What I wore:
Jacket: Jeanswest Dana drape knit cardi in boysenberry
Tank: Sass and Bide "For Easy Reference" tankJeans: Sass and Bide 'Three Words' metallic gold jeans
Shoes: Asos leather Chelsea boots in tan
Bag: Rebecca Minkoff mini MAC in aquamarine with python embossed leather
Why I wore it:
The style challenge for the day was 'sparkle and sass' and I felt these Sass and Bide metallic jeans met the prompt perfectly. I was just doing a little shopping with the boys, picking up a few things for toddler T's upcoming birthday. These jeans seem dressier than my normal denim so they aren't worn as often, it was good to have an excuse to wear them even if I did feel a little overdressed for chasing toddler T around Big W! At least baby boy was on his best behaviour and napped quietly in his stroller...Last worn: purple cardi, printed tank, metallic gold jeans, Chelsea ankle boots, Rebecca Minkoff aqua mini MAC.
Other ways to wear: purple cardi and chambray dress, printed tank and a maxi skirt, metallic gold jeans and a band tee, Chelsea ankle boots and a striped dress, Rebecca Minkoff aqua mini MAC and denim shorts.
More purple cardigans under $50:
What I wore:
Jacket: Jeanswest Peggie kimono cardigan in purple mulberry marle
Scarf: Marc by Marc Jacobs mauve square scarf
Top: Atmos & Here Arlene wrap top in navy
Jeans: Jeanswest Super Skinny Jeans in Mid Indigo
Shoes: Marc by Marc Jacobs silver tuxedo flats (on sale!)
Bag: Rebecca Minkoff mini MAC in aquamarine with python embossed leather
Why I wore it:
The style challenge for this day was 'denim diva' which meant another excuse to wear my jeans. With the blue wrap top and skinny jeans together, I thought the purple scarf and cardi were nice accessories. I loved the colour combination of this outfit, but this cardigan is a bit thin and the playgroup we went to was really cold, I wished I'd worn a different layer. This wrap top, while great for breastfeeding, is thin and short-sleeved so I was chilly most of the morning. A bit of an outfit fail. Not because I didn't like any part of my outfit, but because it needed to be warmer! As it's the second time I've worn this scarf and I'm reviewing everything I buy after wearing it twice to see if I'm making smart purchases, my purchase review:
I really like this scarf. I know I have too many scarves but I've been wanting to add some more plain ones to my collection. While this has a print, it's subtle enough that it isn't the main focus and makes it really wearable. I'm pleased I bought this.
Last worn: purple cocoon cardi, purple scarf, blue wrap top, skinny jeans, silver Marc Jacobs flats, Rebecca Minkoff aqua mini MAC(above).
Other ways to wear: purple cocoon cardi and a maxi dress, purple scarf with black and grey, blue wrap top and a baby bump, skinny jeans and a printed shirt, silver Marc Jacobs flats and a wrap dress, Rebecca Minkoff aqua mini MAC and floral kimono.

Love the different purples and how you've tied them in with the teal bag. I LOVED purple and teal as a colour combo in the 90s - I even had a Charlotte Hornets basketball tee for that sole reason! (Oversized, naturally)
ReplyDeleteI don't remember wearing it much when I was younger but I'm loving it now! :)
Deletei love that Sass & Bide tank. I never seem to have any luck finding pieces from them that work for me these days...

Yeah this is an old one, haven't bought any of their new stuff for a while...
DeleteI should probably take part in a challenge as well, to get out of my jeans and t-shirt rut.

I really liked how the blue and purple came together in that last look. I really like it when I see colors that would usually not be paired together work so well.
ReplyDeleteOh and of course the addition of the pastel bag: genius.
Thanks! I love blue and purple together :)
DeleteThe color of your bag is so pretty and vibrant! What a fun way to add a brilliant pop of color to any outfit! It must be great to have more of your regular wardrobe options again.
ReplyDeleteIt is nice getting back to my regular wardrobe :)

I miss style challenges, and I agree, it's an excellent way to "shop your stash" and rediscover lost pieces. I plan on tackling another come August. My last summer hoorah challenge. haha. Looking back, I should have done one for June, but oh well. (; I think August will be another no buy for me as well.
ReplyDeleteGood luck with your no-buy! I liked this challenge as it was a short one, not sure I'm up to a full month one yet!
DeleteLove the different purples and the pop of blue!

I'm loving the colors in both of these looks!! Purple is one of my favorite colors, but for some reason I don't have a lot of it in my closet--I need to change that I think!
ReplyDeleteI'm slowly adding more purple - I have a lot of purple accessories!
DeleteI absolutely adore the way that mint colored bag looks with the other colors in both outfits, they all look so perfect paired together! You look beautiful as always, girlie! Thanks so much for sharing and I hope you have a wonderful week ahead!

Again I like what you wore and how good you decided for the jeans in the first outfit - as you mentioned you don't wear these pants too often. You matched the colours very successful and the looks are suiting you so well <3

I need to start wearing my scarves more. I've been seeing so many fashion bloggers looking absolutely chic with a scarf but I'm so hopeless trying to get it to look right on me.
ReplyDeleteShireen | Reflection of Sanity
I tend to loop most of mine the same way, haha! Definitely need them to stay cosy in winter :)
DeleteI really like both outfits. The metallic jeans are so much fun! And I love scarves, too. The purple one is great. Scarves are so great and can really transform an outfit, so you really can't have to many, right?!!! ;-)

I hate when I underdress for weather. I usually do this when it's warmer and wear something thicker or with a longer sleeve. And it's always something I can't really rectify more than rolling sleeves up too! Lately I've been embracing scarves more. I actually really, really love them but I find them annoying to wear!

Love both outfits! I actually prefer to be overdressed than undressed because...well, I guess I like the attention? Haha! No, seriously, I think what we wear is a representation of who we are and being overdressed means we show respect to other people who will see us by being presentable. :)
