Green and Black Jeans and Tee Outfits With Mimco Mim-Mazing Crossbody Bag

Two jeans and tee outfits I wore recently, both with green and black and accessorised with my little MIMCO Mim-Mazing crossbody bag that's become a staple lately.

What I wore:

JacketCotton On black knit wrap cardigan
ScarfStella McCartney heart print scarf
Earring: thrifted Colette gold metal flower stud statement earrings
Tee: thrifted Cotton On The one crew tee in green
Jeans: thrifted Cotton On The High Rise Skinny Jean black coated denim
ShoesConverse Chuck Taylor All Star low in black
BagMIMCO Mim-Mazing crossbody bag in black and light gold

Why I wore it:

Wore this for a cold weekend morning at the local markets, selling a few more things from my wardrobe. I picked this thick black cardigan to wear as well as the big navy heart print blanket scarf so I'd be cosy as it was quite windy. Sadly not a lot of people at the markets because of the cold weather, but made a few sales and covered the cost of the stall which is always good.

I was nice and warm and comfortable too, although I did end up taking the big scarf off when I ran a couple of errands after the markets as it had warmed up nicely.

Last worn: black belted cardigan, green tee, statement earrings, Stella McCartney heart print scarf, coated denim jeans, black Converse, Mimco Mim-Mazing crossbody bag.

Other ways to wear:  black belted cardigan and dress, green tee and skirt, Stella McCartney heart print scarf and stripes, coated denim jeans and jumper, black Converse and dress, Mimco Mim-Mazing crossbody bag and maxi skirt.

Perfect for pregnancy: black belted cardigan and hidden baby bumpConverse in second trimester.

What I wore:

JacketRebecca Minkoff Ruana poncho
Necklace: thrifted mint silicone statement necklace
Tee: thrifted Cotton on grey tunic tee
Jeans: thrifted ASOS petite green skinny jeans
Shoesthrifted white leather Chuck Taylor All Star Converse sneakers
Bracelets: the usual
BagMIMCO Mim-Mazing crossbody bag in black and light gold

Why I wore it:

Even though this outfit has green and black like the outfit above, this felt much more colourful with the brighter green jeans. Surprisingly I haven't worn these jeans with the black and white knitted poncho before which is a surprise as every colour goes with black and white! Added the grey tee to balance out the bright jeans, and also as it was a good backdrop to show off this recently thrifted necklace. Didn't need a scarf for this as I was able to wrap myself up in this knit to stay warm - it really is like a big blanket!

Perfect outfit for working from home, the school run, and a quick errand after school pick up.

Last worn: Rebecca Minkoff knitted ruana, grey tunic tee, green jeans, white Converse, Mimco Mim-Mazing crossbody bag (above). First time I've worn the necklace as it's a recent opshop find.

Other ways to wearRebecca Minkoff knitted ruana and white jeans, grey tunic tee and sequinsgreen jeans worn 30 ways, white Converse and dress, Mimco Mim-Mazing crossbody bag and leopard print.

Opshop Style: Thrifted Tees, Kmart Linen and Preloved Bag

Making the most of the summer holidays and getting in another wear of some recently thrifted pieces with these two outfits. Both feature thrifted tees, and some Kmart linen I recently scored at the opshop. Even though both linen pieces are bright and colourful, I added a touch more colour with my little yellow Rebecca Minkoff mini 5-zip bag.

What I wore:

orange stripe tee with rust linen button up skirt yellow bag | awayfromblue

rust skirt with Rebecca Minkoff yellow mini 5 zip | awayfromtheblue

Necklace: thrifted Eb&Ive black wooden bead multi strand statement necklace
Tee: thrifted Cotton On orange and white stripe The One crew neck tee
Skirt: thrifted Kmart rust button up linen blend skirt
Shoesslim navy and pink Havaianas
Bracelets: the usual
BagRebecca Minkoff yellow mini 5 zip

Why I wore it:

I thought that this orange striped tee and the rust linen skirt would pair so nicely together when I saw them in the opshop, and I'm pleased I was right! With all the orange I thought the little yellow Rebecca Minkoff mini 5-zip bag was a fun accessory, but I did debate for a while over the perfect necklace, and I'm not 100% sure this is the right one.

Decided on the black statement necklace though as it's a fun wooden bead one, and we were off to visit our friends and their little baby. A kid safe necklace for bub to play with during cuddles was the way to go!

Tucking in this tee was a nice way to show off the paper bag waist on this skirt too. With it being such a humid day the linen blend skirt was perfect to wear.

Last worn: black statement necklace, Havaianas, yellow mini 5-zip bag. First time I've worn the striped tee and the skirt as they are recent opshop finds.

Other ways to wearyellow mini 5-zip bag and floral dress.

What I Bought In December: Massive Thrift Haul

What I wore:

grey tunic tee with Kmart fuchsia pink linen shorts and yellow crossbody bag | awayfromblue

Necklace: thrifted pearl and heart charm long necklace
Tee: thrifted Cotton on grey tunic tee
Shorts: thrifted Kmart fuchsia linen blend shorts
ShoesSketchers Bountiful navy fabric sneakers
Bracelets: the usual
BagRebecca Minkoff yellow mini 5 zip

Why I wore it:

I was super excited to find these fuchsia pink Kmart linen blend shorts in the opshop. I had so many outfit ideas for them, already having and loving the Kmart fuchsia pink linen blend dress, a fuchsia tiered dress, and Sass and Bide magenta pink jeans in my wardrobe that have gotten a lot of wear. With the high waist on these shorts though I did struggle to find a tee that looked good with them. I ended up going with this grey tunic (also an opshop find, from a while back) so I could have some extra fabric to drape over the top off the shorts so I didn't look too stiff.

With the neutral grey tee and the metallic necklace, again I thought this outfit would benefit from a bright bag, and since I loved fuchsia and yellow last time I tried them together, I thought this little yellow crossbody would be a good choice.

Comfortable sneakers were needed - I got these Sketchers from my mum for Christmas - as we had a busy day. We picked up our son's friend to go to the zoo. It was so much fun, the kids had a great time! I had a couple errands in the afternoon too, so I stopped by the Kmart Christmas clearance and picked up a bunch of 50 cent sale items for next Christmas!

Last worn: grey tunic, pearl and heart charm necklace, yellow mini 5-zip bag (above). First time I've worn the shorts as they were a recent opshop find, and the shoes as they were a gift from my mum.

Other ways to weargrey tunic and midi skirt, yellow mini 5-zip bag with olive.

How You Can Wear It:

Bright yellow bags can work with bright outfits too! You don't just have to wear them with neutrals. As you can see in these two outfits, the yellow bag looks great with pinks and oranges.

Spring Skirts And Denim jackets With Neon Pink Bag

Two denim jackets and skirts outfits for spring, with neutral tees and some very bright accessories. My neon pink mini MAC really adds a pop to an outfit!

What I wore:

Jacket: Bubblegum denim jacket
Necklace: thrifted chartreuse necklace
Tee: thrifted black scoop neck H&M tee
Skirt: Target animal print ruffle hem mini skirt
ShoesConverse Chuck Taylor All Star low in black
Bracelets: the usual plus Roie Designs black leather Swarovski beaded wrap bracelet
BagRebecca Minkoff neon pink mini MAC

Why I wore it:

Enjoying the warm weekend weather and running a couple of errands with the kids. We had a packed day with errands to run and a kid's birthday party in the afternoon. As it was a warmer day, I got this cute little skirt out that I picked up in the end of summer sales - was great to give it a wear again!

I kept it simple with the black tee and denim jacket, but then added a lot of fun colour with the chartreuse necklace and the neon pink mini MAC bag, as I didn't have to carry more than the essentials.

Last worn: denim jacket, black tee, statement necklace, wrap bracelet, animal print skirt, Converse, neon pink mini MAC.

Other ways to weardenim jacket worn 30 ways, black tee and shorts, animal print skirt and pink tee, Converse and dress, neon pink mini MAC worn 30 ways.

What I wore:

JacketCotton On girlfriend denim jacket in whitehaven
Earrings: neutral clay disc earrings (new purchase, charity fundraiser)
Necklace: terrazzo and wood rose gold bead necklace
Tee: thrifted Cotton on grey tunic tee
Skirt: thrifted Kmart rust button up linen blend skirt
Shoesthrifted Adidas Superstar sneakers
Bracelets: the usual
BagRebecca Minkoff neon pink mini MAC

Why I wore it:

I thrifted this skirt last summer and feel I didn't get to give it a lot of wear before the weather cooled off. This is only it's forth wear and I'm not sure why, I love the button detail and the paperbag waist. I kept it simple (like all the other times I've worn this skirt) with a neutral tee - this grey tunic is a good basic. I added the white denim jacket as it was a little chilly on the school run that morning, although I didn't need it in the afternoon when we headed to the park after school. With the neutral white Adidas Superstar sneakers and the neutral necklace, the Rebecca Minkoff neon mini MAC bag was again a fun pop of pink. I wasn't sure about the rust and neon pink together but I'm glad I gave it a go as I really liked it.

As all I had to do was the school run, working from home, and then a couple errands and a park playdate in the afternoon, the little mini MAC was all I needed to carry.

Last worn: white denim jacket, grey tunic tee, statement necklace, linen skirt, Adidas Superstar, Rebecca Minkoff neon pink mini MAC (above). First time I've shared the earrings on the blog as they are a recent purchase.

Other ways to wearwhite denim jacket and dress, grey tunic tee and shorts, linen skirt and white tee, Adidas Superstar and jeans, Rebecca Minkoff neon pink mini MAC and monochrome outfit.

Grey Tees and Black and White Printed Maxi Skirts

Two different grey tee outfits, both with black and white maxi skirts. The first outfit is a little more colourful than the second outfit as I added some pink. Pink always looks good with neutrals, in any shade.

What I wore:

Necklace: Kmart pink multi-colour beaded necklace
Tee: Jeanswest 'Lucy' colour block tee in grey marle/rosebud
Skirt: thrifted SES Fashions vertical stripe maxi skirt
Shoesslim navy and pink Havaianas
Bracelets: the usual plus pink and gold bracelet stack
BagRebecca Minkoff MAB crossbody with studs in desert rose

Why I wore it:

When I put on this grey tee with the pink back panel I thought it would add a nice touch of colour to this black and white vertical striped maxi skirt. But then I decided the outfit needed a little more pink and started adding pink accessories. The pink Rebecca Minkoff studded MAB crossbody bag and the pink bracelet stack and the pink beaded necklace don't match the bright pink panel on the tee at all, but I actually liked all the different shades with this. Neutrals like grey and black and white are a nice excuse to try add some differently coloured accessories, and it's nice there were all in the pink family.

Wore this for a quiet day, with the school run and working from home.

Another grey tee and black and white maxi skirt outfit. This grey tee is a bit darker, and with the black and white maxi skirt again I decided to add a little colour. This darker geometric beaded necklace seemed like a nice touch of colour with all the neutrals. I liked the longer sleeves on this tee to keep me warm in the colder aircon too.

Comfortable Converse sneakers were perfect with this and I liked the matchy-matchy with the black and white skirt. My son had surgery and an overnight stay in the hospital. I had an overnight bag packed, but the big Louis Vuitton Neverfull was perfect for a few things to entertain him and myself in the wait before surgery for him and the during surgery wait for me.

I wore this a couple weeks ago, he's at home now and healing well.

Last worn: grey tunic tee, geometric beaded necklace, black and white maxi skirt, black Converse, Louis Vuitton Neverfull tote bag.

Other ways to weargrey tunic tee and jeans, black and white maxi skirt with pink, black Converse and shortsLouis Vuitton Neverfull worn 30 ways.

Perfect for pregnancyConverse in second trimesterLouis Vuitton Neverfull at 38 weeks.

Note: we are in the direct path of Cyclone Alfred, this is a pre-scheduled post. We had time to prepare our home the best we could, and I have a few posts scheduled as I don't know what the impact will have been as I type this.

Jeans, Tees and Blue Balenciaga Bags

Some simple jeans and tee outfits I wore recently, that I added some colourful necklaces and blue Balenciaga bags too.

What I wore:

JacketThe Kindness Kimono 'Dream Catch Me' print
Necklace: adjustable coral flat bead necklace
Tee: thrifted Cotton on grey tunic tee
Jeans: thrifted Cotton On The High Rise Skinny Jean black coated denim
ShoesConverse Chuck Taylor All Star low in black
Bracelets: the usual
BagBalenciaga First bag in 2006 Blue India

Why I wore it:

This grey tunic tee with the black coated jeans is a combination I've worn before, but this time around I tucked the tunic in and added some more colourful accessories. Last time I wore the two together, it was a more neutral outfit. But I added the printed cover up for a little extra colour and interest, and then the coral necklace as I felt it matched the colours in the print nicely.

I kept the shoes neutral with the black Converse, good for running around a little as I had the school run as well as working from home. Did add more colour with the turquoise blue Balenciaga first bag though, I really like how it pops against neutrals like the jeans and tee.

Last worn: printed cover up, coral necklace, grey tunic, coated jeans, Converse, Balenciaga first bag.

Other ways to wearprinted cover up and skirt, grey tunic and shorts, coated jeans and knitConverse and dress, Balenciaga first bag and band tee.

Perfect for pregnancyConverse in second trimester.

What I wore:

Necklace: thrifted multi strand multi colour disc bead necklace with tassels
Tee: thrifted black and white space dye peplum tee
Jeans: thrifted Zara pink frayed hem skinny jeans
Shoes: thrifted Seed Heritage tan braided sandals
Bracelets: the usual
BagBalenciaga giant hardware Day bag in 2009 tempete

Why I wore it:

Another blue Balenciaga bag! I picked my Balenciaga day as I hadn't worn it in a while and I needed a big bag to fit a book and some water bottles as I accompanied my son to a birthday party at an indoor play area. It was loud so I was intending on hiding in a corner and reading my book, but one of my friends was there with her child who was also attending so I chatted with her instead.

Kept it simple again with a jeans and tee outfit, although I changed it up a little with the peplum tee and the colourful pink jeans. Both the peplum top and jeans are opshop finds, as is the layered tassel necklace I added for a little more colour.

Last worn: peplum tee, tassel necklace, pink jeans, braided sandals, Balenciaga tempete day bag.

Other ways to wearpeplum tee and shorts, pink jeans and knit, braided sandals and dress, Balenciaga tempete day bag and skirt.

Perfect for pregnancy: Balenciaga tempete day bag in third trimester.

Grey Tees, Black Jeans, Long Cardigans and Scarves

Two outfits with grey tees and black jeans, one more colourful one and another just as cosy but a lot more neutral dues to the different colour cardigans I layered with.

What I wore:

Jacket: Jeanswest waterfall drape cardigan in scarlett marle
Scarf: blue tartan scarf
Tee: grey marle pocket tee
Jeans: Jeanswest black skinny jeans with zipper detail
Shoesthrifted white leather Chuck Taylor All Star Converse sneakers
BagRebecca Minkoff 2012 sky grey mini MAC bag

Why I wore it:

After we had spent most of the school holidays at home sick, we were all feeling better so layered up to run a couple of errands. We also stopped by a local exhibition, as well as dropping off some of the things we had cleared out during our time at home to the local opshop. I couldn't resist browsing too, the kids got a new boardgame while I ended up with a bunch of summer pieces for my wardrobe. Very eager for winter to be over!

The grey tee and black jeans were very neutral before I added this bright red waterfall cardigan and the tartan scarf. With the blues in the scarf I thought the little blue Rebecca Minkoff mini MAC bag was a good accessory, and I didn't need to carry much, just the essentials.

Last worn: red waterfall cardigan, tartan scarf, grey pocket tee, black zip detail jeans, white converse, blue mini MAC bag.

Other ways to wearred waterfall cardigan and printed jeans, tartan scarf and maxi skirt, grey pocket tee and denim skirt, black zip detail jeans and duster, white converse and dress, blue mini MAC bag and shorts.

Perfect for pregnancytartan scarf in first trimester.

What I wore:

Jacket: Paper Scissors grey wrap cardigan
Scarf: Mickey Mouse printed scarf from Disneyland Paris
Earrings: Piper recycled metal turquoise tassel earring
Tee: thrifted Cotton on grey tunic tee
Jeans: thrifted Cotton On The High Rise Skinny Jean black coated denim (new purchase)
ShoesAdidas Superstar sneakers
Bracelets: the usual
BagMIMCO Mim-Mazing crossbody bag in black and light gold

Why I wore it:

These coated jeans were one of my opshop finds on the day above! I was eager to wear them, I've tried a few coated jeans in the past but not been impressed. I was so pleased these $1 ones from the opshop were winners, they are very comfortable. I wasn't sure at first if they looked too like leggings, so I layered up to cover my butt just in case, with this grey tunic tee (also an opshop find) and my grey waterfall cardigan. With the black and white Adidas Superstar sneakers and the black Mimco Mim-Mazing crossbody bag this was a very neutral outfit. I added my Mickey Mouse scarf and the statement earrings for a little extra colour, but not too much as I quite liked all the neutrals together.

This was a great outfit for a day of shopping down the coast with my mum and sister. Mum was very generous so I ended up with quite a few things for me which was fun, even though the intention was to start looking at Christmas presents she let me take everything she bought for me home.

Black, White and Grey Jeans and Tee Outfits With Pink Accessories | Weekday Wear Link Up

Two cosy jeans and tee outfits for the school holidays. The kids had a very fun week of school holiday adventures planned, and I was working from home.

What I wore:

JacketRebecca Minkoff Ruana poncho
Necklace: Kmart pink multi-colour beaded necklace
Tee: Jeanswest 'Lucy' colour block tee in grey marle/rosebud
Jeans: thrifted Jeanswest faded black cropped butt lifter jeans
ShoesConverse Chuck Taylor All Star low in white
Bracelets: the usual
BagRebecca Minkoff MAB crossbody with studs in desert rose

Why I wore it:

First time I've got this cosy knit out this winter, and I was reminded again why I love it. It's basically a big knitted blanket. Perfect for an early morning start, dropping the kids off at school holiday vacation program and then working from home before picking them up in the afternoon. With the grey jeans, white Converse, and black and white knit, this was a little monochromatic. The grey tee does have a fun pink panel on the back but you can't really see that with the knit on top, so I added more pink with this wooden beaded necklace and the Rebecca Minkoff studded MAB crossbody bag.

As I was just doing the school holiday program pick up and drop off, and then working from home the rest of the day, this was the perfect bag for the few essentials I needed for that.

Last worn: knitted poncho, grey tee, pink wooden bead necklace, faded black jeans, white Converse, Rebecca Minkoff MAB crossbody.

Other ways to wearknitted poncho and stripes, grey tee over maxi dress, faded black jeans and blazer, white Converse and dress, Rebecca Minkoff MAB crossbody and denim skirt.

Perfect for pregnancygrey tee in second trimesterConverse in second trimester.

Rebecca Minkoff Studded MAB Crossbody Reveal:

What I wore:

JacketKmart striped maxi cardigan
Necklace: thrifted Mix Apparel clover designer inspired necklace
Tee: thrifted Cotton on grey tunic tee
Jeans: Jeanswest Cecile dove grey skinny jeans
Shoesthrifted Adidas Superstar sneakers
BagRebecca Minkoff MAB crossbody with studs in desert rose

Why I wore it:

This was a very good day! I didn't start work until later in the day, so after I dropped the kids off at their school holiday program I had an opportunity to stop in at the opshop on my way home. I stumbled across some Rebecca Minkoff bags which was the highlight of my week! The volunteers were quite entertained by my excitement as I tried on the bags before picking one to buy!

Having planned to go to the opshop on my way home from dropping off the kids, I picked this thrifted grey tunic and silver necklace to wear. I always like wearing thrifted pieces opshopping, although I'm aware it doesn't really bring me any more luck than if I didn't wear thrifted pieces, never hurts to try! Certainly seemed to have worked in this case, I was really pleased with my Rebecca Minkoff find at the opshop!

I thought that the black and white striped duster was a good topper over this grey tunic and the grey skinny jeans - the stripes added more interest, and just as it did in the outfit above, the Rebecca Minkoff studded MAB crossbody bag added a little more colour too. I really like the desert rose shade with grey.

Last worn: striped duster, silver necklace, grey tunic, grey skinny jeans, Adidas Superstar sneakers, Rebecca Minkoff MAB crossbody (above).

Other ways to wearstriped duster and skirt, grey tunic and shortsgrey skinny jeans worn 30 ways, Adidas Superstar sneakers and maxi dress, Rebecca Minkoff MAB crossbody and leopard print.

Perfect for pregnancystriped duster in second trimester.

Preloved and Thrifted Outfits: Magnificent 8

For this quarter's Magnificent 8 post we are all sharing our preloved or thrifted finds! I'm posting two outfits I wore back in the Easter school holidays, one where everything is thrifted and the second featuring thrifted find and a preloved purchase too.

Thrifted pieces are things I pick up when browsing through the opshops (aka charity shops or thrift shops depending on where you live). For the preloved pieces I find online on gumtree and ebay, I don't class them as thrift finds, as I didn't go rummaging through pieces in person. I search online listings from people selling preloved pieces to make more space in their wardrobes, so it's more second hand shopping than thrift rummaging. I'm lucky to have found a lot of handbags this way at bargain prices!

What I wore:

Jacket: thrifted digital print no label kimono
Necklace: thrifted blue statement beaded necklace
Tee: thrifted Cotton on grey tunic tee
Shorts: thrifted Jeanswest distressed denim shorts
Shoesthrifted Adidas Superstar sneakers
Bracelets: the usual
Bag: thrifted Marc by Marc Jacobs Dr Q Convertible clutch in electric violet (with Balenciaga part time bag strap)

Why I wore it:

Everything in this outfit is thrifted! I wanted to set myself a challenge with this theme and see if I could pull together an entirely thrifted outfit for a morning playdate in the park and a stop at the library in the afternoon. It was easier than I thought!

The bag was a splurge at Vinnies at $65, but when I walked in and saw an authentic Marc by Marc Jacobs bag sitting there I wasn't going to say no! That colour! I had swapped out the currently oh-so-trendy short shoulder strap for a longer Balenciaga crossbody strap though from my Balenciaga part time bag. The denim shorts were another Vinnies find, at $7. The necklace, grey tunic and printed kimono were all picked up at my favourite opshop, where clothing is just $1. I paid $2 for the necklace there, I love the pretty blue shades in it. The shoes were a lucky find at another opshop, I was so sure that they wouldn't fit as I never find shoes in my size when thrifting but I really scored with these, they were just $3.

Much like all my outfits, the most expensive part of it is the bag! But bag aside this whole outfit comes to $13 ($78 including the bag) which is a lot less than all of the pieces would retail for! Part of the reason I love opshopping, you never know what you will find but it's sure to be a bargain!

What I wore:

Necklace: thrifted red flat bead necklace
Tank: thrifted Target mixed print colourful printed tank
Skirtthrifted Tree of Life ochre maxi skirt
Shoesthrifted Adidas Superstar sneakers
Bracelets: the usual
Bag: Rebecca Minkoff 2012 sky grey mini MAC bag

Why I wore it:

Like the first outfit, everything here was previously owned before it ended up in my wardrobe! The Rebecca Minkoff mini MAC bag was an ebay find that I fell in love with and very strongly hinted to hubby that I wanted for Mother's Day. Although it wasn't quite as described I still love it and I like how it works with the deep orange of the maxi skirt.

This Target mixed print tank was a lucky $1 opshop find, and like the blue necklace above the red statement necklace was a $2 buy too. The ochre maxi skirt was an incredibly lucky find and just $4. I'd wandered into a little local opshop I don't always have great success in and managed to find 2 maxi skirts at just $4 each, this being one of them. I adore it and I'm so glad I stumbled on it! The thrifted Adidas Superstar I wore above too.

I like wearing this orange skirt with a lot of blues and stripes and other neutrals, so it was good to try somethign a little different and wear this brightly coloured thrifted tank with it. Nice and colourful for a busy morning with a stop at the post office and then some time at the playground with the boys during the school holidays, before working from home and then sports in the evening.

Last worn: printed tank, red statement necklace, ochre maxi skirt, Adidas Superstar sneakers (above), Rebecca Minkoff sky grey mini MAC.

Other ways to wearprinted tank and maxi skirt, ochre maxi skirt and band tee, Adidas Superstar sneakers and floral dress, Rebecca Minkoff sky grey mini MAC and yellow.
