Here's what I wore to go out for dinner:
Necklace: Nibbly Bits Wilma necklace in pale daffodil layered with vintage gold initial necklace
Dress: Zara printed bib front tunic dress
Belt: gold embellished belt (gifted from my grandparents)
Shoes: Acne pistol boots in "skin"
Bracelets: the usual plus silver charm bracelet
It was a really rainy day and had cooled off for a bit when I wore this dress. I'd planned to wear it to dinner a while ago, luckily all I had to do was roll the sleeves down and change to ankle boots for a little extra warmth. As I mentioned on instagram, the last time I'd eaten at the restaurant I wore the same dress, and had a tiny little second trimester baby bump (that I was still hiding in blog photos). This time around, baby T was sitting in a high chair, kicking and chatting away as he ate a meal with us. It was so nice, and wonderful to see how much things have changed! This time last year everyone was excitedly feeling his kicks through my tummy, now everyone can easily see him kicking and jumping around as he picks food off our plates!
I wore this dress during the day as well, just with Converse instead of ankle boots as I quickly had to pop out for the groceries and wanted comfortable flats for that. The style challenge for the day was 'a bracelet you adore but rarely wear' so I wore my little sentimental charm bracelet. I don't wear it every day as I'm worried about damaging or loosing it, it's very special to me. Didn't take a clutch or bag out to dinner, just had everything I needed in the baby bag.
Last worn: printed dress, Acne pistol boots.
Here's what I wore to spend the day with my grandparents:
Necklace: Nibbly Bits Wilma necklace in pale daffodil
Dress: French Connection Melanie striped sleeveless dress
Shoes: black slim Havaianas thongs
Bracelets: the usual plus House of Harlow sunburst wrap bracelet in cobalt
Bag: Louis Vuitton Damier Ebene 30 speedy bandouliere (with Coach feather bag charm)
This dress is another one I wore back when I was hiding the baby bump! The skirt portion is really roomy. The style challenge for the day was 'wear your mood' and I wasn't sure what I was going to wear, but after a difficult night with baby T I was tired so just went with the simplest option - a dress! I spent the morning shopping with my grandparents and then dropped them off at a friend's place for dinner.
Last time I wore this dress (a year ago!) I commented that I hadn't worn it much and I either needed to wear it more or remove it from my wardrobe. I've been thinking about wearing it for a while, but have always passed it up. When I wore it again, I realised why it's worn so infrequently. It's cute, and perfect for summer, but it's also uncomfortable! The elasticated section inside just seems to rub me the wrong way near the end of the day. I thought last time I wore it it was because of the baby bump or having more sensitive skin when I was pregnant. When I got home in the evening I just couldn't wait to take it off. Definitely leaving my wardrobe, and leaving me wondering why I ever kept it so long....it looks nice on the hanger so it's survived multiple clear-out attempts.
Last worn: stripe dress, Havaianas, Louis Vuitton Speedy bandouliere.

I remember you with you baby bump but still always managed to look stylish and radiant. Pregnancy can be tricky and I don't remember any of mine to be a fun experience when it comes to fashion ;)
ReplyDeleteI had some fashion fails while pregnant! It's a constant learning experience as your body changes every day! It's fun to try different things along the way though :)
DeleteI love both dresses and I like so much the fact that you combined the first one with that yellow necklace, great job!

ReplyDeleteand i can relate to that feeling of just wanting to go home and take a dress off and never see it again.
It's good when we no longer have those dresses, but it's crazy we let them taking up space and money in our lives! I can't believe I kept this one so long!

So good to hear you went out to dinner with baby T. I know you said you held away from that. Babies are so unpredictable. You looked so nice! I love tunic dresses! This one is so easily dressed up or down.
ReplyDeleteI was so anxious about it - but it went so well! Definitely not something I want to do all the time, but good to know I can do it now and then! :)
DeleteBoth styles rock. Thanks for sharing.

I lol'ed a little bit when I saw Cooper's little furry bum facing the camera hehehe. Hope you had fun at dinner and you managed to eat a little bit too :)
ReplyDeleteHe wasn't in the mood for posing for photos, ha! :)
Deleteah shame about the dress being uncomfortable but it does have a lovely colour and stripe print though! i have a few things that have survived multiple closet cleanouts this way too. you mentioned something about elasticated section inside but not obvious from the photos what / where it is - is it like a built in bra? you can always remove that bit :)
ReplyDeletesteph / absolutely-fuzzy.com
I wish I could remove it! It's the bit where the skirt attaches to the top, if that makes sense? I did consider taking it to the tailor to turn it into a skirt with a less scratchy waistband, as it has pockets! :) But not worth the effort, I have plenty skirts!
DeleteI love the striped dress, navy and green is my fav combo Love this look and hope you can join me again on Thursday
ReplyDeleteSuch cute looks! Love you Louis bag :)

That first look with the boots and dress combo is super cute! :)
ReplyDeleteThe Dragonfruit Diaries
The yellow necklace is such a stand out, love it. I want to get something like that. The first dress is a really lovely print. I especially like the second dress, there is just something about striped dresses that I always adore. I have a dress similar but with orange and pink stripes from so many years ago but I still love to wear it.
ReplyDeleteI think striped pieces are always classics! Glad you are still loving yours! :)
DeleteI like the print on the first dress and the belt you added to it, very stylish! It's so nice when certain garments hold good memories :)
ReplyDeleteGreat dresses! Lucky you can still wear them - Enjoy the weather!

The fact that they are so easy are the reason I love dresses so much. I have 40, haha! The paisley print one is super cute and because you can roll up the sleeves it must be also very easy to wear in all seasons! xo

DeleteLove the silky blue dress. I can totally see that going from day to night with the switch of jewelry and shoes. So cute, I love it!

It is so strange to think back! I still get rather emotional, don't think I can blame it on pregnancy hormones any more though, ha!
