Drop Waist Striped LBD and Ankle Boots | Ruffle Hem Tank, Skinny Jeans and Mouse Flats

More of my Fox In Flats style dare outfits from September, as well as the first time I've shared two of my latest purchases.

Here's what I wore to go out for lunch with DH and baby T:
SunglassesRayban new Wayfarers
ScarfAlexander McQueen magenta skull scarf in roses print
DressAtmos&Here 'California' drop waist tee dress (new purchase)
ShoesAsos Aggie leather western ankle boots in black

First time I've worn this cute striped dress from my September purchases. Thought it would be a nice thing to wear to go out to lunch with the boys (DH, Baby T and Cooper). It was a little cooler, so I added ankle boots to keep my feet warm. The style dare for the day was 'LBD', so this dress worked nicely.

This is my first drop waist piece. I know that the trend has been around for a while now, but I was never sure how it would look on me. Being petite, I didn't want it making me look shorter than I am! Decided to try this dress from The Iconic as I had a discount code for 50% off and they have free returns if it didn't work out. While it is a different style for me, I really like it. The fact that the dress is so stretchy and comfortable helped make my mind up on it too!

Last worn: Ray-Ban Wayfarer, skull scarf, Asos ankle boots. First time I've worn the dress.

Here's what I wore to have lunch with family:
Sunglasses: Cotton On 'Kirsten sunnie' in yellow
Necklace: beaded statement necklace from local markets
Top: Zalora basics ruffle hem tank in black (on sale, or massively reduced in cobalt blue)
JeansJeanswest Super Skinny Jeans in Mid Indigo
ShoesMarc by Marc Jacobs patent leather mouse flats

Although this is the first time I've worn this tank on the blog, it's not the first time I've worn it. Just didn't have the opportunity to take a photo the first time around. I was looking forward to wearing it again and getting the time to take a photo! The Fox in Flats Style Dare challenge for the day was bright, so I just picked a nice bright statement necklace instead of going for a bright outfit.

The tank has a slightly boxy fit with a little ruffle hem, so it's great for disguising the left over baby belly! Sadly it doesn't look as great with maxi skirts as I had hoped, maybe if it was just a little shorter (or I was a little taller!). Luckily, it is really nice with jeans. I wore it with jeans previously too, but really liked it this time with the bright statement necklace against the black. Was a nice casual comfortable outfit for a BBQ lunch with family, and my necklace survived baby T's grabby hands, which was wonderful. I'm slowly getting around to wearing my necklaces again, as baby starts to get more control of his hands and grabs things for a reason and less haphazardly. I was so scared of him getting tangled in my necklaces before. You worry about the weirdest things with a baby!

Last worn: yellow sunnies, skinny jeans, mouse flats. First time I've worn the tank on the blog.

Atmos&Here Willow Printed Tee Dress, Ankle Boots | Grey Pencil Skirt and Converse

Today I'm blogging one of my latest wardrobe additions from my September shopping, as well as one of the last unworn items from my August purchases. I'm also sharing the first of my outfits for the Fox In Flats September Style Dare (I was a little late joining and I'm behind in blogging, although I was up-to-date on instagram).

Here's what I wore to go shopping with my sister:
Atmos&Here Willow Tee Dress Acne Pistol Boots Spring Style Aussie Blogger
Sunglasses: Cotton On 'Kirsten sunnie' in yellow
DressAtmos & Here Willow printed tee dress (new purchase)
ShoesAcne pistol boots in "skin"

First wearing of this cute printed dress! I had planned a day out shopping with my sister, and this dress was the perfect thing to wear to take advantage of the warmer spring weather. I was eager to wear it with the ankle boots, as it was the first footwear I had in mind when I saw the dress online. Really liked the combination! Something a little different from a dress and Chucks!

Wanted to buy this dress after seeing it on the Atmos&Here instagram page, but waited to buy it until The Iconic had a 50% off discount code. I try not to pay full price if I can avoid it! The print is available in a shirt dress and a tee as well, but I thought this simple tee dress would get the most wear. Really happy with this addition to my wardrobe :)

Last worn: yellow sunnies, Acne pistol boots. First time I've worn the dress.

Here's what I wore to run errands with baby:
Casual grey marle pencil skit Converse chucks white tee outfit
SunniesRayban new Wayfarers
Tee: Jeanswest 'Leila' embroidered top
SkirtAtmos&Here grey marle jersey pencil skirt (new purchase)
ShoesConverse Chuck Taylor All Star low in white

This is my first outfit from the Fox in Flats September style challenge! I did mean to join for the whole month, but forgot all about it until half way through. Time got away from me. When I wore this, the challenge for the day was "white out".  I'd been looking at this pencil skirt in my wardrobe for a while after I purchased it, and knew I had to at least try to wear it to accomplish my shopping goals.

Not entirely sure what to wear with a pencil skirt when I wasn't taking it to the office, I remembered the style dare and used that for inspiration to wear this white tee. It still looked like something I'd wear to the office though (yey for relaxed dress codes!) so I added the Converse to try make it more casual. I thought it worked well, but baby T didn't agree and the skirt had to be swapped for a pair of shorts later in the day after he got a little messy!

I didn't get around to wearing this pencil skirt twice after I purchased it, as I suspected might happen when I bought it. I just couldn't pass by a good grey pencil skirt on sale, and thought that maybe with the casual fabric I might be able to wear it outside the office. I just can't shake the idea that to me, pencil skirts are office wear. So I've packed this skirt away in the "office wear" box in my wardobe for when I go back to work after maternity leave.

Although I've only worn it once, my purchase review: not the best purchase for right now. I'm glad I bought it, but probably shouldn't have as it doesn't fit my current lifestyle. Although I know I will wear this skirt later, I'm trying to stop buying things I'm not going to wear right away, so I don't end up in a year with a wardrobe full of items still with tags on.

Last worn: Ray-Ban Wayfarers, embroidered white tee, Converse. First time I've worn the pencil skirt.

Dresses, Converse and Alexander McQueen Skull Scarves. September Purchases

Dresses and Converse twice in a row! Such an easy option for a stay at home mum. I've worn these two dresses one after the other before as well, just back in the cooler winter weather. Now the spring weather is here to stay, the tights are firmly packed away and it's back to bare legs!

Here's what I wore to go out for lunch with baby and Cooper:
away from blue asos grey colour block skater dress converse skull scarf
SunglassesRayban new Wayfarers
ScarfAlexander McQueen magenta skull scarf in roses print
DressAsos grey skater dress (on sale!)
ShoesConverse Chuck Taylor All Star low in black

Thought I'd give this dress another go, after realising after I bought it that I don't really wear neutral dresses. Hopefully I can make this one a wardrobe keeper and actually wear it.

My only problem with this outfit was that when I went out with baby T in his carrier, I kept tugging at the skater hem of the skirt as it caught in the breeze. I'm glad spring allows me to wear pretty dresses without needing tights, but it does make me more conscious of flyaway hems!

Last worn: Ray-Ban Wayfarer, Alexander McQueen skull scarf, Asos skater dress, Converse.

Here's what I wore to go to my mother's group meeting today:
SunniesRayban new Wayfarers
ScarfAlexander McQueen pink pashmina in skull and floral print
DressAtmos&Here navy stripe tee dress
ShoesConverse Chuck Taylor All Star low in black
BagMarc by Marc Jacobs pretty nylon Eliz-A-Baby bag

I really liked the outfit combination from the previous day, despite the flying skirt issue, so repeated it again. Skull scarf, dress and Converse is such a nice, easy outfit. I do prefer this outfit over the previous one though, only because I adore this dress! It's quite a thick material so I want to get the most wear out of it I can before the days get too warm for it.

Wore this out to my mothers group meet up with baby T. Although I did have to be careful about how I sat down sometimes, as baby T isn't mobile I'm wearing dresses while I can. I know it's only a matter of time before I'll be running around after an adventurous crawling little baby, and no doubt my go-to outfits will change again!

Last worn: Wayfarers (above), Alexander McQueen skull scarf, striped tee dress, Converse (see above), Marc by Marc Jacobs baby bag.

My September Purchases:

Another month already! While I haven't yet worn all of my August purchases (will post about that later!) I do want to share my September purchases. Just like the previous months, I'll be trying to wear each item twice over the next few weeks and reflecting on each new wardrobe addition after I've done so. You can see my goals and why I'm doing this here. Just like last month, I've already returned something, and I'm hoping to get a lot of wear out of the remaining items.

What I bought:
Zalora maxi skirt (returned)
Ruffle hem tank
Willow printed tee dress
California drop waist tee dress
