28. We have 2 meters for distancing here, and absolutely no one visiting inside the house. We've been able to see a few people by meeting at a neutral place, and I'm planning on bussing out to see my mom tomorrow - she's been so lonely for the past 6 weeks. I can't go in her home, though - I'll be viewing from her yard.

I'm happy to see you in your casual outfits! Glad you're still getting hot weather. I was saying to someone, "Imagine if this had hit in September/October or later...cancelling Hallowe'en, Thanksgiving, Christmas, New Year's." We are lucky to be getting it now.
