NYE and New Years Day Maxi Skirt Outfits

The last of my Fox in Flats style dare December outfits...and the first of my JaNEWary style challenge outfits! Since the final reductions are starting in the post-Christmas sales, I've included some sales and discount codes too.

Here's what I wore for New Year's Eve:

Bracelets: the usual plus Balenciaga classic double tour bracelet in pearly grey
BagRebecca Minkoff Love cross body bag in grey

I had a quiet New Years eve, even more quiet than usual. I may have fallen asleep before welcoming in the new year...

Although I didn't have any plans for the new year, the style challenge for the day was to wear something that sparkles, so I wore this old sequin scarf. I've had it for years, it's survived every wardrobe clear out! I still remember the day I bought it, after seeing a pic of someone wearing one and wanting to recreate it. So I dragged my friends round every store that might have one. I originally passed up on this one as it wasn't exactly what I was after, but went back at the end of the day to get it after realising it was the cheapest, haha. My friends were not amused. I don't even remember wearing it after spending a day hunting for it! I'm sure I wore it once or twice though. Wanted to wear my new printed tank too that I bought in December, and thought it was nice with the maxi skirt.

If it wasn't for the challenge I don't think I'd have paired the printed top and sequin scarf together on my own, but it was nice to wear something a little different. Ended up taking the scarf off later in the afternoon as baby T thought it was a shiny toy for him to play with, especially when the sun caught it as I was outside. After a few too many tugs I decided I was better off not wearing it!

Last worn: black maxi skirt, Havaianas, Rebecca Minkoff Love bag. First time I've worn the scarf on the blog, and first time I've worn the tank as it's a new purchase.

Here's what I wore on New Year's Day:
Colourful Summer Outfit Asos Colour Block Maxi Skirt Atmos&Here Cami LV Speedy B 30
SunniesRayban new Wayfarers
NecklaceNibbly Bits Abacus necklace in pop
SkirtAsos colour block maxi skirt in red (on sale!)
ShoesAsos 'five star' leather sandals
Bag: Louis Vuitton Damier Ebene 30 speedy bandouliere (with Coach feather bag charm)

Wore this to go to a BBQ lunch to welcome in the new year. A very colourful outfit featuring another of my December purchases, this cute little ruffle cami. Thought it would look nice paired with the colourful maxi skirt. After putting it on I wasn't too sure when I glanced in the mirror, but decided to wear it anyway as I didn't have time to come up with a different outfit idea. It seemed to go down well on instagram so it was a winner in the end. Like the above though, not an outfit I'd repeat again.

After finishing the Fox in Flats DAREcember style challenge, I was looking forward to making my own mind up for what to wear each day in January. The style challenges are fun, but they can be tricky when I have to come up with an outfit that meets the theme and is suitable for spending the day with baby T, sometimes it requires a bit of forward outfit planning! When I saw the JaNEWary style challenge for January I thought I'd skip it at first. In the end, I decided to play along with the challenge, as I knew I'd probably get stuck for outfit ideas half-way through January anyway, haha! So as well as being my first outfit of 2015, it's my first January style challenge outfit, for 'splash of colour', with a whole lot of colour.

Last worn: Wayfarerscolour block maxi skirt, Asos sandals, Louis Vuitton Speedy B. First time I've worn the cami on the blog as it's a recent purchase.

As promised, a few post-Christmas sales that have extra reductions:
I'm trying to keep the sales and discount page as up-to-date as possible too.

Wardrobe Inventory 2015 Linkup

As I'm still playing catch-up with my posts, another two of my Fox in Flats style dare outfits from December. Also, my 2015 closet inventory and an invite for you to join the link up!

Here's what I wore to go out with baby:
Alexander McQueen Skull Scarf Sass and Bide Tank RM mini MAC bag
ScarfAlexander McQueen magenta skull scarf in roses print
TankSass and Bide 'Musical Genius' tank
JeansJeanswest 'shale' super skinny jeans
Shoes: Cotton On thin strap thongs in black
Bracelets: the usual plus Nicole by Nicole Miller bracelet
BagRebecca Minkoff metallic silver mini MAC

The style dare for the dare was 'metallica' so I wanted to wear my cute little silver mini MAC bag, with this cute little cuff bracelet I won from a giveaway on Style of Sam. You can see a better pic of my accessories here on instagram. As it was another rainy and cloudy day, I decided to wear jeans. That was not a great idea as the humidity started to climb really quickly and I wished I'd worn shorts or a skirt instead! I did like the layering of the scarf and tank together though.

Last worn: Alexander McQueen Roses skull scarf, Sass and Bide tank, skinny jeans, thongs, Rebecca Minkoff metallic mini MAC.

Here's what I wore to have friends over:
Boho summer outfit Jeanswest printed dress sandals rebecca minkoff love bag nursing friendly
SunglassesRayban new Wayfarers
NecklaceNibbly Bits Abacus necklace in pop
Dress:  Jeanswest 'Chelsea' printed dress (on sale!)
ShoesNine West silver strap sandals
Bracelets: the usual plus House of Harlow sunburst wrap bracelet in cobalt
BagRebecca Minkoff Love cross body bag in grey

The style challenge for the day was 'slick hair', so I used my hair straightener. Of course by mid-morning when I took pictures the humidity had gotten to it and it's not as sleek as it was at the start of the day, haha. I always feel like I've put a bit more effort into an outfit when I straighten my hair, as it takes a while to do. I don't do it as often as I used to now, partly because baby makes it hard to have enough time to get all 'dolled up' each day, and partly because I've gotten lazy and used to not doing it!

I had some friends round for a little playdate with their son and baby T. Didn't quite work as their son is much older than baby T, although he did enjoy chasing Cooper and carrying him around and trying to carry baby T around too, hehe. I wore the bag and sandals for when I popped out quickly in the morning, but didn't need them in the afternoon when I stayed home. These sandals have never been the most comfortable when I wear them, and so this was their last wear to see if I would keep them. They are leaving my wardrobe, as the straps rub a little after a long period of wearing them.

Last worn: Wayfarers, Jeanswest printed dresssilver sandals, Rebecca Minkoff Love bag.

Rainy Day Outfits and Alexander McQueen Skull Scarves

After a hot and sunny Christmas day, we had a few days of rain that brought the temperatures down, much colder than a normal summer, so I took the chance to layer up a little! Also got to wear my Christmas present, my new LV speedy bag!

As it's a new year, a new start, I've finally gotten around to doing a wardrobe inventory...pretty scary numbers! I'll post about it on Wednesday, and I thought I'd include a link up.  I figured I wouldn't be the only person wanting to streamline their wardrobe this year, so hopefully you can take a count of what you own and post about it this week for the link up on Wednesday. The numbers of what I own even surprised me! I'll share more in a couple of days.

Here's what I wore to visit family:
ScarfAlexander McQueen skull scarf in light blue
TeeSpectrum basic v-neck tee in grey marl
SkirtAsos colour block maxi skirt in red (on sale!)
ShoesMarc by Marc Jacobs studded mouse flats in grey
Bracelets: the usual plus gifted House of Harlow sunburst wrap bracelet in cobalt
Bag: gifted Louis Vuitton Damier Ebene 30 speedy bandouliere (with Coach feather bag charm)

We had a really relaxed Boxing Day, after a busy Christmas day. We didn't go anywhere, so I didn't get a blog pic, although I did share what I was wearing on instagram as part of the DAREcember style challenge. After a quiet day playing with all of baby's new toys, we ventured out the next day to visit family for some birthday celebrations, and this is what I wore. The rain had set in and brought the temperature down, so I layered up a little. Didn't expect to still be wearing scarves in the middle of summer! Was pleased for the cool change to let me wear them though.

This maxi skirt probably wasn't the best choice, as I was dodging puddles trying not to get the lighter pink section wet! It was a good excuse to use my new Louis Vuitton speedy bag that I got for Christmas though - the damier ebene is perfect in the rain. I got the bracelet for Christmas too, an outfit accessorised with new items that worked with the style challenge theme for the day.

Last worn: Alexander McQueen skull scarf, grey tee, Asos colour block maxi skirt, Marc by Marc Jacobs studded mouse flats. First time I've worn the bag.

Here's what I wore to spend time with a friend:
ScarfAlexander McQueen modal skull scarf in white/pink
TeeAtmos&Here grey Arizona zip tee (on sale!) with pink Supre singlet underneath
Shorts: Jeanswest denim cuff shorts
ShoesAcne pistol boots in "skin"
BagLouis Vuitton Damier Ebene 30 speedy bandouliere (with Coach feather bag charm)

Hubby invited one of his mates over for lunch and a bit of golf at the driving range. Baby T and I didn't go golfing, but it was nice to spend a little time with his friend. It was another wet and rainy day, so again I took advantage of the cooler temps to layer a bit. I decided to give this bright tank under a zipper detail tee thing a try that I'd talked about last time I wore this grey tee. Very similar to the last time I wore it, just with the different zipper placement and a scarf! Definitely want to try this again next time I wear it, think I've found the purpose for the zippers now ;) The top is still available at the iconic as well if you're thinking about cooler autumn temps already - it's on sale.

The humidity cranked up a bit in the afternoon, so shorts were a good choice. Hubby really liked this outfit too, he complimented me on coordinating the pink scarf and tank together! The style challenge for the day was 'on your head' and I was so jealous of the ladies who participated with a sun hat - I'd been hoping to do that and spend some time by the beach, but ended up just putting a messy bun 'on my head' instead as it was definitely not beach weather.

Last worn: Alexander McQueen pink skull scarf, grey tee, denim shorts, Acne Pistol boots, Louis Vuitton speedy B (see above).
