Remix Friday and Frivolous Friday: 1 top 3 ways

In case it's not clear from the title, it's Friday today! ;)

Here's what I wore:
Top: Cotton On Finland Spliced top in hommus / black / washed orange (New Purchase, bought on sale)
Necklace: Indigo Rose Design freshwater pearl and antique gold long necklace
Bracelets: the usual plus Indigo Rose Design untreated leather glass bead wrap bracelet
Jeans: Jeanswest
Shoes: Marc by Marc Jacobs patent mouse flats (similar at shopbop)
Bag: Marco Tagliaferri first generation birk bag in navy from Erica at HGBags Online

My fave thing about this top is the fun orange back!

Closeup of accessories:

Ash over at Ash Louise has started a fun new Remix Friday challenge, and of course there is the Frivolous Friday challenge at the Fashionoclast I try to participate regularly in. This post has my outfits for both challenges!

Remix Friday is taking an outfit or single piece and remixing it 3 different ways. Something I badly need to learn how to do! Luckily this top is an amazing piece that I bought purely because of it's possible remix abilities, perfect for my first entry into Ash's challenge.

As well as wearing the sleeveless top above with jeans for casual Friday, I came up with 2 other ways to wear it as well:
Casual with a vintage pleated maxi skirt and wedges, and another way dressed up with slim pants, a blazer and statement necklace and heels.

The last look with the blazer is also my entry for Frivolous Friday at the Fashionoclast, which is "Androgynous accessories" for the National Day of Silence in the US. Remember, bullying isn't cool! I'm glad Becky mentioned blazers as I wasn't sure how I was going to achieve the challenge until she posted that hint.

Sorry for the challenge overload! Hope you have a great start to the weekend, and don't forget to enter the Indigo Rose Design jewelry giveaway if you haven't already :)

Would love to know what you think of my remixes! :)

  11. i like the 1st and the 3rd look....it went from casual to pretty formal by just adding a blazer.
i thought the skirt could be shorter like 2 inches above knee, you have nice and straight legs...and it can also make you look taller..
