Printed Top, Pencil Skirt, Mulberry Bayswater | Jeanswest Dress, Marc by Marc Jacobs Fran Bag

Here's what I wore to work on Tuesday:

Sunglasses: Rayban new Wayfarers

Top: Cotton On Salta peasant top in Berlin print
Skirt: Jeanswest black ponte pencil skirt
Shoes: Marc by Marc Jacobs logo plaque flats in camel
Bracelets: the usual plus beaded black and gold bracelet set
Bag: Mulberry Bayswater in Oak NVT leather


A great benefit of this skirt is that it has elasticated side panels, you can see them better the last time I wore it. Makes it quite comfortable to wear, and perfect for a day of meetings with a loose printed top. Had to carry my Bayswater as I had to tote some papers around again, so I thought the print on the top tied in with the black and tan theme quite well.

Had to do a presentation today in front of some fairly important people, so I was really nervous. Went with this simple printed dress so I'd feel as comfortable and relaxed as possible. I think the presentation went well in the end, got a good response.

Was surprised when I looked back in the blog and realised I hadn't paired this bag and dress together before, seems like such an obvious combo as I like to wear this dress with brown a lot.


I've been wearing my Rayban sunglasses a lot lately after hubby kindly got them for me for Christmas. It's great to start off the new year with a new pair of sunnies and as I have a lot of cute pairs that are similar to the Wayfarer style it was an obvious choice. New year, new look and a new pair of glasses!

I think it's good to have a mix of sunglasses, especially for the summer sun in Australia. Vision Direct have even created a sunglasses lookbook to help you find the perfect glasses for you. I've owned some designer sunglasses in the past, but my current Wayfarer obsession puts me in the "girl next door" style category. Simple maxi dress for the weekend. Although I've worn this bag and dress together before, repeated the combo again on Sunday as I had to cart some paperwork around. The neverfull is a great bag for that!

This dress highlights the bump a little. I'm really glad I don't have to hide it now that I've spilled the beans! :) We wanted to keep the secret to ourselves for a while, and to have the joy of surprising our families on Christmas day. It was a really wonderful Christmas! Telling all of our friends and family was so exciting, and we were so pleased to share our happiness with them. I also thought it best to tell my boss before I posted anything online about it.

While I've told my boss and the relevant managers know for planning reasons, I haven't shared the news with everyone else at work yet, for a handful of reasons that I won't go into. As a result, I'm minimising the bump as much as possible in my office wear, despite how pleased and happy I am to see it progress! My latest Asos sale purchases were maternity work wear like today's pencil skirt, to help with appropriate office dressing.

I'm also throwing a waterfall cardi on top while I'm in the office, instead of my usual straight line cardi. I think the drape makes a difference. When I did quietly share the news with one of my friends in the office, she confessed that she had noticed one afternoon and just thought I'd gained a little weight, so hopefully everyone who notices anything is thinking that and I can keep things under wraps for a little longer. ;)

For the immediate future, the blog will be a mix of minimising the bump for the office, and dressing as I please on the weekends. Baby will be mentioned from time to time, as it is at the point where the bump influences what I can wear, but I don't intend to turn this blog into anything other than a daily outfit blog.
