Maxi Dresses and Rebecca Minkoff Bags ~ Third Trimester Style

Don't forget to enter my book giveaway, it ends Friday!

I've mentioned before that my maxi dresses are wonderful in pregnancy for feeling a little dressed up while still being comfortable. We had a couple of evenings out planned one weekend, so maxi dresses were my go-to option! They work just as well in the third trimester as they did in the second trimester.

What I wore:

AwayFromBlue | Jeanswest black halterneck maxi dress third trimester dinner outfit

AwayFromTheBlue | Rebecca Minkoff Love cross body bag in grey silver bracelet stack
Necklace: Eye Candy LA 'Sasha' statement necklace
Dress: black Jeanswest halterneck maxi dress
ShoesWittner 'Jasmarie' studded sandals
Bracelets: the usual plus silver charm bracelet
BagRebecca Minkoff Love cross body bag in grey (on sale in sapphire!)

Why I wore it:

I loved this combination of the plain black maxi dress with the colourful statement necklace! Even if the maxi dress is getting much shorter now with the third trimester bump puling it up. Wore this out to a birthday dinner.

I regretted the sandals a little - they are pretty but with the pregnancy feet swelling and it having been such a hot day they were getting tight near the end of the night! Other than that it was a great outfit for a lovely dinner with wonderful people, and toddler T behaved himself so well in the fanciest restaurant he's ever been in.

Last worn: black maxi dressstudded sandals, Rebecca Minkoff Love bag.

Other ways to wearblack maxi dress and a printed cardistudded sandals and denim shorts, Rebecca Minkoff Love bag and skinny jeans.

What I wore:

AwayFromBlue | Jeanswest Tie dye maxi dress third trimester baby bump

AwayFromTheBlue | Rebecca Minkoff plum purple mini MAB tote bag black faux fur pom pom
Necklace: Eye Candy LA gold and turquoise cuff necklace
DressJeanswest 'Elodie' tie dye grey jersey maxi dress
Shoes: slim gold Havaianas (on sale!)
Bracelets: the usual plus Roie Designs waxed leather cream howlite beaded wrap bracelet
BagRebecca Minkoff mini MAB tote in plum (on sale!)

Why I wore it:

I skipped the sandals this time and went for my Havaianas - we were gong out to a friend's housewarming so I didn't have to worry about restaurant dress standards, haha. It was a really good party, even if we couldn't stay long because we had to get toddler T home for dinner.

Faux fur pom poms are really popular at the moment, and I saw on another blog a charm on a mini MAB and it looked so cute! I remembered this little charm that my friend gave me a while ago, and I'd been thinking of a way to use it after selling the bag I used to hang it on. I'd been keeping it safe for a while as I figured it would get too dirty on my key chain. I like the way it looks on the mini MAB, what do you think?

Last worn: tie-dye maxi dress, Havaianas, purple Rebecca Minkoff mini MAB.

Other ways to weartie-dye maxi dress worn knottedpurple Rebecca Minkoff mini MAB and a boho sundress.

If you like the look of the Rebecca Minkoff Love bag or mini MAB bags above, there is a 50% off sale on now at Rebecca Minkoff! Great time to buy.

While I'll post about sales on the blog from time to time, I keep the Sales and Discounts page updated more frequently, so check it out if you're ever looking for a bargain.

Corporate Style: Wrap Dresses For Pregnancy Office Wear, Balenciaga Sorbet Pink City Bag

Now that the Christmas and New Year's holidays are over, I'm back to sharing my office style. Even though I wore both of these outfits before Christmas! Have been so behind with blogging, although I was dressing for the Fox in Flats DAREcember style challenge each day.

What I wore:

Away From Blue | Second Trimester Office Wear Printed Target wrap dress pink Balenciaga bag

AwayFromTheBlue | Balenciaga RH classic city in 2010 sorbet Hermes pink clic clac
Necklace: custom Cooper charm by Silhoupette
Dress: thrifted Target printed wrap dress (with Supre pink singlet underneath for modesty)
ShoesMarc by Marc Jacobs two tone flats in blush and black
Bracelets: the usual plus Hermes pink clic clac
BagBalenciaga RH classic city in 2010 sorbet

Why I wore it:

The style challenge for the day was 'she's a lady' so I figured a lady-like wrap dress with pink accessories was a great way to dress for the theme and still be office-appropriate. You can never go wrong with a wrap dress, and for only $1 this was an op-shop bargain I couldn't pass up!

Last worn: pink singlet, printed wrap dress, two-tone flats, Balenciaga sorbet city bag.

Other ways to wearpink singlet and a floral dress, printed wrap dress and purple singlet, two-tone flats and a plaid pencil skirt, Balenciaga sorbet city bag and a chambray dress.

Where to buy beautiful wrap dresses for under $100:

(I've already bought the first dress, I sized up so it works in the third trimester and it's perfect for the officeYou can see it on Instagram here)

What I wore:

Away From Blue | Soon Maternity 'Madeline' grey printed wrap dress second trimester office outfit

AwayFromTheBlue | JORD black Fieldcrest wood watch Balenciaga sorbet pink city bag
Necklace: Chanel necklace layered with Dogeared silver wishbone necklace and Dogeared 3 Wishes stardust bead necklace  (closeup on Instagram)
Dress: Soon Maternity 'Madeline' grey print wrap dress
ShoesWalnut Melbourne 'Ava' black lizard ballet flats (also available in silver)
Bracelets: the usual plus JORD black Fieldcrest wood watch (C/O)
BagBalenciaga RH classic city in 2010 sorbet

Why I wore it:

The style challenge for the next day was 'neck party' which I decided to do by layering some of my more delicate necklaces. This was before I got the awesome statement necklace from my bestie for Christmas, or that would have been perfect to wear.

Loved carrying my Balenciaga city bag the day before, so wore it again. I like the colour combination of pink and black. I've worn the bag and dress together before too, when I was in the third trimester with baby T.

Last worn: Soon Maternity wrap dress, black ballet flats, Balenciaga sorbet city bag (above).

Other ways to wearSoon Maternity wrap dress and an orange bag, black ballet flats and skinny jeans, Balenciaga sorbet city bag and a maxi dress.

Boxing Day Sales! Jeanswest Maternity Skinny Jeans in the Second Trimester

Hope you had a lovely Christmas! Back to posting as usual, and I wanted to share some of the boxing day sales as well as a couple of things I bought in December.

We had a few cool and stormy days in December so I took the opportunity to get some more wear from my maternity skinny jeans, before the summer temperatures make jeans too hot to wear.

What I wore:

AwayFromTheBlue | Baby bump bracelet stack Rebecca Minkoff grey MAM bag
Necklace: custom Cooper charm by Silhoupette layered with Dogeared silver wishbone necklace
DressFrench Connection black paisley printed empire top (with pink Supre singlet underneath)
JeansJeanswest maternity skinny jeans in black
ShoesMarc by Marc Jacobs two tone flats in blush and black
Bracelets: the usual plus Balenciaga classic double tour bracelet in pearly grey and  Hermes pink clic clac
BagRebecca Minkoff MAB mini in soft grey

Why I wore it:

Had been wanting to wear this pretty printed top for a while! It looks nice without a baby bump, but I enjoyed wearing it in my last pregnancy so I wanted to get more wear from it this time around too. It was perfect with the black skinny jeans.

While these are denim, they are such a dark wash that you wouldn't be able to easily tell that they are jeans, so I wear them to the office quite a bit. A good pregnancy workwear option!

As I'm doing the fox in flats DAREcember style challenge, I wore a bit of a bracelet stack to meet the 'army candy' prompt.

Last worn: paisley print top, pink singlet, black maternity skinny jeans, two tone flats, Rebecca Minkoff MAM bag.

Other ways to wear: paisley print top and a pencil skirtpink singlet and a floral dress, black maternity skinny jeans and a floral cami, cap toe flats and a maxi dress, Rebecca Minkoff MAM and a leopard print dress.

Great boxing day sales:

What I wore:

Away From Blue | Metallic gold tee Jeanswest maternity skinny jeans sandals summer

AwayFromTheBlue | Silver Tiffany bracelet stack Rebecca Minkoff MAB mini in soft grey
Necklace: Australian coin and crest necklace (new purchase)
Tee: Cotton On Luxe pearl tee
JeansJeanswest maternity super skinny jeans in antique blue
ShoesIkwetta 'Circles of life' sandals (C/O)
BagRebecca Minkoff MAB mini in soft grey

Why I wore it:

Managed to do two style challenges in one! 'Red lip' for Fox in Flats DAREcember and 'sparkle and shine' for Summer Style File. After never having worn red lipstick before and only buying it as part of a challenge, I've quickly become a fan. I love this shade.

This tee was another one I'd been looking at in my wardrobe wanting to wear before the bump gets too big! It has a subtle metallic shimmer to it, a really nice piece and perfect for the challenge theme.

Despite the sunshine in the photos, it turned into quite an overcast day and with all the running around I was doing with toddler T (looking at day care centres for next year) I actually wished I'd worn a cardi a couple of times.

The necklace is new - I'd heard of the group For King & Country through Spotify, and then they did a live set at Church Online and I ended up buying the latest album. I saw this necklace while browsing their store and loved the message behind it, that women are priceless and that everyone should be treated with respect and honour.

Last worn: metallic tee, blue maternity skinny jeans, beaded sandals, Rebecca Minkoff MAM (above).

Other ways to wearmetallic tee and cobalt leather jacket, maternity skinny jeans and a graphic tee, beaded sandals and a blue maxi dress, grey MAM bag and print mixing outfit.

What I bought in December:

I was pretty good budget wise in December! As the baby bump gets bigger shopping for clothes is more difficult so I don't do it as often. I shopped more for Christmas presents for others. I did take advantage of the ASOS sale and pick myself up a couple of things I'd been wanting though.

Handbag Gift Guide! Jeanswest Maternity Shorts, Louis Vuitton Speedy Bandouliere

Two simple summer outfits with my Jeanswest maternity shorts. I'm glad I picked up a second pair last month, they are being worn often.
Also thought I'd put together a handbag gift guide (for any budget!) after a few of you suggested it when I asked for your opinions on gift guides. Time to snap up last minute gifts now, with a week until Christmas!

What I wore:

Away From Blue | Summer Second trimester pregnancy outfit jeanswest maternity tank shorts

AwayFromTheBlue | Louis Vuitton Damier Ebene 30 speedy bandouliere JORD black fieldcrest wood watch
SunglassesRayban new Wayfarers (on sale!)
Scarf:  Jeanswest Lux paisley print scarf (C/O)
SingletJeanswest maternity tank in black (new purchase)
ShortsJeanswest maternity rolled up shorts
Shoesblack slim Havaianas thongs
Bracelets: the usual plus JORD black Fieldcrest wood watch (C/O)
BagLouis Vuitton Damier Ebene 30 speedy bandouliere

Why I wore it:

An easy, simple outfit for a hot day. I wanted to add a little bit of interest to the outfit with the printed scarf, I think it worked pretty well as it's a lightweight scarf so didn't keep me too warm. I've recently gone through my scarf collection and pulled out a few of the light ones to try and wear them a little more over spring/summer.

Wore this to take toddler T to his gymboree class, it was a perfect outfit for running around with a toddler.

Last worn: Ray-Ban Wayfarer, mixed print scarf, Jeanswest maternity shorts, Havaianas, Louis Vuitton speedy bandouliere. First time I've worn the tank as it's a recent purchase.

Other ways to wearmixed print scarf and a chambray dress, Jeanswest maternity shorts in the third trimester, LV speedy bandouliere and a dress in winter.

If you are a handbag lover, or you have a handbag fan on your Christmas list to buy for, you definitely can't go wrong with a designer bag! All of the options below are under $500.

Of course, the budget can't stretch to a new bag every Christmas, so here are some more great gift ideas from Shopbop that are a little friendlier to the wallet - bag accessories!

Away From The Blue | Shopbop Handbag Lover Accessory Gift Guide

1: a handbag raincoat for the lady who has everything!
2: a cute bag charm to adorn one of the many bags someone already owns.
3: a coin purse a mini, budget-friendly version of that bag they've always wanted.

Shop more bag accessories at Shopbop
(With free express shipping worldwide, it's a great place to pick up that last minute gift!)

What I wore:

AwayFromBlue | Second Trimester maternity clothes pregnancy outfit for theme park visit

AwayFromTheBlue | Louis Vuitton Damier Ebene 30 speedy bandouliere
NecklaceTai gold alphabet necklace
TeeJeanswest Sonny maternity tee in lagoon marle (C/O)
ShortsJeanswest Georgie maternity boyfriend shorts (available in non-maternity also)
ShoesConverse Chuck Taylor All Star low in white
BagLouis Vuitton Damier Ebene 30 speedy bandouliere

Why I wore it:

Extremely similar to the last time I wore this tee, only with different shoes and without the scarves. I like wearing the tee with denim though I think it's a lovely combination and it's an easy go-to!

Wore this for a very hot day out at Seaworld on the gold coast. My sister was lucky enough to score free tickets, and they had just opened up the recently re-done kid's area so we thought it would be fun for toddler T to go have a play. Even though I could only go on one ride, being pregnant. As we had been to Seaworld earlier in the year, we'd seen a lot of the shows so the day was all about toddler T having fun.

As it's the second time I've worn these shorts since I bought them, and I try to review everything I buy after wearing it twice to learn more about my shopping habits, my purchase review:

I love these shorts. I confess they were a total impulse buy, I hadn't even thought about getting another pair of shorts when I wandered into Jeanswest and spotted these. I'm so glad I bought them though. They are perfect for being pregnant over summer, when it's just too warm for my maternity jeans.

Last worn: Ray-ban Wayfarers (above), green maternity tee, Jeanswest maternity shorts, Converse Chucks, Louis Vuitton speedy bandouliere (above).

Other ways to wear:  green maternity tee with a scarf, denim shorts and studded mouse flats, Converse with a dressLouis Vuitton speedy bandouliere and skinny jeans.

The Net-A-Porter sale is on now, up to 50% off pretty things I can't afford until sale time rolls around. Perfect time to score that handbag you've been lusting after!

Cyber Monday Sales! Easy Second Trimester Outfits: Bright Tanks and Maxi Skirts for Spring

I wore the tank top and maxi skirt combination frequently in my last pregnancy, so I have a go-to outfit for those 'I don't know what to wear' days. My maxi skirts have stretchy and comfortable elastic waistbands and are so easy to wear. Add a bright and colourful tank top and I'm set for a hot day! And comfortable too, even though everything I'm wearing is from my regular, non-maternity wardrobe it accommodates a baby bump nicely.

What I wore:

Away from Blue | Easy Spring Second trimester outfit stretchy tank printed maxi skirt

Away from the Blue | printed maxi skirt Rebecca Minkoff mini MAB tote bag plum
Necklace: thrifted pearl and heart charm long necklace
SingletJeanswest 'Jenni' basic singlet in festival fuchsia
Skirt: Izabel London Aztec print maxi skirt (C/O)
ShoesBalenciaga studded sandals in sorbet RGGH
Bracelets: the usual plus Roie Designs black leather Swarovski beaded wrap bracelet
BagRebecca Minkoff mini MAB tote in plum (on sale with 25% off and free shipping at Rebecca Minkoff)

Why I wore it:

More house hunting! I've mentioned it here and there on the blog but finding the perfect house is taking longer than we thought. Anyway, the outfit. This maxi skirt is quite a thick one but it wasn't too warm paired with the berry singlet.

I was really wishing I'd picked something different for my feet though. Buckling and unbuckling sandals before entering an open house when pregnant and juggling a toddler is not the easiest thing to do...I ended up leaving the sandals unbuckled by the time we got to the fourth house.

Last worn: Ray-Ban Wayfarer, berry tank, printed maxi skirt, Balenciaga sandals, Rebecca Minkoff mini MAB tote.

Other ways to wearberry tank and a statement necklace, printed maxi skirt in winter, Balenciaga sandals and skinny jeans, purple Rebecca Minkoff mini MAB tote with a black dress.

As it's been a big weekend in the USA with thanksgiving, Black Friday and Cyber Monday, don't forget to check out these sales:

Anthropologie 25% off everything with code 'SHOPTOIT'
ASOS 30% off everything with code 'BLESSED'
(I picked up this cute blue kimono and this floral one for summer)

Boohoo - 70% off everything

Luisaviaroma - extra 20% off sale items with code 'BFR20'
Matches Fashion - 50% off sale plus free shipping with code 'FREEAUS'

Rebecca Minkoff - 25% off all orders plus free shipping and Essie Polish. No code needed.

If I wasn't having problems at checkout, the Rebecca Minkoff sale is the one I'd be shopping! I have my eye on the custom bag offerings! Sadly, I can't get past the shipping stage without getting an error. I've emailed but still haven't heard back.

What I wore:

Away from Blue | Spring second trimester pregnancy outfit lace kimono bright tank black maxi skirt

AwayFromBlue | green tank Rebecca Minkoff mini MAC with python embossed leather in aquamarine
JacketShein cream lace kimono (C/O)
NecklaceRoie Designs feather, quartz and love charm long necklace
TankJeanswest Jenni basic singlet in Emerald green
SkirtJeanswest plain jersey black maxi skirt
Shoes: black slim Havaianas thongs
BagRebecca Minkoff mini MAC with python embossed leather in aquamarine (on sale with 25% off and free shipping at Rebecca Minkoff)

Why I wore it:

It was a slightly cooler day than the one above, so I took the chance to add a kimono over the singlet and maxi skirt combo to try make it a little different.

I've worn this singlet and skirt together before, just with different accessories, and no kimono or baby belly. It's a nice simple combination. I don't wear a lot of green, so this singlet hasn't been worn often, but I'm being much more adventurous with colours after my wardrobe detox session with a personal stylist and I even went out and got a similar shade of green in a maternity tank.

Last worn: lace kimono, green singlet, black jersey maxi skirt, Havaianas, Rebecca Minkoff aquamarine mini MAC.

Other ways to wearlace kimono and a chambray dressgreen singlet at 39 weeks pregnant, maxi skirt and a graphic tee, Rebecca Minkoff aquamarine mini MAC and skinny jeans in winter.

Wrapping up this post with my monthly purchases (can you believe November is almost over?!). I bought a lot of Christmas presents for others this month, and stocked up on maternity wear for summer in the Jeanswest 40% off sale.

Back to the usual what I've been wearing. It was actually a little exciting to open up the big bag of maternity clothes I'd set aside post-baby, and rediscover pieces I'd loved in my last pregnancy. I was extremely happy to see these Asos maternity pencil skirts again, they were real workhorses before.

What I wore:

Away From Blue | Second trimester workwear Asos maternity pencil skirt ruffle cami

AwayFromBlue | Balenciaga part time in black 2010 with SGH
Scarf: Louis Vuitton "comete" bandeau scarf
Necklace: Lovisa silver love knitted heart pendant necklace
CamiJeanswest 'Maria' cami in cream
SkirtAsos maternity panelled pencil skirt in tartan check (non-maternity version here)
ShoesWalnut Melbourne 'Ava' black lizard ballet flats
Bracelets: the usual plus House of Harlow Aztec bangles in fuschia pink and silver, white and silver, Hermes pink clic clac
BagBalenciaga part time in black 2010 with SGH

Why I wore it:

Just like last time I wore this scarf as a headband to the office, I got a bunch of compliments, which is always nice! I had a scan to check baby's progress in the early morning, and then it was Melbourne cup day so we had a bunch of events in the afternoon in the office. As I had just recently finished up the Frocktober fundraising challenge, I didn't really want to wear my usual dress option for Melbourne cup.

I figured the ruffles on this cami made it a little more dressy than a standard pencil skirt outfit, and the scarf in my hair was a nod to the headpieces worn to our themed event that afternoon.

Last worn: Louis Vuitton bandeau, ruffle cami, tartan pencil skirt, black ballet flats, Balenciaga part time bag.

Other ways to wearLouis Vuitton bandeau as a belt with a LBDruffle cami and a maix skirt, tartan pencil skirt in the third trimester, black ballet flats and skinny jeans, Balenciaga part time bag and a striped dress.

What I wore:

Away From Blue | JORD fieldcrest wood watch, Balenciaga black giant G21 hardware part time bag
NecklaceDogeared silver wishbone necklace (on sale!)

ShoesMarc by Marc Jacobs studded mouse flats in grey
Bracelets: the usual plus JORD black Fieldcrest wood watch (C/O)
BagBalenciaga part time in black 2010 with SGH

Why I wore it:

Back when I was still hiding the baby bump on the blog and in the office, I'd gone through my wardrobe pulling out a few possible outfit ideas. This pretty teal top was one of them, so it had been hanging at the front of the wardrobe waiting for me to wear it. I didn't get around to wearing it before starting Frocktober, so it had been sitting there unworn.

Was wondering what to wear with this pencil skirt when I saw this top and figured I'd better wear it again before the spring weather heats up too much. It was a slightly cooler day when I wore this so it worked out perfectly. I wasn't too happy with the length of this top worn like this - I usually always partially tuck it in - but I liked the combination of the teal with the black and white.

Last worn: teal henley, Asos graphic pencil skirt, studded mouse flats, Balenciaga part time bag (above).

Other ways to wearteal henley and a maxi skirtgraphic pencil skirt and burgundy tee, studded mouse flats and jeans, Balenciaga part time and skinny jeans.
