Maxi Skirt Outfits! My Favourite Non-Denim Option.

I have really been enjoying wearing my maxi skirts lately. I think the mid-pregnancy purchase of the two stretchy Target skirts I'm wearing below was one of my best pregnancy purchases. They have done so well for maternity wear and post-baby too.

I've always liked maxi skirts, but have definitely started to favour them over jeans now. I have more denim than maxi skirts, but for some reason I can never stop thinking of ways to wear the few maxi skirts I do have, while I find myself getting bored with jeans.

Here's what I wore to catch up with some ladies in my mother's group:
Alexander McQueen Skull Scarf, Pink tank, Stripe Maxi Skirt new mum outfit
ScarfAlexander McQueen modal skull scarf in white/pink
DressJeanswest 'Jenni' basic singlet in festival fuchsia
SkirtTarget black and white striped maxi skirt
Shoesblack slim Havaianas thongs
BagMarc by Marc Jacobs pretty nylon Eliz-A-Baby bag

A quickly put together outfit that I really liked! As per usual, we were in a bit of a rush to get out the door for a little catch-up with some of the mums and bubs from our mother's group. I hurriedly put on something comfortable and cool, as the weather is certainly heating up here.

When I'd threw the tank and skirt together in the morning I'd thought it needed something else, and as I didn't have time to try on a few necklaces, I just picked a trusty scarf! The neon pink in the scarf and the berry pink of the singlet actually worked rather nicely together I think. I wasn't sure at first but didn't have time to change, something I grew to like the longer I had it on.

I wore this outfit combination a lot during pregnancy, the tank and maxi skirt are just both such comfortable pieces. The stretchy tank does emphasise a baby belly, and it kinda draws attention to the post-baby belly bulge too, so I haven't worn it too much post-baby. Going to have that little left-over belly for a while though, so may as well embrace it :)

Last worn: Alexander McQueen skull scarf, pink singlet, striped maxi skirt,  Havaianas, Marc by Marc Jacobs baby bag.

Here's what I wore to spend time and home and go out for lunch:
Atmos&Here stripe oversize tee grey marle maxi skirt casual SAHM outfit
TeeAtmos&Here oversized stripe tee
SkirtTarget grey marle maxi skirt
Shoesblack slim Havaianas thongs

Another maxi skirt outfit. And stripes again! I still get a kick out of seeing that one of the previous times I wore this tee, I was posting about baby being overdue...the very next day, baby made his arrival into the world!

This outfit is really similar to the first one, just a striped top instead of a striped skirt. I find that the loose tee shirt hides the post-baby belly better than a tight stretchy tank though, so it's a good option if you're feeling self-conscious about the leftover bump.

Wore this to spend most of the day at home, and to take baby T out for lunch with his grandparents. Didn't dress this up with any accessories as I was inside mostly. A good stay at home mum outfit, but something I still felt comfortable enough going out in public in. This is never going to be one of those editorial, immaculately planned and executed outfit blogs, just what I actually wear every day, and I'm happy with that. I'm glad you're happy to be reading along too! Always happy for suggestions and feedback.

Last worn: striped tee, grey marle maxi skirt, Havaianas (above).

Spring Dresses Again! With Ankle Boots and Converse Chucks

More spring dresses! I am going to be very lost when baby T gets mobile and I need something more suitable than dresses to run around in, they are getting a work out this season.

Here's what I wore to go to my mother's group:
SunglassesRayban new Wayfarers
NecklaceHouse of Harlow Dynamic necklace in gold
Dress: Jeanswest 'Chelsea' printed dress (new purchase, on sale!)
ShoesAcne pistol boots in "skin"

This dress is the first piece I've purchased for myself in November, after managing not to buy myself anything in October. Despite being my first clothing purchase in a while, it's not a well-thought out wardrobe need, it's a "I stopped by a Jeanswest sale and it was in my size" kinda purchase. I know I don't need any more dresses....but I still love it regardless! It's sure to get a lot of wear. It was on sale and there was the extra friends and family 40% off on top of the sale price, great score. It's still on sale online, just not with the extra discount.

For the first outing, I wore it with the ankle boots to go to my mother's group. The dress is a nice length so that it's easy to sit around and play with baby T and the other babies during tummy time without having too be too careful how I sit! The only thing I wish I'd changed about this outfit was my hair - it is just calling out for some nice beachy waves, but I was running behind already and had no time to do anything other than tie my hair back and hope for the best.

Last worn: Ray-ban Wayfarers, Acne Pistol boots. First time I've worn the dress as it's a new purchase.

Here's what I wore to go out to the doctors:
DressAtmos&Here 'California' drop waist tee dress
ShoesConverse Chuck Taylor All Star low in black

Another Converse and dress outfit! I like the simplicity of that combination when I'm going to be baby wearing. Wasn't going anywhere special, just a short trip to the doctors with baby T.

The last time I wore this dress I wore it with the same Converse too, just with other accessories. Kept it a little more simple and pared back this time around. It was quite warm so I didn't add a scarf to accessorise, as it can get kinda toasty on a hot day with a baby strapped to you.

I did regret not having a scarf when a freshly-fed baby T decided that the walk to the doctor was too bouncy, and as a result spit up some milk on my shoulder as we sat in the waiting room! Thank goodness for baby wipes, they are the number one must-haves for life with baby. I hear that they remain an essential even as baby grows into a big kid too ;)

Last worn: drop-waist striped dress, Converse.
